90% of the time people honor the person who did the best

Koechophe··33 votes·13,220 views

A lot of times it has nothing to do with whoever was the most kind or chill. When I play mid and get fed, I get honored all day long. When I play support and spend the game trying to help and be positive, I rarely get any. Honor is supposed to be focused on being a positive player, but at the moment, that doesn't seem to be the case.

wow it's almost like people have free will

I think the point the op was trying to make is the current system is bad. When you could honor more then one person it was common to say "Wow I really enjoyed playing with that jungler, and support. But Top carried hard, so I will honor all 3"

Now people don't care about the people they enjoyed playing with, just the one that carries.

When I get support I get over twice as many honors as any other roles.

As an adc main I always honor my supp unless he was toxic

IainG105 votes

And we Support Mains appreciate it as much as our totally hardened little stone hearts can

Ifneth4 votes

I always honor enchanter supports if no-one else is deserving because I play immobile carries.

TotalJerk6 votes

When I don't know who to honor I usually just honor the support unless they were being a little shit.

TheCodeisCupCake2 votes

Yah same

Strigina14 votes

Strange, I play support and I always receive at least one honor from non-premade if I play with any. And I usually honor my adc if they weren't a prick.

In ARAM I just honor whoever fed the poro first.

Words to live by.

HaIlMonitor2 votes

I play by myself a lot in norms and premades always randomly choose someone that they are grouped with. Its annoying to get put in a group with 4.

Strigina1 votes

I play lot of games in full premade but when we are 4 premade we honor the fifth one if he really shined more than any of us. If not...well, why should I honor him if some of my friends did better in said game?

HaIlMonitor1 votes

That makes sense. Usually though they just give it to one of their party members even if I carried the game. Usually though too they end on a bad note because by 10 minutes they have all died 3+ times so we already lost lol.

DeathBurst1 votes

Not really. I only honor my premades as a last recourse, because Honors between premades have less value. Also, I often play solo in FlexQ, and I know how it feels, so when I'm in a premade, I make sure I don't forget the other players in the team.

And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one doing all of that.

An Angry Yordle1 votes

I'm sorry but theres not a lot of players like you.

DeathBurst1 votes

So hum, nice necro, but since we're here...

I do get Honors regularly even when I'm solo. When you get Key Fragments, you also get snippets of stats, and they also confirm that a lot of my Honors come from people not premade with me.

So all signs point to that people do give honors to non-premade.

An Angry Yordle1 votes

sorry, didnt realize the post was this old. I get a lot of honors as well but usually only if I play very well.

Dysnomia13 votes

I honor the person who had some gg interaction with me that i can remember in the end. I don't honor numbers.

One356 votes

As a number I feel deeply offended

An Angry Yordle1 votes

Same for me. For example if the jungler gives me blue even though I've been in a bad mood. Or a support that does everything to save my ass. Or sombody that had great synergy with me.

KazaJhodo9 votes

Absolutely. I always honor the player that did the best. I couldn't give half a fuck about how nice you were. Nice didn't win the game, skill, strategy, execution, won the game. Talk is fucking cheap, you don't get my one honor point per game because you were nice and thoughtful or some shit.

Great work, you have basic human interaction skills. Meanwhile we're getting fucked in lane, but you're all nice about it. No player in their right mind would weight 'being nice' over winning.

Unless they are one of those weirdos that plays a pvp online game, in ranked, and for some fucking reason value fun over winning. If you don't you should be in normals. Is this not obvious?

League lately always feels like, give it everything you have, but don't worry- your 'teammates' are inting. How much blinker do I need to cross eight lanes of traffic? Don't know, good luck ereybody! BOOM CRASH EXPLOSIONS FUCKYOUYOULOSEPOOPFACE RAHAHAHAHAHAHAA.

They didn't do it on purpose though. Its k, be nice. They only wasted 4 other peoples time. If we get to mute chat I want to mute inting. MAKE ME A FUCKING BUTTON. Please? Thanks.

You know its fucking bad when the mods in the forums say shit like, they shouldn't HAVE to use the mute button.

Ok genius volunteer mod- great, empart your wisdom upon us. Lets police the world and stop everyone from saying the words we don't like- whatever those words are at the time. Base blind ineptitude. Study some history and stop this shit already, it doesn't lead anywhere good.

Oh and while we're here, could we honor more than one person? I can report everyone, but only honor one... what the fuck? Why the negativity, lulz lulz lulz. Cue the circus music! I'm getting the fuck out.

ModPeriscope1 votes

Well there's not an honor category for "played well." And if you did honor someone that was being negative, well that's up to you.

Everyone has their own criteria for how they honor and report, but I would find it odd if you honored a player that was playing the best, but talked down to you during the game.

I wouldn't honor an asshole no. I'd take an asshole that played well over a nice person that fed any day. ANY DAY.

Is that confusing or something?

That's true.

Still, I wish the community would use Honor to foster a better attitude and reduce toxicity. After all, winning is already the reward for being useful, adding Honor on top of it feels a lot like double-dipping to me.

And, as one member of the community, I definitely use my Honor for that.

Amoc6 votes

Going to go ahead and also say that's not true.

