You're not connected to the game servers in the client though therefore it's not possible to show ping.

Yes PLEASE.

I don't know the value of telling me my shitty ping while I'm loading into the game, it's too late to do much at that point. It's basically just taunting me at that point. "Oh, you thought you were going to have a fun game? Brace yourself for 1159 ms latency, bitch!"
