Another nerf to Tahm Kench

"Allies already in combat with champions can no longer jump into his ult"

Just delete him already jesus christ, if you hate his ability to assist so much why bother even letting him exist at this point. Just keep kicking the poor frog when he's down.

I just don't understand why they wont simply rework him. They hate his design, hate pretty much everything about him. So much so, that they dumpstered him so hard that his win rate as a support is below 44% and his win rate as a top laner (which by the way is the lane he was buffed to excel at) is hovering at around 49%. He is a BAD champion with a kit Riot probably wishes they could just delete and forget about but instead relegate him to sit on the bench. He is the Evelyn of old, nerfed due to a 'toxic' kit and not touched for years until finally someone took the initiative to design a new kit. That will be his fate.

And it pisses me off because I loved that champion, put so many hours into mastering him, and for what?

It's not a bad nerf. It's already suppose to be an out of combat ultimate. Tahm himself can't even use it in combat.

It isn't the strength of the nerf that is an issue to be honest. It is because the champion has been repeatedly nerfed to a point where you are hurting your team if you pick him as a support because you bring so little to the role and team play in general. You aren't that tanky, despite having one of the largest shields in the game, your damage isn't really a selling point for a utility support, and your CC is so conditional that in organized play you might be able to stun someone once, maybe devour an enemy or ally once a fight. You are left with so few gameplay options that you ask yourself, why didn't I play Thresh? Why didn't I play Alistar? Why didn't I play any other tanky support with AD carry protecting capabilites because they would be more optimal in pretty much any situation?

You're underestimated The Kench if you think that. Even after the W nerf, I've saved a lot of lives with his W despite the extra cooldown, and in mostly ways that no other support could've saved them. And it even does extra damage, so even after that change, his duelist strength actually improved. He's one of those champs who's going to bring loads to a team almost no matter how much he's nerfed.

No offense, but you don't think he adds anything to a team now, then you've probably already underestimated Tahm in the first place.

His 43% plat+ win rate would like to have a word with you. You can call me out, that's fine. I don't pretend to be platinum +, but I played the champion EXCLUSIVELY all last season and for the majority of the season before. To put that into perspective, he is still my highest mastery champion despite not having touched him in months. I know what he does, I know how to be useful. The problem is you are useful ONCE. And your comment about him being a better duelist? I was exclusively talking about him as a support role.

Even as a support, his dueling power is there. In fact, it's still quite dangerous for a nother melee support to get too close to him because it only takes those 3 autos before he deals that huge chunk of damage and reposition you wherever he feels like. That much control is actually a lot of power. Of course if you don't want to eat them first, the stun you have is a strong one too. Heck, even that slow from his it is so good.

Now I've played him a lot too. Like you, he's the first champion I got mastery 7 on. But to this day, even after those changes, I still find him to be the most reliable support to play as. I personally still find him to be that good. Honestly, I'm really perplex about his current winrate.

I like seeing Tahm’s utility nerfed if it means he’s buffed in other ways.
