How to handle Master Yi

Not just the game I just lost to a yi, it's every single time there's one on the enemy team. he ends up going something like 16/2. How do you fight him? He ults and all your slows are useless. Just Q and a few autoattacks and he kills everyone, how do you fight this? I'm looking for some real counterplay here.

Listen. Everyone on the boards is gonna tell you to "just CC him". Anyone who's faced a Yi knows it's not always that simple, as a good Master Yi will wait until your team has burned all their CC trying to either engage or peel off a tank.

This is why you must constantly remind your team to save something for Yi, or not to fight until you are able to pick him off or set up a plan to deal with him during the fight. Don't trust your teammates to do this, YOU need to be the shotcaller when it comes to peeling him off.

have you meet my friend summoner 3 ? he dies to burst and hard cc. lock him down before he ults and focus him and burst him asap.

he isnt broken you havent lived through the meta of broken yi aka ap yi mid. he is just a hyper carry that is strong if fed. all hyper carries can do it.

another thing no one trys is to play an early dominate jungler to gank early to create pressure because yi is a farm jungler. so if you can gank and create pressure get kills and your team the lead he is either going to let his time die and lose lane or he is gonna try to help and lose farm. he has to have his farm. also if you have a LeeSin Udyr invade his jungle kill him, ping for help from laners as well. but in normal games, and lower elo games no one coordinates like this and takes advantage of him when he is weak to wait til he strong and getting tripple kills is nearly too late.
