Why do people dodge aram?
Honestly though. It's a gamemode based around fun, you shouldn't be dodging because you didn't get lux.

because riot doesnt make all champions available to everyone in that mode, and there are a lot of people who are running aram accounts with only the strongest champions.
so someone who owns "too many" champions and rolls mediocre or sub par champions with the same chance as strong aram champions will always be at a disadvantage.
sorry, but if i get aatrox and then reroll to get morde or eve, im gonna dodge. because i know its not going to be a fun or fair game because im going to face.

with a teamcomp like

i could live with occationall getting stomped because of a bad temacomp, as long as i get to be the one to stomp like that with equal probability. but its not fair to play vs. perfect aram teamcomps every game, while you get less than great teamcomps half the time because youre stupid enough to play an account that isnt made specifically for this mode.
lol thats sad
getting jax and not getting lux are two very different things
Cause champions like renekton are incredibly boring on aram
i got renekton on aram and had a blast.
becasue getting Sion or Udys is not in the top 10% of champ on aram meaning you are more likely to lose.
So what? It's just Aram
You say that as if ARAM is somehow less legitimate than other modes. It's still two teams of players competing against each other, just like any other game of League. I don't agree with people dodging or stocking their accounts with only the strongest champs, but I can at least understand why they do it.
Because it's a gamemode based around fun. just because you lost does not mean it was not fun.
Same for every other game mode in League. At its core, League is a game based around fun, since the vast majority of players aren't (potential) pros being paid based on their performance.
People still want to win though.
Ranked is about winning. not about fun.
Again, unless League is your job (e.g. pro player, streamer), you might want to rethink your hobbies if you're not having fun.
Go make a post tilted. "ranked is about fun not winning unless it is your job" and see how horribly wrong you are.

Getting/rolling any of these in ARAM is not "Fun" it's, Anti fun. Because they're not only useless, but because generally speaking the enemy comp is almost always 2-3 CC machines, 1-2 AP nukes, 1-2 hyper carries, 1-3 tanks. EVERY. GAME.

Devolving into a straw man isn't productive, so let's take a different approach. Could you explain why you think ranked is not about fun? If you're not having fun with League, why would you keep playing it? Why not choose a different game/hobby?
How hard is it to understand? Normals/aram is where you go for fun. If it's just a casual hobby, your probably won't go to ranked. Ranked is not for fun but you can have fun.
You go to ranked to climb elo, to win, to improve. not to have fun.
Every PvP mode has MMR. Winning, improving, and climbing can be done in all of them, not just in ranked. How hard is it to understand that other people like to do that in ARAM?
Because I REFUSE to play certain champs in that mode. If I get Eve and have no rerolls BUBYE! Also certain comps just aren't worth playing.
Its not nearly as bad since snowballs were added tho.
Yeah cause playing udyr against a team with 5 ranged poke champs is so fun
it is if your team can make it to midgame without falling way behind
it is if your team can make it to midgame without falling way behind
That's the thing. It's not **FUN. ** The op is saying that aram is for fun and who cares about watever. But it's not fun turtling and knowing u cant do anything for 10 minutes. And even then you probably wont win.
shrug I don't find throwing out poke for 10 minutes to be super amazing either. Playing dodgeball is just as fun for me (as long as the dodging is successful). At least Udyr has a shield.
I usually don't doge, but i will only doge if i won't have fun. Whenever i get those champs like
etc, i immediately reroll them.
usually when people get melee characters in a mode where ranged poke teams will rip you to shreds.... did I just unintentionally describe every mode but twisted treeline
maybe riot should just permaban champs like lux and katarina from aram?
problem solved.
and then all those "aram only accounts" will become completely meaningless
With the right runes and masteries and items you can make just about any champ OP in ARAM. Just know your champ and it's limitations and play smart. Too many people play impatiently and try to all-in every single engage. Best advice I can give to ARAM players is teamwork. Even if you're on the crap team if you communicate with the team and work together you can still have a shot at winning vs the OP champs.
I'd dodge in ARAM, but not because I didn't get Lux. I don't even like ranged poke champs. I like hard engage initiators that can destroy ranged poke champs at midgame. If I got Lux I'd likely give it to someone else. But if the team as a whole is hopelessly bad even after rerolls, then sure, I'll dodge.
I don't dodge. But it sucks when the champ match-up nearly guarantees you a loss. Even if your team outplays the other, it only means 20-30 minutes of slowly getting stomped down. It's not fun. Who wants to waste the precious hours of their life like that?
Also, if you draw a bad champ, such as most any jungler for example, often one or more of the players on your team are too daft to understand, e.g. when they got Lux and you got Nunu, why you are struggling in the match compared to them. So if you draw a bad champ you commonly get abused by your team for not doing better, which is on top of the fact are already not having fun playing a champ who is totally outmatched by the enemy team.
A lot of champs in LoL have been designed with strengths and weaknesses that are very specific to the game in SR. Junglers are an obvious example. Many of these champs are weak in ARAM, where the particular SR strengths they were designed to benefit from don't exist. Some guys can say, "Oh, I'll win with any champ," but they are either kidding themselves or somehow playing against opposition that is much less skilled at the game than they are. Unless your opponent is much less skilled than you are, your Nunu is going to get stomped down by an Alistar in ARAM, end of story. AND the Alistar will contribute much more to his team in general than it is possible for you to do.
It would be interesting if in ARAM both teams were assigned the same set of champions....
