I REALLY hope this new "dual" champion is just that DUAL champions

Kindred while I absolutely LOVE everything about them. The character models, lore, voice acting (lamb's voice acting is by far the best in the game) but they weren't separate characters.

When they were introduced me, and i'm sure a lot of others, expected either 2 different champs all together or you being able to swap between them and get new abilities (similar to nidalee/jayce/quinn) where there's a completely different move set/play style.

Instead their play style felt (and still does for that matter) feels more like Lamb is the character and Wolf is the pet or side character. Much like how Valor feels more like a mode of transportation than Quinn's sidekick. While you do great on everything else sad to say you usually fail to deliver on the gameplay part of things when it comes to two people working together or being partners. It often feels like 1 person is in control while the other is there just to be there

Savage but still, Jhin has the best voice acting. I've been a Kindred main since release but can't dispute that.

I love Jhin's VA too but Lamb is my favorite of all

Ivern 's is better.

The Sword Saint6 votes

It's two separate champions.

Sukishoo4 votes

We don't know that for sure yet.

The Sword Saint3 votes

Yes we do. There have been more than enough hints and teasers to say with 95% certainty that it's a set of two champions and not a quin or kindred situation. People just don't want to accept it for some reason or think the most obvious answer is too boring.

Fondling Gems3 votes

Yes we do. There have been more than enough hints and teasers to say with 95% certainty

Yes we do = 100% certainty. Yet you say 95% certainty. Something can only be known for sure if it is a fact, and you yourself admit that we don't know it for a fact. It doesn't matter what the result is, you can just say that because something is likely it is true.

The Sword Saint3 votes

I'm not going to say 'I told you so' when we get the final confirmation, just like I won't expect anyone to man up and and admit to being wrong about this when its so obvious.

Fondling Gems3 votes

I am saying that wrong and right don't play into it. We don't have facts, so you can't state something as a fact when you admit to it not being a fact. That is faulty logic.

The Sword Saint2 votes

We have the facts. There was a leak on reddit a few weeks ago and many parts of it, including literally everything we have been shown about this upcoming champion release, have matched the leaks. Every day more hints and teasers come in that fit the leak, but clearly all this evidence is not the same as the actual champion reveal and until that point technically anything is possible I guess.

I mean hey, maybe the new champ is the guy who went exploring in the recent story. It's not released yet so clearly there's no point in putting literally any value into the mountain of evidence to the contrary.

Fondling Gems3 votes

There is value in evidence. However that just increases the chances not the facts. I have absolutely no issue with you talking about what you want to talk about, however until something is known as a fact, it is not a fact and should not be stated as such. I don't care if all the evidence points towards something being correct. I don't care if I believe that it is correct. If it isn't a fact I will oppose someone stating it as a fact. Not the idea itself, but the way you present it.

Yes it is almost certain that they are two different champions, but that does not make them two different champions, and that does not let you state that they are two different champions. That lets you say that they are almost certainly two different champions. There is a world of difference there.

DrCyanide1 votes

For reference on that leak - http://i.imgur.com/E01C1Q3.png?noredirect

It's worth pointing out that while the "humanoid birds" part is right, our source apparently parted ways with Riot before it was past "Early Development".

Last I was aware, Riot had 2 teams working on new champions. This is the reason why some champions have released back-to-back, such as Gnar and Azir , Kindred and Illaoi , and Jhin and AurelionSol . Following that pattern, the team that started working on this champion would have started work after Ivern's release, which was October of last year.

It's been 6 months since this champion team started "early development" on this champion. If you assume early development takes about 2 months, our leaker's information is 4 months out dated. It's worth noting how Braum changed from early development from being a girl to being the burly guy he is now. - http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/03/red-post-collection-champion-design-and.html

DrCyanide1 votes

Yes, the "humanoid birds" part is right, I said as much.

Braum's kit changed from an engineer who happened to have a shield to a shield champion. In the same video I linked to, they described Jinx's early development as "ranged Udyr" where using an ability changes your auto attacks.

Kits change, ideas change and get refined, and what's there in early development might not exist in the end.

All we know is that the leaker's latest information on this champion was in early development, roughly 4-6 months ago. That brings a lot of details into question, since we don't know if the team in question had their core game play locked in or not. It could be a design like Quinn's old one, where you swap from one character to the other (which is "can play one without the other").

