Lux players, some advice please.

Title. I just played Lux, and I forgot how fun she was. I want to start playing her regularly, but she's got some weaknesses that just seem REALLY hard to work around.

  1. Waveclear. This is my main issue with Lux. I either have to burn my ult, or E and auto attack every minion. And even with the auto base damage and passive it seems to just BARELY clear them. Any suggestions?

  2. Mana management- Lux is quite mana hungry- how do you contain her mana problems? Her cooldowns are way to long to afford a tear, and that already hampers her average/weakish early game. I've been going Athene's/Morello's for the extra regen and CDR cap, but is there another way to do it?

  3. Passive procs- This is the thing I feel I'm the most unsure about. Obviously, I know I can't just walk up and auto a Fizz after an E for some harass in a late game teamfight, but I'm actually kind of unsure when to try to proc it, especially in early laning where it might leave me open.

  4. Roaming. And/or sniping with ult. How often do you try? Should I really push to do so or is it not a big deal? Is Lux a good roamer or not in general? I know she's probably not the GREATEST roamer, but....

items find the right item combo so you can one shot the back wave and auto the first 3 melee's .

for mana use spells more wisely

proc your auto whenever you have the opportunity dont force it always keep max distance of auto's so you dont have to go into range

when the situation allows you too, they have a tf and bot is super low you dont have time to make it? push the wave asap and attack the tower, they have a zed pushing mid in and their botlane is pushing? have your jungler come with you and kill botlane. These types of things are all situational and will come with more time into the game or a coach showing you when and when it is not acceptable and you will learn when it is.

Waveclear - Ulting for waves feels like a waste, personally. Your ult is the one skill you NEED to use to even remotely get a kill. Even if it has that 30 sec cooldown, a teamfight could happen in that time frame and you won't be very useful at all. Throw E's sparingly at waves and try to hit as many minions as possible.

Mana Management - Oddly enough, I rarely Mana Regen on her. Count the numbers on skills, and Lane accordingly. Usually by Mid/Late Game, if you're not spamming E's to hit one singular person not worth hitting, then you'll be fine. CDR is another thing I rarely grab.

My Build usually goes Sorc Boots/Mejais (or Morellos)/Rab Cap/Void Staff/Zhonya/Guardians or Ludens. Playing well and safe will reward Mejais, but if you're losing and can't keep up, then Morellos is better.

Passive - Leave it in the laning phase pre 6. Everything seems to get something to punish you Post 6 and/or earlier. Fish for snares, throw that E and Pop it over your ult. 60% health is a good threshold to do this standard combo over.

Roaming/Sniping - Roaming is somewhat harder for Lux to do, and Ganking is only advised if you're running around with the Jungler. Otherwise. you're putting yourself at a pretty big risk. Sniping is okay, but don't expect much. You aren't an Ezreal who can snipe globally and still have good damage throughout the laning phase.

Your ult is the one precious spell that everyone says you can spam, but it makes or breaks whether you can kill someone reliably and safely. Every Teamfight is usually the same. Throw and pop the E on the enemy team and Ult. Save the Q for peel or getting away. The shield is negligible, but nonetheless, throw it over the team.
