Yeah how about you stop blaming supports for you feeding?

Succubús GF··42 votes·2,768 views

I usually play somewhat oddball supports (Elise, orianna etc.) Someone with utility, I find it works. Of course I usually get "Supp noob " "Flame flame flame" For the adc going in 1v4 under a turret and i ping them to back off. As if i was a real support would have any effect on that out come. If I was nami or soraka, I would still ping to back off and leave you there. I am not going to give a double kill because you were too stupid to listen. So tired of being blamed for others' mistakes. Just note my last game, the garen went i think 0/9 -ish kda, he was definitely feeding and i was like 1/3/5 . "Elise so bad omg". Like how stupid

  1. Disable /all chat. You will never or almost never read anything useful there.
  2. Mute everybody who starts flaming after the very first really offensive line. Something like "Elise, wtf was that" is ok, something like "Elise, you are bad" - instant mute. DON'T ANNOUNCE THAT YOU MUTE.

you'll be surprised at how much more enjoyable your games will become and how you will be able to concentrate on gameplay

And then comes the third, the most fun: 3) Improve your play. Even if your adc sucks royally, maybe you could actually fight and win or at least save him? Sometimes the answer is "yes". Also sometimes you can roam / force grouping and switch to supporting the most fed person on your team

Why not annouce you're muting?

Why not annouce you're muting?

First, you are actually told not to in the summoners code iirc. Second, why? What do you get out of telling people other than trying to slap a little salt at them before you sign off?

Honestly its not that big a deal to announce it, but ultimately useless to do so. Probably 90% of the time people say it they lie cause they want to see the dramatic reaction of having said they muted someone. You could try "Please stop, Id rather not mute people/you" to get people to calm their toxic chatter, but if it doesnt work mute and move on.

I cant argue with this advice. Its exactly what I do already and it works.

But, I prefer the not supporting the toxic player(s). You'd be surprised how much more cooperative they become when they realize you arent going to save them, ever.

I actually like to announce muting and dont mute them. Most of the times they just stop flaming and actually start playing silent.

Welcome to support. It's a small group, able to shake off any abuse we get. And we get a lot of abuse. It's always your fault, unless it's the fault of the jungler, who is really just a roaming support anyway. So it's always the support's fault. Just accept this and move on.

As a support main, I have heard it all. (Also, I wanna try that support Elise! I have played support Nidalee though! You should try it.) If anything, just go to a different lane. This way, you can't mess it up. :D [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I love going nid support! Its super fun to spear them when they are under turret. Also elise support is great, but only pick it if they have squishies. It is harder to execute tanks like thresh

People don't understand that just because someone is playing something Meta, it wont miraculously save them from their own stupid mistakes. Especially not for Supports because they rely on a good (Note: Good) ADC to get optimal results. Even a complete heal bot like Soraka needs an ADC with half a brain to be optimal. Yes. I get that not all ADC players are familiar with every Support they work with and sometimes it's best to play safe, but don't play like you're unable to see any enemy units besides the ones that provide easy gold.

Gary B Enkelis4 votes

Even Soraka would appreciate people sidestepping the damage (when possible). :D

VoidStaresBack1 votes

Please yes, I get tired of my ADC soaking every skillshot that comes their way on the assumption that I can heal it all. Yeah, I can, in time, but you realize just how much of my own health and mana I'm having to burn through to keep your sorry ass alive.

Im probably going to get downvoted to oblivion for saying this but I absolutely hate it when supports sit there right next to me and do absolutely nothing for me when im 2 v 1'ing. Im going to try and be as civil in saying this as possible.

"doing nothing" is a term pretty broadly used by ad carries who just want to pin them losing lane on someone, thats not what im saying here.... Im saying when the support sits in the bush as thresh texting their girlfriend for all lane phase, and im picking up kills 1 v 2 solo and they dont even get an assist. or when im in that 1 v 2, and I happen to fuck up because im a gold scrub, they walk out and remain 0/0 and flame me all game for being a "typical shit adc".

