Has anybody found any use for the alcoves?
I've played around 35 games of the preseason so far and I am yet to find any reason to use the alcoves in any situation. I'm curious to see if anybody else has?

I just did. Juked the mundo hard.
I survived a 100% khazix death today that would have happened had it been the old map. I've been ganked from them, too. They arent world breakign 100% plays everytime, but I did survive one for sure death on the old map, and I've been ganked a few times in things that wouldnt work before.
They are sorta like plants. Blast cones and stuff dont do much for you 90% of the time, but that 10% of the time they do work out quite well. Thats alcoves to me atm.
Hiding wards for teleport, hiding in an attempt to back before being found, last stand when being chased against the corner, jungler can sneak around.
My best play with the alcove involved me running away from enemy after stealing blue, running down bot, running to the middle bush, then flashing back into the little covered area. One enemy kept pursuing through all 3 bushes, another went down to check the alcove, but since I was behind the barrier tucked away, he didn't see me. So that was cool, a nice nail-biter escape.
But all in all, most of the time I also find myself staying within the traditional bounds.
It's where players go to die in a desperate attempt to escape the inevitable.

Staged Qiana ults to attract new players
The jungler can also walk into the bush when the lane is pushed up then in the alcove and sit in there until the lane pushes back and then gank.
Also the support can use it to walk back into a safe space after they poke if the bushes are warded, many supports I see use it to pop in and out to poke or engage.
Toplane I feel like it's less effective but you can still use it to outplay when you're super low to get away.
