Remake Needs to be Less Selective

I've been seeing a lot lately (and it happened to me yesterday) people not being able to remake because remakes only trigger under certain circumstances.

Many people assume that if someone loads in and never leaves spawn and is afk at the start of the game, you're able to remake at 3 minutes.

Some of the time you aren't.

From what I understand, if the person loaded in and is simply afk or reconnects and is afk, you cannot remake.

If they DC'd loading in and never reconnect, you can.

The problem with this is that there's literally no difference between someone sitting in spawn for 3+ minutes because of a DC and an afk. Either way, the game has been impacted, but you're only allowed to remake under one of those scenarios.

Why isn't remake set so that simply not being active at all for 3+ minutes triggers a remake?? Like if I load into game and I'm afk why shouldn't my team be allowed to remake the game? I'm not doing anything, my laner has gotten free cs, I'm behind even if I do come back.

There is no reason a team should be forced to play a 4v5 because their teammate happened to load in but is just afk for longer than 3 minutes in spawn.

I agree a quick remake when you only have 4 would be nice. My concern though would be people using this to get out of a match they don't like. It would be simple enough for someone to afk and hae a remake go through. What would be the punishment? How would the system tell that you haven't left spawn yet? Overwatch's afk timer has been something of a thorn in my side for a long time and I wouldn't want to see the same thing happen to league. Occasionally I let my kids play to the woe of my teammates because they think the game is fun even if they deserve to be in the bronze 5 of bronze 5s. It takes a week just to get past all the penalties they accrue in 1 afternoon.

Well I'd assume that everyone reports the DC (I at least always do) but if you use this often to get out of a match you should be punished for it and it should count as a loss or something.

I'm not sure how their remake system currently works, as in how it tells when to remake and when to not, but the game obviously has a way of telling if you're afk already as I have been kicked before for inactivity at least once. I think you have to be afk for 5 minutes and then it kicks you and you have to reconnnect. So already theres a system of afk timers, they just need to somehow apply that to remakes and make it so that remakes work with afk'ers too.

I just don't think it's fair that people decide to afk and then it ruins the game for their teammates at 3 minutes when they realize they can't remake it...happened to me and I was demoted shortly after because of another loss, and I've had it happen twice recently to other players I faced too :/

I agree.

Even if the remake option is not given, give the winning team a small amount of LP and DO NOT take away full LP loss from the 4-man team. MMR is "balanced" so losing one member is a huge problem. It makes no sense to punish 4 players when one guy was the problem.

For abuse, the afk gets leavebuster and loses LP. They can track if someone constantly parties with a leaver for boosting. Obviously can time limit it if needed but a leaver at 20 still bad like one at 10.

I fully agree with this.

If it's not gonna remake the game because of the afk then the team of 4 should not be penalized for the loss. At that point I don't think anyone should lose lp if it really HAS to force the game for 20 minutes.
