KDA and Ranked

From what I hear, kda really doesn't mean anything at all in ranked and tbh I think it should play some part in where you are. You could go 20 kills and maybe 3 deaths one game and lose because the rest of your team feeds. You did great, but maybe you have an afk in that game or someone is toxic and now you lose and have the loss count against you even though you did fine.

I feel like ranked would be way more accurate if it took into account how well YOU did that game as well as if you won or lost, especially if you are in bronze or silver because those can be hard to get out of. Wins and losses would still count for most of it, but maybe you'd gain or lose more points depending on how well you actually did that game.

This would also prevent people being carried to higher ranks that they shouldn't be in. If it measures your wins and losses as well as how you did, I feel it'd be more accurate.

It may already do this, idk, it still confuses me but I've been told it doesn't look at kda at all

I kind of feel the same way, i mean its not just k/d, but k/d/a so supports and jungles get the love too. Obviously, there is more to the game than just k/d/a but mine for the last 3 seasons has been 3.0-3.1. Better than anyone on my friends list except my gold 2-3 friend who is at like 3.4. But he is pretty damn good.

Exactly. Like, I'm not saying only focus on kda but at least take it into account. You should be put in a rank based on how well you do and it shouldn't really depend so much on luck. You have to work well with your team, but in silver and bronze people don't have much communication and I feel that there are more trolls, feeders, and afkers.

You could do great in a game and end up losing but it doesn't recognize your individual score at all so how is it supposed to give you an accurate rank?

nop caise this is not call of duty

you play for objectives not for kda its better to die 50 times and destroy enemy nexus than lose with a 50 - 0 score

im not saying play for kda, but wins and losses have some amount of luck in them. 1 toxic person or afker can ruin your game when you yourself played fine. Wins and losses should count, yes, but if it took into account how well you also did in game then your rank would be more accurate.

Taking into account how well the team did and how well you did is more accurate then basing it on the overall outcome. How well you play is also an important thing that isn't recognized

The problem with KDA having influence is it unfairly punishes tanks and supports that keep their carries alive. While everyone will be excited going 8/2/4 as an ADC and getting bonus LP, your tank that sets up engages and kept you alive will have a lower KDA going 2/6/15. That is where the problem lies in doing anything KDA related.

I agree it sucks to do well and still lose but the objective of the game is to destroy the enemy nexus. getting kills is only an alternative way to get power.

yea, but you will lose 95% of the games you play and go 0-50 and win 95% of the games where you go 50-0. I would rather have my ranked be based on my ability to perform consistently rather than carrying super hard and throwing super hard.

If you go 20/3/## and don't win the game, then you made some serious mistakes and obviously need to work on stuff to get better at the game.

There is A LOT more to this game than laning phase or how well you can play X champion.

Once again, im not saying only count kda. Wins and losses should count, but there is still some luck with them. You could feed the whole game and have your team carry you, or do the best in your lane and hold your lane down fine but have the rest of your team feed. Depending on who you are playing, you may not be able to carry.

It is a team game and counting the overall outcome of the game and how well YOU did would give you a more accurate rank. Just counting the wins or losses isnt very accurate

If you cannot consistently play smart and only win by getting carried, you will not climb.

All roles can carry, you just have to figure out how they do it.

It's actually pretty accurate. Can you think of another system that allows for an infinite variety of team comps and play styles that doesn't have a favoritism for anything or isn't easily exploitable?

The beauty of the current system is that it accounts for all of the variables in a game in a short and simple way: "Did X strategy/team comp/playstyle win the game and how consistantly does it do that?"

My question to you is why would taking KDA into account give you a more accurate ranking?

It would give you a more accurate ranking because your rank wouldn't solely be based on if you won or lost games, but it would also take into account how well you play for where you are.

If you are in bronze and you keep losing games because your team feeds or afks or is toxic, but you yourself did very well and did what you are supposed to do, it wont matter because the game was lost. It doesn't take into account how well you did that game, only that you lost. A lot of factors go into the outcome of a game and some of them can't be controlled and will influence the rest of the game. Taking into account how WELL you did as well as the outcome of the game would be more accurate than just seeing if you won or lost.

In silver and bronze there isn't as much communication as there is in the higher tiers. It also seems that there are more toxic players in the 2 bottom tiers that will effect games. It makes them harder to get out of because afkers and toxic people WILL effect your game. It solely counts the outcome of the game and doesnt take into account how well you actually played that game.

Wins and losses are important and you want to try and win, not saying they shouldnt count, but im saying if it looks at how WELL you played too then it could judge better where you should be

Then you need to help make plays that pull up your losing lanes. The loss is also your fault and don't deserve to increase your ranking just because you did well in your lane. That is one thing that including KDA in the ranking would discourage, team play. It will promote the mentality of "Why TP/roam down to bot/mid/top lane and potentially get killed, when I can kill my laner for the 5th time and get more MMR."

The biggest thing that propelled my Ranking from B1 to S3 in about 2 weeks is taking TP and ganking my losing lanes when the enemy overextends. You will be surprised how effective that can be at turning around games.

Toxic players see toxicity. I've only really had 3 or 4 games (out of 80+ Ranked games) with a lot of toxicity and it has always been because people just flat our refused to communicate like a normal human.

Wins and losses are important and you want to try and win, not saying they shouldnt count, but im saying if it looks at how WELL you played too then it could judge better where you should be

If you didn't win, how well did you really play? Whenever I lose there are always things I think of that I could have done better and I find plenty of mistakes to work on. If you work on those things, you will find yourself winning more games and you will climb.
