The Yasuo ability I always wanted but never got
Okay, so you know that samurai trope where the guy will slash an enemy, and then they won't bleed or get cut until after he's on the other side of them and sheathes his blade?
That.
Unfortunately, Zed has that ability instead. (or something like it)
But it would make so much sense on Yasuo as an ultimate or, as I'm about to suggest, _as a replacement for his current E. _ #Suggestion: E - Sweeping Blade: On-Target cooldown _removed _ (you'll see why in the description). Static cooldown: 5/4/3/3/2s
Yasuo dashes a fixed distance in the direction of the target enemy or allied unit. (Dealing no damage) and marking them permanently. Yasuo can reactivate this ability while it is on cooldown to deal 110-210 (+70% AP) magic damage to any enemy champion recently struck by R - Last Breath and any marked enemy minions or neutral monsters. Yasuo cannot dash to a marked target, but any enemy effected by the damaging portion of the ability will have its mark removed. Monsters are effected as champions would be. Marked Minions, however, can only have this mark removed by the sweet embrace of death's bony fingers.
#Lore-friendly explanation of the ability Now normally the phenomenon is explained by saying that the attack was so quick, physics took time to catch up. But in Yasuo's case, it could be that the dash leaves a target for a blade/gust of wind to attack afterward. The animation could reflect this as well.
#Balance issues addressed by such a change, and implemented in my thoughts:
- Super-low early game cooldown removed-- even 5-2 seconds would still be one of the lowest cooldown dashes in the game
- Damage moved from E to R+E, so early game is weakened further to account for his one-item power-up.
- As the game goes on, the window for reactivating the ability decreases, further reducing his damage if the player slips up on the combo.
- Only immune to minion blocking 1/5 the time.
- Inability to dash to friends removed
As a final word, I'd like to say I've loved Yasuo ever since his announcement. I even went so far as to buy CDR on him in my first match because I hadn't watched the champion spotlight; I was so eager to play him. But it's always irked me that Zed has what this ronin ought to.