The Sword Saint1 votes

That's contradictory. 'Can play one without the other' implies that you can also play them together. One as adc, one as support. You can't select the same champion twice on the same team. It's two champions. There are two champions shown in the teaser image. They are not the same champion with two faces since apparently one of them is protective of the other one and they don't share motivations.

People are reaching too hard to hold onto this 'they might be they same champion' thing for some reason that I don't understand. It wouldn't even be a novelty since we already have multiple form swapping champions and champions where its two beings in one kit.

tfw you're completely correct but the fragile flower loser idiots on the boards downvote bomb you anyway. Feels good man.

The Sword Saint1 votes

Yeah, that's the community for you. Don't try and get inn the way of the weird and unlikely theories with your all but 100% confirmed statement based on large amounts of accumulating evidence.

Trash MammaI4 votes

We thought Quinn and Kindred were going to be two seperate champions at a point. We were wrong

The Sword Saint3 votes

The community made guesses at those based on teasers. We actually have a leak for this that gets more and more confirmed every day.

It's two separate champions.

You're right, but people downvote away because they're too idiotic to put the pieces together themselves. Also, this: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/02tamZoa-quick-gameplay-thoughts-april-4

The Sword Saint2 votes

Yep... and I don't in the least bit expect the people who downvote bombed me to go 'woops, our bad' now that it's been explicitly stated by a rioter.

If anything they'll probably salvage their egos with 'no we only downvoted you because you said it like it was a fact when it was only 99.999% chance to be true'.

THE RlVER KlNG1 votes

AAAAAAND you're right

The Sword Saint1 votes

It's almost like in the real world the 99% likely answer turns out to be the correct one most of the time and not the fringe 'technically its not confirmed yet so it could be anything' answer.

Dominick Destine4 votes

Kindred was incredibly toxic to the meta, she had the worst design Riot has implemented in a long time.

That being said I hope the new champs are separate. I want to main the new cute red-headed bird girl. Mai waifu as soon as she's released..... sorry Evelynn -chan.

Sexy Jack Rabbit2 votes

Kindred was just over-tuned upon release. After about 8 patches of nerfs they were balanced.

They're fine now.

Flawless Fetus3 votes

You don't think they're weak rn?

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Weak? Yeah sure maybe a little bit.

Absolutely broken and toxic kit? Nah not really.

And yet you're always queued as slave support. Looks like you're playing the guy. ;p

There is no such thing as "too feminine", the more feminine the better.

I agree.

Her hardcore stat-checking gameplay, plus one of the hardest snowball of any champ, PLUS her ult and easy map control made her atrocious to play against. She has been nerfed to where she's balanced but the design is still awful,

I haven't been this excited for some new champs in SO Long. They look SUPER cute and the new lore has only gotten me more excited. I hope we see some heartseeker skins for them next year where they're both dancing together. I love them and I will treat them well.

IxtaliKing2 votes

I'm so curious to know what this new champ situation is. Could be 2 separate champs joined by their shared lore (like Kayle and Morgana), and maybe designed to synergize really well together in-game. Or it could be some kind of 2 in 1 champ. Personally I hope they're 2 separate champs that are picked independently of each other, but either way I have a feeling I probably won't play them :(.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Pretty sure riot said they don't want shit like cho'gall in league.

Solidair32 votes

Riot is on record as saying they will not take the cho'gall approach.

I can think of two immediate alternatives for this "she" and "he".

First, it's a cho'gall situation except they don't share one body, so each member can roam freely, but their ability interactions make them strongest together. I am kind of doubting this one, personally, because the team up is Kalista's shtick and I don't think they'll repeat that.

Second, Jayce/Elise situation and you literally switch between them for a different set of abilities.

That or I guess a Kindred situation. We'll see.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Or, you get to chose one at the start of the match depending on the team comp.

Sounds lazier but it's an alternative.

Automated Riven1 votes

you say lazier but I think that this would be a super cool interaction. IE if one is a support and the other is an adc it can be great for picking early to keep the teamcomp hidden. OR if both could be played but they must be different would also be cool.

So long as it isnt another form swapping champ.

Beastyboy387IVC1 votes

Or its the quinn situation and the phoenix is the taxi

Supreme Senpai692 votes

Personally, if it requires two people to play, I would love to control the taxi. "No, Ms ADC, we are not going in to 1v5." My ADC's would become so much better at the game tbh
