oh look celerity is getting buffed to 10% from 8%

... riot. all this does is make the new celerity give almost the exact same speed boost it did before the change wqhile under the effect fromthe speed boost, minus the 1.5% when not under effect. rather than being a flat nerf in every single way

it doesn't address the fact that, some champions NEEDED the conversion to actually be viable because for an entire year they were balanced buffed and nerf around having it that conversion. this fixes the champion that only took it for the speed boost but does not fixed the champions that took it for the conversion ratio.

im not saying u cant make this change work with 10%... but you're still going to need to then individually address each of the champions they got drastically hurt by the removal of the conversion, that didn't NEED nerfs

including by not limited to Nidalee Hecarim.

now i can give you a essay about how u can fix nidalee, which i have been perfecting over three and a half years. and tell u exactly how to fix her.

Edit: link here to options of how to fix her https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/TKUYNxpl-ty-for-the-nidalee-lore-update-but-now-we-need-to-address-her-balance

but you will need to go elsewhere to find fixes for the other champions

now granted the "balance" changes of pbe aren't listed yet, but.. yeah... i have been here 6 years, i know not to expect you to do things properly, I'm not going to "Assume" you are until i see it on pbe.

Just delete the sorcery tree and put everything in domination. Its what they're doing anyway.

LOL pretty much

i mean there isnt a single rune worth taking in the sorcery tree outside of manaflow band, and waterwalking, and gathering storm

the magic damage shield is sometimes useful as well but that's about it. I don't think they should remove the whole tree, rather just replace celerity and similar stuff

you missd the part where it is still only "10% of BONUS move", I would guess?

so its still useless.

no i didn't a 10% bonus move is roughly the same the same as the 1.5% movement speed.. for MOST movement speed boost. the difference is, now u don't get the speed bonus unless u are under the effect of the boost.

but the biggest hit was the removal of the conversion ratio.

and actually i just look at the new pbe notes for 8.24

and the item 3812 now healing off AP as well could potentially be very significant to nidalee.. because it now means she can build the item to get the 33% burst damage reduction without paying for a sat she could never use.. i would need to test it.. but this has the potential to make AD nidalee top viable again assuming she can live long enough to finish it.

its actaulyl quite concerning.. i am aware most AD champs dont buy it but the fact that it makes you need to taker 143% lethal damage to die is absolutely massive and i have been calling her nerfs to this for a LONG time.. ever since it was buffed from 15%.

now that ap champs.. a class who has never had any access to damage reduction.. now have access to a previously only AD stat. this would mean mages could get a LOT harder to burst down. and would make this item the thing we have been always asking for.

this change is potentially HUGE, not that any mage with a AD or hybrid ratio could in theory pick it up.. i definitely am going to test it out.

it may not work.. but if it does... its going to be HUGE

you still. dont. get. it.

If you dont buy any movement speed items.. you get ZERO BENEFIT.

no bonus movement speed? no celerity bonus. since practically noone buys boots as first item.. this means that celerity is literally useless early game. Which means it is pretty much a useless rune now.

... lol if u think its works with movement speed items your going to be sorely disappointed... it doesn't effect boots or items, just ms from skills.

unless u have a MS boost in your KIT you cant get ANY use it.. movement items aren't going to help.

and i bloody well know u don't get ANY benefit from it if your not using a speed boost skill. i don't care about that anyways.

again your wrong to assume that i don't understand that "no movement speed bonus" means no benefit. in fact YOU are wrong if u think its works of movement speed bonus from items... it doesn't... its coded MUCH worse than than

if u have t2 boots with a 30% speed boost skill it isn't even going to all 30 percent you got.. its only going to take 10% off of what 30% you would have gotten if u have NO ms items.

so your not even getting 33% bonus... your getting

your getting BASE ms multiplied by your speed boost your speed boost % divided by ten... and then you add THAT to it.

the new celerity is trash... its absolute garbage.

the fact that u think it increases the benefit of boots when it doesn't makes it WORSE than even YOU think it is.

who about you spend more time learning about how it actually works than trying to tell people their "wrong"

So it counts boots, a 5 second trip to the practice tool will confirm this. If I remember correctly, at the current 8% it's 2ms for T1 boots, 4ms for all t2 other than Mobis, and 9ms for mobis with passive active.

T2 boots plus 2 Zeal items is 7ms.

Not trying to make a claim as to if that's good or not, but lets please try to keep the information accurate.

well maybe they changed the coding since i tested it at 13% on pbe. i haven't played a single game in patch 8.23. not since they change ruined my main... seeing as all Nidalee cares about is the 8 ap she previously got from celerity during her passive at lvl 1-3 clear and how it it combines with water-walking to give her just barely a change in hell at contesting scuttle.

and losing that 8 ap means it now it now takes her an extra pounce for every cam with multiple monsters, which is a minimum 4 seconds more per camp. all the wile that's 4 more second of u getting hit roughly adding `20 second to hear first clear and making for take damage from the camps that much longer.. on what was already a bad clear.

if scuttle was reverted it wouldn't matter as she could then go into river to heal and get vision... but with scuttle being contested.. that's no longer an option unless u are healthy enough to contest it...

so its entirely possible they changed the coding on pbe before they sent it live., i guess my info is out of date.

Nid top is pretty close to being viable again tbh with the rune changes. She really just needs some mid/late game power returned. With that being said while death's dance will be a fun item to build it's not going to be what makes her viable again considering AD nid still doesn't do damage.

nid has never had late game power.. and the only reason top is more viable than jungle is becuase jungle sucks right now nidalee firsyt clear is too hard and the nerf to celerity hit her REALLY hard in the jungle. but as the biggest issue right now is burst damage if she can surive that burst to get her heal off she would be much better off. also takedown DOES scale off AD. it converts that damage into ap yes but it scales off both ad and ap.. with a hybrid build its possible nid could get tanky enough.. to survive long enough to get here heal off or to use takedown which would then actaulyl heal off deaths dance.

i dont thin this would improve her jungle as she would need to grab it after item 1402 item 3020 and item 3100 by which time the game has probably been decided either way.

but in top lane she could theoretically grab it first item

WindLord70701 votes

Not sure where you see me saying takedown doesn't scale with AD. Anyway nidalee wasn't exactly a late game champion but she didn't fall off as hard back in the day and used to actually have a power spike with level 16 ult. Currently top nid just falls off way to damn fast to be viable unless you can tilt the enemy top laner enough to rage quit. Almost every other champion in the game is more useful than nid even when behind. Also she for sure is not better top than she is in the jungle currently. Her first clear really isn't as bad as you are making it out to be. Does she need help? Yes absolutely.

I don't know what you smoke because I checked back Hecarim changes and the dude got pretty much only buff since the new runes were set-up...

If anything, he never got a nerf after gaining predator and the celerity giving him bonus stat depending of speed.

I think the goal from riot is to make people walk faster if they buy boots (since boots are bonus movement speed) and to still enhance champions that like movement speed boost (Udyr, Hecarim, Rammus... Possibly gnar with his kiting, etc).

People here complained about damage creep, celerity giving AD/AP was aids, it is good riddance.

Ps: Also WTF you talk about Nidalee? The champion is a very strong jungler and loosing celerity didn't affect her...

Metal Janna1 votes

I like the change. Damage creep needs addressed and removing the extra damage on a movement speed rune seems like a good start. Also my one-trick can take it to outplay Pyke dashes 10% more successfully.

LordGeovanni1 votes

No one gonna mention that this is a useless rune on melee fighters or tanks.

The sorcery tree is becoming a meme to be fast at this point. Also to note, mage mains who are not going domination are just losers this patch.

...Aside from cass.
