Buy resistances and hp has never felt as unsatisfying.

In the current meta and proved yesterday by Immortals vs Renegade, who needs tankyness and cc when you can just kite/burst any engager before they can do anything.

Whenever I see my 4khp 300armor 200mr full tank just get decimated in the time it used to take to nuke an adc last season, sometimes I wonder why I even play any non-support tanks anymore. Why should I bee pidgeonholed into playing Malph or Nautilus if I want to tank? Malph is only viable because of his assassination pattern and Nautilus because he has overbearing quantites of CC and a shield that makes him even tankier than most tanks. What about other tanks, the ones that can't assinate or lock down your entire team? Don't they also deserve to be viable?

In the past tanks use to stall out the game lengths. As more and more games went on more and more people complained that games would last far too long. say you play 10 games and the average game lengths is at 43.5 mins a game to most people that is too long so Riot changed it where tanks are still tanks but don't expect games to last longer than average 31.5 mins a game.
Long story short tanks are NOT tanks anymore in my opinion, some times and some games there will be super tanks depending on the players items and other circumstances but in most cases they will get blown up as the Meta continues to shift and rotate.

I agree, tanks are way too weak in general, repeatedly nerfed for having decent damage; while fighters get to build full tank and bulldoze, due to free damage built into their kits. I'd rather have longer games that rely on strategy and positioning, than shorter games that just rely on button mashing.

Agreed, to be fair. maybe I feel they are weak because I simply don't get Steraks? I just tried a game with it after having deliberately been avoiding it since it's release. Kinda feels silly that I am forced to get that item though to survive focus fire as a tank.

Cheers mate, I agree with you agreeing with me, Last year 2014-2015 before the huge adc boom and towers had only 1k hp (remember that) I enjoyed and loved hour + games they taught me how to rotate and be smart with leads and when behind. Now it does feel like everyone groups win 1 team fight and just end the game with a single push around the 20-22 min mark. The fast pace feels a little cheesy.
I FIND IT REALLY FUNNY, if you know the famous youtube star {videogame dunkey} everything he said in his "im done with League of Legend video" Riot has changed since{not everything} but alot of things.
"Towers are too strong" Tower got nerfed than had to be re buffed " Games last too long" Games now are really short :} Funny how the people we like to watch can piss you off when They don't intend to Just my thought on the matter

the happy little inhib and nexus towers, do so little damage late game, it's so stupid, they however NEED a buff, i can't tell you how many times someone like a yi or something, not even building assassin, jumps in, kills two or three people under tower, and gets out, with more damage done by champs than the actual tower itself. or seeing as some champs (xin zhao) is able to run up with three items, without minions, and solo towers, or others it's so late game, it deals virtually no damage to them while they have the damage to stand there and hit it, while they've got aggro, it's stupid.

I thought getting deeper into the enemy territory was meant to be harder the closer you got to their base. The {Lazer} towers are garbage more so than the outer towers. I understand that when the games are closing out people have 2-3 items to withstand lazer shots but they should make a bigger impact in the game.
Didn't really understood the new patches that riot made to shorten the games. People complain "GAMES ARE TOO LONG" OK, so finish if you have the lead DONE. Or the people who complain and same subject and lose in a 50+ min game. " I played a 50 min game and Lost GG" OK, so you lost in a really tough game so I suppose losing in a 20 min stump where you got bent over is better huh ?

I feel like the problem is less with Tank champions, and more with Armor and Magic Resist feeling like a complete waste of time to build. I swear, no matter how much I build resistances, it's completely irrelevant. I drop from full HP to 1/4 of my HP in a matter of seconds. Building resistances feels completely underwhelming to me, and has felt this way for a few seasons now.

I mean, If I'm playing a tanky champion, I should be outliving their AD Carry and AP Mid-laner, shouldn't I ? Yet I get eviscerated in seconds no matter how much I build into either defense. And this isn't even in teamfights either, which is a whole different matter... Same case there though. The tank should be able to eat up alot of damage, but how can I do that when I go from 100 to 0 so damn fast that I have to run away as the damn tank !? It makes no sense how pathetic armor and magic resist items are. I never feel durable no matter how much health, armor, and magic resist I build.

Pretty much the whole class feels bad.

As I said, the only tanks that feel really viable are more or less Malph, Naut, Braum, Poppy (hello assassination mechanics) maybe Shen thanks to his kit and maybe apbruiser Bard (though he isn't strictly built like a tank), because they have valuable mechanics.

Yorick, Hecarim, Mao, Olaf etc, for instance feel really lackluster at the moment.

And even, then, when considering toplane, most of the time it just feels like it's more profitable to get another damage dealer like Graves or Quinn since you will just flat out lose your lane when going against these as a tank and because kiting/poking/sieging > tanking/engaging once laning phase is over.

Even the peeling tanks provide feels lackluster as they will often melt like butter trying to do their jobs.

Even fighter typ champs with cc denial like Fiora/Yi feel like they make better tanks because the duration of alphastrike/riposte give them better survivability and mitigation than simply stacking hp and resists.

I might be wrong, not saying this is some universal truth, it's just how I feel about League atm.

Malph is only viable because of his assassination pattern

finally, someone who understands that malphite is really an ap assassin Malphite item 3089

Haha, well at least he's more or less permanently banned if that's some consolement. :D Sure, he is a tank but he definately plays like an assassin, so what to call him I just don't know.