Im picking out thresh here because if a support is doing absolutely nothing for me and they flame me for dying its usually a thresh, ive had some really fucking cool people who play off meta shit and carry my ass to victory. I'd rather have an AP ezreal support or an ahri support over an alistar who never combo's anyone, or saves his ulti for when hes just about to die to an auto attack.

Could I play better as an adc? absolutely, but not all supports are free of sin, just needed to say my two cents. if this post gets ignored or downvoted to oblivion I dont care I just wanted to say my piece. Thank you.

Yeah, because it's always their fault, and never yours.

Like, never, ever, your fault.

Succubús GF1 votes

Right, because you totally shouldnt be to blame for the ad carry going 0/8 ^.^ No matter what reasoning you use, it is inexcusable to blame a support who is 0/2/5 for feeding when the carry is 0/8/3 i agree

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Even when the ADC plays safely and supposedly everything "perfectly", they still die like flies.

So, botlane gets camped, your ADC gets focused, and you have all the available tools to save them and turn fights so they can feed less? OMG ADC IS BAD BETTER RUN MY KDA IS GOOD SO I'M NEVER TO BLAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah no.

Julanus1 votes

Sometimes, there really is nothing a Support can do to keep their laner alive.

Games like the one described sound like a bot laner that does not stop fighting or positions poorly, and having a support following right next to them will generally be treated as a reason to be even more aggressive.

If you're going to try to save the overextending carry from death, then you can only hope they actually try to escape/get to a safe position.

Sometimes, the Support can do more, but sometimes, using everything at your disposal just isn't going to be enough.

Phoquelesanimaux2 votes

Check his history, this guy never buys sightstone. Problem solved.

Phoquelesanimaux3 votes

I'm pretty sure they don't only blame you for that. When I checked your history I saw that you **never **buy a fucking SIGHTSTONE.

Half of your games as a support you're not even the first one in warding and I've seen couple of games where you were the last of your team in that category. That's a real shame and that's why we can consider you're a bad support (even if you don't realize).

You will say "but he died alone blablabla". Yeah sure but you don't help your team to understand the potential dangers if you don't help them to know the actual enemies positions.

I main support and I'm never blamed when my laners die with warded bushes while I ping them. Actually they're more likely to apology...

If you don't realize how valuable is a sightstone, play a slow ADC with a support like you (who doesn't like to ward and prefer to deal damages) against a team that has hard engage/hard cc. Have fun !

chipndip13 votes

Jump on that good old op.gg

"Oh look, another guy that forgoes Sightstone and plays wonky shit in the support role because he won once or twice doing that".

You know, you may be a bigger pain in the ass than you think when you pull that stuff. There's a reason why some champs are designed as supports and others aren't. Going 1/5/5 as a champion that doesn't even do well after early game because "I'm a special snowflake" isn't exactly "fine", especially when your adc is going 7/2/4 in the game you're complaining about. How is he 7/2/4 and you're feeding? If your adc is doing well and you clean aren't, something is wrong.

Long story short: Yea, that Garen fed. Doesn't mean you didn't. Also, buy item 2301 please.

If you're playing champs with projectile stuns, what are you doing dying trying to peel? When you land your cc, you're done. Watch your death count and stop feeding, please.

Also, if you want FQC that bad, please build one item 2045. Build some sort of vision. If you don't, that's one more ass-backwards thing you're doing while whining about everyone around you.

Marshbouy3 votes

if they have 100% kp and only 20% death participation then it's not feeding.

Awhegark4 votes

0-8 is feeding no matter what kind of excuse you can come up with. They have fed 8 kills worth of gold.

zlumpy11 votes

If those 8 kills resulted in your team getting even even numbers of kills or greater than I'd argue those 8 deaths are totally worth it. See your argument has no context and that is veeeeeeery important when debating something.

