Xurreal3 votesThat's what he's saying. Aatrox would not fight unless he cannot be killed. In games he would lose, it was one-sided unless his team got ahead and threw hard. But he hard carried so well with a full build, there was no one who could stop him with a full build.
He was too reliable for getting wins on by just basic attacking all of the time.

Aatrox was at the highest winrate (top) ever since they buffed his kit before rework.
That's why they reworked him in the first place. His kit was too binary. Either he was too strong, or too weak. Thats what an auto attack drain tank looks like.

Most player were trash on him bc they didn't put time into him like I did ! I had 70% win rate with the old on now with the new Aatrox I got a 60% win rate that's it. Im pretty sure that the old aatrox beat the new one. With guinsoo + titanic he was god tier. This champion should never been reworked ! Please riot revert him like you did to leblanc and rengar. Give him 1 more chance. 3 season wasted for a bad rework...

hmm NO , the new aatrox is kitable , the old one with good usage of E and Q cannot be really kited and still deal massive damage with R in teamfights still there is counterplay that is CC chain , almost guaranted kill , but noo the new aatrox now is kitable and his gameplay just lies on all you said

they should give back his old q, maybe add a spring thing like zac so he's better at diving or something

I get why they had to do it because he was a drain tank that was very feast or famish. They have so much trouble playing from behind compared to other champ styles but.
I do understand why someone can be upset when their main changes. But I don’t think Riot ignores us and try their best to appease as many as possible.

Look at old Poppy. Old Urgot. Old Warwick. Master Yi. Old Galio. Sure you'll get a few dedicated mains, but... sometimes change is for the better. Is new Aatrox perfect right out of the gate? Probably not, I'm seeing that he's kinda clunky for most players. Does he have potential to have a playstyle that can be considered remotely healthy and balanced? Definitely more than the aa-drain-tank style from before.
You might have liked it, but that doesn't mean everyone else does. I mean, Yasuo players enjoy Yasuo, right?

Many champions have been deleted from the game and several of them delighted the general fanbase, all while leaving the mains out to dry. This is not the first time, nor is it likely the last time. What we do is hope that in the future we get more Warwicks and less Mordekaisers because you aren't going to stop Riot from getting rid of what they deem (sometimes rightly so) mistakes. So pull your pants up, take a deep breath, and figure out what you are doing next.
The scars of losing your main/one-trick/favorite never really heal, but you can find other things to like in the game. And though you may have been left with sorrow, there are others that have been given a dream come true.

So true. My first main was Akali, then Azir, then Kayle and now it's Shyvana. I also main Leona when autofilled. And when I main something, I really main it. I'm talking hundreds upon hundreds of games playing nothing but that champ and I've done it with each of them. You can always find something you like.

And btw his kit is cool aatrox could be a great champion but he is held back by so many intentional liabilities that he is just unplayable.
Those who say "hurr durr i have lot of success" yeah i beat the shit out of people in silver-gold flex q too. Doesn't mean he is good. He is still sitting at 45% winrate and "mains" on 53%. Meanwhile every other release in the last 6 months. And all this because "muh melee unreliable". Meanwhile champs like draven and lucian are not "unhealthy" or "statchecks" yeah right. Fuckin hyprocrisy at its finest.
And to your post: Riot doesn't rework cuz of buzzwords but to generate revenue. Otherwise pantheon and tryndamere would have been reworked ages ago but they always have decent to high playrates and well selling skins so fuck that. Hell trynda even gets buffed so i lose another 6 lanes by "haHAA critted you three times in a row xd".

Teridax682 votesI very much agree with this, but I also wish that we were more unified as a community when it comes to this kind of issue. I've seen a lot of people mocking players who stood up when a champion got their identity scrapped (e.g. "everyone's an Aatrox main now"), when the reality is that many of these players don't want the same to happen to their personal favorite, or just have the empathy to understand how one would feel about that happening to their main. Instead of dividing ourselves, we should send a clear message that preserving a champion's identity is essential to reworking them, and non-negotiable. If Riot could update Taric, Warwick, or Irelia in a manner that clearly had them remain the same champion to the near-totality of problems, they could have done the same to Aatrox, Galio, Swain, and probably even Poppy or Sion, the latter two I personally consider successful reworks. We need to look beyond simply our own apathy, beyond just the basic knowledge that these champions needed to change, and instead see together how those champions could have changed in a manner that stayed true to their old self. If we continue to pick each other apart every time this happens, some developers within Riot will continue to treat a champion's identity as a thing they can change completely on a whim.