People need to stop overthinking this. A lot of the time people in solo q barely even talk. If the game is going well, all anyone does is say, "GJ. Well done. Nice gank." In that case they're usually going to honor the player that did the best.

It's when a game goes south that things shake up a bit. Nobody cares at that point if the top laner is 3-1-5 if the rest of the team is struggling and he's flaming them. In the case, the worst feeder probably won't get any honors (nor should he really - he cost the game) but the rest of the team who chilled the F out and didn't talk crap will still often get "stayed cool" honors.

DeathBurst1 votes

I mostly agree, but I do happen to honor the "worst feeder" sometimes. A guy who lost lane hard and still stayed focused, didn't give up, and tried their best to be useful from behind definitely deserved a "Stayed Cool" in my book.

Not to mention that they can make good strategic call no matter their score. The feeder making a good call about a lane swap or a baron sneak is definitely redeemed.

Amoc1 votes

Nothing unreasonable about that. There's a difference between losing your lane and feeding, however.

Even so, it's pretty understandable that the person most responsible for the game's loss isn't likely to get many honors.

P0IS0N IVY6 votes

I always honor whoever I think did the best, whether that be in peel, objective calling, or overall gameplay. I generally see others do the same.

Woodakoodashooda4 votes

People want to win, winning makes them feel good, and if you win the game then they honor you for making them happy.

Starcraft243ver4 votes

When I dont know who to honor I always honor the supp if he was not toxic.

strut4 votes

Yes, if you weren't toxic/a complete dick and you carried you'll get the honor but there's nothing wrong with that. It's kind of like saying thanks for being the good teammate. We acknowledge and compliment great players or people that did most of the work in other sports too and acknowledging those are always going to mean more than acknowledging that someone was chill.

Malix Farwin3 votes

Probably has a lot to do with people's attitudes. No one's personality usually stands out in a positive way.

Killer of Night93 votes

Adc honor the supp and the supp honor the adc. The other role will honor the best player.

It's often true, but it's not as hard a rule as you make it sound.

Jungle never gets honored. No matter how many times they saved a team mate.

Sure it should be for positive players, but when you are desperate for wins and someone carrys your heavy ass you will honor him.

DoktorKaiser3 votes

My honoring "priorities" :

  1. my premade if he did well

  2. person who solo carried

  3. person who was super nice to me or saved me from death many times

  4. person who I flamed and they stayed chilled

  5. least toxic person if its that kind of game

  6. nobody if they are all feeding, toxic tards

Johnaldinho10172 votes

I mean it makes sense you enjoy playing with good players who are doing well. Personally I tend to honor the best player unless someone else is extremely positive and enjoyable to play with or the best player is being a dick.

IxozieI2 votes

I've found that it's not even about how hard you carry. For example I've had games with 20+ kills as jung and I don't get honored. Other games I've been like 7-3-21 and get 4 honors. I think it's mainly about how much of an impression you make on each player. Get all lanes fed + be nice to people = get honoured.

AlbertNewton1172 votes

Rather honor some toxic asshat that carried other than a support that fed ,but is being "positive".You can't mute int.

HalcyonDweller1 votes

dying =/= inting

intentional feeding is intentional. Feeding in and of itself happens all the time without the people who are doing it actually trying to do it.

i screamed at my teammates in all caps for an hour long game in solo/duo ranked. was a yasuo and went 19/20/7 with a 49% kp and 7.7 cs/m. I got two honors of gg.

it's not about what you say, but how you say it. if you say something completely out there like "WTF WHERE IS MY DIAMOND EVELYNN JUNGLER" when your jungler obviously forgot smite and so the team composition is a little wonky... people may laugh... or they may get upset and think you're talking about them.

Not typing or keeping your mouth shut in voice chat is gonna net you a lot of honors.

dunno, in my games usually the supportive picks get the most honor, no matter how good or bad they are, just because their picks are supportive...

I will always honor the player who's skill outshined the other players. I will never honor someone for sucking but were chill and positive. The goal of the game is to win. Whoever is the best in my eyes doing that will get honored. People honor what they want to honor for whatever reason. That's why the system is so stupid as well.

DeathBurst1 votes

Honor is supposed to be focused on being a positive player, but at the moment, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Yeah, the system is not perfect. But people won't honor flamers, even flamers who carried, so at least it's not THAT bad. It's mostly when no-one did anything out of the ordinary, then people tend to just honor the most skilled players, which isn't supposed to be the point, but it's not a terrible problem.

When I play mid and get fed, I get honored all day long. When I play support and spend the game trying to help and be positive, I rarely get any.

This doesn't match my experience.

When I play Top and single-handedly carry the game by splitpushing the enemy team to death but don't interact much with my team, I rarely get Honors. When I play Sup and just do my job, I get a lot of Honors, just because my job implies me staying with the rest of the team and they see me.

And when I do play Top, I often Honor the Support by default, so I'm a bit surprised by what you tell.

HalcyonDweller1 votes

90% of the time I honor whoever was the best teammate. Not player. Teammate. if they made good calls, or calmed someone down who was tilting (such as myself) or if they act humble or acknowledge fault when they do things wrong instead of blaming others.

Supports usually get honored the most these days...
