We currently have no ability in the game that can break or remove shields. Why not give it to THE duelist champion? We gave a dash stopping ability to THE peel champion 
and we made THE antimage actually scale well with mr

He even has a quote (his joke) that says "Find me an immovable object, and I'll put this question to rest!" That is a reference to the infamous sharpest spear vs the sturdiest shield, ie the irresistible force paradox.
Xin with shield-remove (at least on his "challenged" target) HAS TO be a thing, it's written all over the stars!

Also, 'THE Demacian Duelist' is Fiora. The hint is in the title. Xin Zhao is supposed to dive into the enemy team. 'Not even the odds can stand against me!' and all that.
NLGG3R BEATER1 votesHe's literally THE gladiator champ. And no It's not Draven, Draven just executes people who attempt to run away, Xin is supposed to charge into his desired target, knock all unwanted targets aside and eviscerate his victim. Shields should not be able to stop him; nothing should.
Gameplay wise Xin can both a duelist/skirmisher and a diver. If you build warrior/triforce/hydra on him he excels at diving. If you build rageblade/bork/visage on him however then he excels at luring 1v1/2/3/4s into him. Since his sustain is unparalleled and his DPS is tank busting.

Theres counterplay to everything. This has none. This is in the same boat as old wits end, and it's been suggested for champions before.

His ult, as now, and in most forms I could imagine is a skill shot, that takes time to travel, while also being rather short range, as it originates from Xin himself. It can be avoided with a well timed dash, or blink (including Flash) as well as proper positioning; the people most benefited by shield tend to be in the backline, and would likely be far out of range, provided their frontline is actively locking down or peeling the enemy team. I would not say it is unreasonable to expect carries to be able to avoid the ult in a teamfight, unless already caught out.

It's the one great skill in his kit, it fits himn as a duelist(createing a duel even in a teamfight), gives utillity to be usefull in teamfights aswell, even if behind. It also has alot of skill expression as timeing and positioning makes a huge difference. Not against giveing him some tools vs shields, but his ult is not the place for it.

That aside um every single champ in the game has the ability to remove shields save for Morgana's shield that only gets removed by AP champs. It's called damage and everyone does it.
LordGeovanni1 votesi like it despite maining fighters and tanks who have and need shields the most in fights though it usually gets saved for after they die and marksmen get collapsed on. Xin's ult would need a high cooldown even at level 3 though.