Awhegark2 votes

"If those 8 kills resulted in your team getting even even numbers of kills or greater than I'd argue those 8 deaths are totally worth it."

Your argument also didn't have any context. You created a what if scenario. I can play that game too. What if they fed 8 kills to a master Yi who from that point forward didn't allow any of your teammates to get kills or objectives.

MeBuffULongTime2 votes

Sometimes we run into the charging enemy and subsequently die so y'all can run away and live. I've done it time and time again on Thresh...he's really good at it lol. But yeah, you gotta remember that some of those deaths may be intentional for the greater good of the team.

Tyto Mors2 votes

you get that regardless as sup, its either the adc doesnt do anything to help, or the adc tries to everything even while being pinged to fall back. then they die and flame, or you die because the adc isnt attacking the enemy under your tower for some reason and flames.

I played support to climb higher in gold, and i tended to play sups who can tank and have high cc, usually leona. leona can lvl 3 engage pretty much anyone comp bot lane that doesnt include morg or ez. I tell my adc pretty much everygame that if possible, that we are going to engage lvl 3. this usually happens, and it tends to work, but when it fails it usually because 1) adc w8'ed way to long to go in with me. 2) adc decides to focus wrong target or 3) I fucked up somehow. surprisingly, it's usually 1 and 2, not saying that 3 doesnt happen though.

Lyipheoryia2 votes

Welcome to the group. I'm a jungler and support main-the two roles that get blamed.
Some players tend to see themselves as superior because they play in a 'more important' role (as so they think), a more damage-oriented champ, etc and if something goes wrong-they don't know how to explain it. Who do they blame it on? The players that don't play those kind of champs or go into those roles. Supp. And Jungle. Top rarely gets flamed unless they're feeding-and mid almost never gets blamed. ADC usually prefer to do the yelling at the supp, probably because they're had a better supp in the past and are comparing you to them. It sucks~

My advice: Mute. But if you're like me and don't like muting people (so you can still know what's going on within the game)-just be a Lux . No, seriously. If they talk about how bad you are and start saying some real mean things, go be a Lux and say, "Stay positive! Focus on the Enemy!". If they're feeding and doing it purposely, give them a smiley face and go, "Never give up. You can do it!". This...doesn't always work-and you may end up getting flamed more; but it is quite funny to see their reaction. And it does make you feel better to see some positive stuff in the chat.

You are right. But really, I am feed up with trying hard and all my job is wasted because of ussless or, say it by name, dumb ADC. My main role i support, always, for a second Im using "fill" option, because Im sure Ill get my supp. For a very long time I skiped rankeds play, just do placements, get gold after placements, and leave it for a reward, if Rito is going to give them. Now after placements I got Gold 3, so after 7 wins and 3 losts in placemnts I thought that it is high time to go to plat. So thus I began journey through fields of unskilled person, flame and hatred. Support, in my opinion, is te hardest role in game. Not only you must carry your adc, read movements and know when to attack etc. but also you must help rest of team. It is better to sacrifice one and let rest escape than run as sup and leave few temates to die. According to gold gain supps are even less worthy in gold coz of lack of kills. Now Iam around 14 wins and about 20 losts. Mostly games are so one sided. Even doing my very best I just cant carry it, and support shouldn't carry whole game. Im sure that in verry beggining it is up to us, supps, to carry, but in the end is up to teamates to do dmg and win fights. Being flamed and accused of "feeding" dicourage me from even doing anything. I know that I am not pro player, but I feel like kind of bored during games, because of difference in skill levels of my teamates and enemies.

Now going to my question, how to stay "possitive" and not discouraged by others toxic players and this broken MM. Relly, I don't care if I lost or win as long as every player gives his or hers best and don't blame. My plan is to play as solo player to prove that solos can do something, but as far as I can see, solo support can't do anything. I don't like to mute others but I think I start, but still problem with skill difference in this MM stays. Any advices how to carry lows and enjoy game?

