What counterplay does Draven have?

  • Absurd range

  • MS steroid so you can't run

  • Hits for 1000+

  • Lifesteals for 300+ an auto (twice a second)

  • Self-peel

  • Global ult

... I just don't see how you can beat him, short of CC locking him for a year and a half.

Kill his support and he will start running it down mid

Throw skillshots at his axes.

Everything he has is very conditional. His damage, mobility, and steroids are all dependent on catching axes, which means that a Draven has to know where he wants to move before attacking, making it hard for them to react to sudden situations.

Other things you can do: Shut him down early. Draven isn't a strong late game adc due to the fact that he only has partial control over where he needs to move in teamfights, he is kill dependent, therefore shutting him down will prevent that.

You can also clusterfuck him in fights. Draven isn't good at dealing with multiple people all in his face, abuse this and he will have a hard time kiting away.

Easy - survive his lane phase, shut him down before he stacks up (jungler gank) and outrange him.

-His global ult is pretty meh -His range is average (550) most ADC can compete with him. -He is much more vulnerable to CC because even a slow can make him drop an axe, thus dropping his burst dramatically. -in chatoic teamfights he's easy to target since he has no mobility and preditcable movement to his axe locations.

Draven's niche is pretty much lane bully which he snowballs from, if he didnt get his momentum in lane phase he'll have much harder time getting back up, if at all

-His global ult is pretty meh Its a global ult that does a shit ton of damage

When you say compete i sincerely hope you do not mean trade with...

-He is much more vulnerable to CC because even a slow can make him drop an axe, thus dropping his burst dramatically.

Then he presses Q again to reactivate the ability

-in chatoic teamfights he's easy to target since he has no mobility and preditcable movement to his axe locations.

If mike tyson told you he was going to throw a right hook at you, Even if you expect it, you arent stopping it.

Pretty much every champ.. in the game

Compete means after lane phase, when they have enough damage to out duel him His Q has a moderate cooldown, unless you let him stack 2 Q's + extra reserve you or your support arent doing enough to make him drop them.

Also, the mike tyson'd comparison has nothing to do with this, if i could stun mike tyson and make him drop his fist maybe you'd have a point.

You see draven's axe drop location -> you stun him there ! Wow! Shockingly hard.

There is no adc that has enough damage to out duel Draven unless they get a stupid advantage.

You're an adc. You cant stun draven either....................

Wow! its almost as if a good draven player will not purposely put his axes in a bad spot :x?????????

Pink ward his axes.

He is weak to mobility and burst damage, both of which assassins have. If he positions poorly anyone with burst can abuse him.

The real question is how do you play around an ADC with a good support, because supports are literally there to cover for their carry's downsides, which are the exact point you're supposed to be focusing on when killing them.

Draven's dmg is not what it used to be... There are champions that hit way harder than him atm - Caitlyn, Vayne, Jhin, Quinn, MF... He is also not a DPS monster like Vayne, Cait, Trist, Jinx, Twitch, Kog... Early lane bully that hits hard for several hits in teamfights people without armor and then he drops his axes (his dmg is gone) or he dies.

His hardest counter is Maokai. Tanky Maokai top/jungle and Draven is useless every teamfight.

He's pretty telegraphed by his axe catching. You can punish him that way if you have decent poke. He either drops the axe or eats damage to the face.
