I firmly believe we need a new division next season

Going to keep this short and sweet.

Complaint: Silver feels like a mess, bronze feels way more consistent.

What do I mean?: Silver I get so many different types of players, from prodigies, to people who were obviously boosted by friends, down to just plain normal silvers, than you have the smurfs, and the players who have been playing this game for years. it's honestly just a cluster of people of many different kinds.

Bronze: actually has only two types of players. The bad and the good. Many players are just straight up bad, because of this the good players can get out fast with little effort. My evidence? The fact I have never finished a single season stuck in bronze and never will. Not even being cocky, it takes me a few days to a week to get out of bronze when the season starts depending on how seriously im playing.

Solution: Just make an elo below bronze. This will kick out the bronze players who are stuck in bronze 5 and honestly deserve to be demoted. This will make quality of life better for both bronze players and silver players. And most importantly it will stop people from abusing the end of the year ranked exploit where all you need to do is win 3 games to get silver. And it will make bronze no longer a insult, for they can say "hey at least im not _____" While also making silver and gold respectable positions again.

That is all.

It would fix many problems. League of legends NA currently has A LOT of players who actually play this game. Granted not all play ranked, but when you create another division, you divide it even more so. That's why it's called "division" the more divisions you have the more you break it apart in terms of skill, where people are truley where they belong. For example in Diamond, since the player base is so small people will go as far to say "the difference between a person in diamond 1 vs someone in diamond 3 is night and day" This is because they have much less players, so that 2 division difference truly does make a difference.

In Bronze-Gold we don't have that level of division simply because so many players are playing this game. adding a 4th division to "low elo" Would increase the divide and thus make the skill distinction between each elo more obvious. for someone who is stuck in "wood" would obviously be no where near a silver player. maybe this picture i'll draw will make it more clear.

In Graph 1 we have a giant circle to reccomond how big league of legends NA is, and this is what it would look like if they all played together if we had no ranked/division system. Graph 1 looks pretty big and intimidating right? A giant cluster fuck eih? colors everywhere, no orgnization, completely random red dots and purple dots.

Graph 2: Much improvement, bronze-Gold having the biggest populations, but are kept seperate for their is a clear difference of skill as they achieved a spot that they earned. Interaction betweeen elos kept at a minimum Except for high elo where the population is so small they have no choice to interact, however bronze and silver, they are so big, surely not all of them are equal in skill are they?

Graph 3: The division increased even further, notice how bronze and silver shrink tremendously but the lowest elo isn't bigger than bronze. I believe this would happen for not many people are actually extremely bad at this game to be in such a elo. However this would improve the quality of life for both Bronze and silver, for said players are kept as far away as possible from them.

I completely agree with this. The last division (Master) was basically opened to help differentiate the top players that are LCS material and those who are not. Problem with the lower tiers is everything you've said. Who you get on your team decides who wins, and the skillbase is so diverse that you can go on a 9 game win streak, thinking you're amazing, to a 10 game losing streak JUST from trolls, AFK's, or other players that were simply carried.

I mean the best players will always climb, but kicking out the bad players from bronze/silver would be a huge help to make it easier. Frankly i'm most sick of the end of the year exploit where all u need is three games to get silver, the exploit is over 3 years old and still exists.

Yea I really hate playing in silver these days. Happy to be back in gold and actually enjoy my games now (albeit I don't play much ranked these days). But climbing back through silver this season after being gold 3 and dropping to bronze 1 was a shit show. Had me fired up. Games are just so inconsistent like you said.... just too many variables and skillsets of players. It's really hard to guess what the enemy and your team is thinking each game because one game a player will be a fresh level 30 new to ranked and the next you will be playing a 7-8 year vet like myself. Makes it hard to get into a groove. People can say what they want but playing the game and different styles at each elo is part of climbing. Your not going to be a challenger player and playing Janna support in silver. You going to go some carry and plan on getting 20-30 kills a game and just 1v9ing.

First off, bronze, silver, gold, etc are tiers not divisions; bronze 5 and bronze 4 are different divisions.

Secondly, matchmaking is done by mmr anyway, and rank has no impact on who people are matched with. As such, even if there was a wood tier, everyone would still be matched with the same people as they were before.

Adding a new lower division would just make the worst players feel worse, and I feel like that is a poor cause.