Mostly I play Leona, bewcause of her CC and tankines, but of course it depends on enemies, I stopped carrying about what adc will pick because at thi skill level it really doesn't matter. Also I tried Janna, Soraka and Zilean.

Please supp bros, help your fellow role mate and give some advices how not to give up at this great role.

Ha. This is almost exactly the same situation I came across the other day. I was playing with one of my many supp main friends-except-this time, I was playing supp, and she was playing ADC. It's amazing how fast someone can switch between attitudes to different roles, and-as soon as the game started-she began telling me to 'stop farming and save the farm for me', 'stop dying and running away', etc. It's almost like I had no role in the game other than to stand in a bush and heal/shield her. It's especially annoying when someone tells you to stop farming so that 'they can level up'. It's almost like you don't matter-and that you don't need to level up.

Things like this started happening a lot: people not playing their roles, salty and tilted people, afk people, people feeding-so I asked another League friend of mine for some help. What he told me, was basically 'if you know you're going to lose, just go practice. Practice farming, practice roles you wouldn't normally do (ganking, being a tank, etc). Make use of the rest of the time in game to practice for future games," Of course, this advice would be a bit harder to work out in a ranked game-but I'd just say to try your best and-instead of thinking it as 'oh-no-I-lost-another-ranked-game', think of it as 'now-I-have-more-practice-for-my-next-ranked-game'.

ManiacalCoyote1 votes

I'm normally Jg Nasus, and I often have people call me worthless because I don't gank before 200 stacks. Am I bad?

Lyipheoryia1 votes

You're bad only if you think so yourself. If you're trying your best and still dying or falling to traps-you're not bad. You just need more practice.

As a Kindred main, I used to always get flammed early-game because of how squishy she (I prefer she-since Lamb is a she, and lamb is the character you mainly control in-game) is. She can die with literally two hits from a tanky enemy, and her sustain and health only go up around mid-game. People ask me for ganks, and I die. People then get mad, and become salty. But I'm not a 'bad' Kindred player. I'm just trying my best. After a bit of practice on her, a lot of guides and youtube videos-I can now successfully go from jg camp to camp without needing a health potion or a recall. Early-game. I can gank and kill enemies-and it'll all because of practice.

So nobody's bad-unless they say so themselves. Until they give up on trying.

Ruin Lance2 votes

actually this isn't them "blaming supports for them feeding"

the reason they are blaming you is because you're doing some unconventional off-meta pick.

not saying that it justifies them blaming you but people will always go to blame the off-meta picks if they have one and are doing bad.

Marshbouy1 votes

Got told by a 8/2/5 vayne that ori sucked as a support. I was 2/3/14 at the time.

Tyto Mors2 votes

constant poke, slows, shields, ms boost. cc ult that does decent dmg. tell me how ori sup sucks. she can even just poke the enemy out with her autos earlier in game because of her passive.

Gary B Enkelis1 votes

I think the problem with Orianna is her mana costs (I don't know) but I guess it's not a problem in skilled hands. Good point about the autos. Do you like attack speed runes?

A Latte Deaths4 votes

Yeah, her mana costs are really high early game so she's basically just a shield bot until she gets a Frostfang and a Tear or Chalice.

Don't take attack speed runes. Attack speed runes will only benefit Orianna's passive whereas AP runes benefit both her passive--which scales off of AP--and her abilities.

The issue with Orianna support is that she brings hardly anything to lane except for her shield. She has a measly slow for cc, and while her damage is pretty good, her mana costs keep her from using her zoning/poke to its fullest potential until she gets some mana items. In the mid~late game, she has very little means to protect her ADC aside from a shield, a slow, and a speed boost. In conclusion, she's only mildly useful throughout the game, being outclassed in nearly every aspect (aside from her wombo potential) by many other supports.

That said, if you enjoy playing Orianna support, keep playing it. Even though it isn't necessarily optimal, you can definitely make it work.

Tyto Mors1 votes

throw shield on adc, slow/ms boost, if needed then ult.
