It's a team game. I might completely disagree with the idea that we can pull it out, but if the team disagrees I'm not going to sulk because they don't agree. As I said, I have seen one game where we pulled it out even though at the end we were down by 34 kills. (we had 46 the other team had 80). IN truth the game should have ended around the 30:00 mark. We were ahead in gold after 26 minutes but they were pushing our turrets constantly and dominating everything except dragon. (I was grabbing every dragon I could from bot lane and they weren't stopping me - ADC Jinx) However, the other team stopped pushing our turrets and started looking for kills. My team went into a turtle/split push spree. I'd sneak out and try to take every turret and inhibitor I could starting from bot lane and if I was respawning, master yi was going top lane and doing the same thing. (I think we dropped 10 inhibitors total during the match since they'd respawn and we'd have to return to do it again while defending our own base the rest of the time.)
IN truth the other team didn't make any mistakes. We just finally scaled up enough to be able to hold off the other team in 3v5 team fights (which seemed to be all we ever had) and they were unwilling to push through if they lost more than 2 members in a team fight. Even when at 50 minutes they aced my team and finally destroyed 2 inhibitors they didn't finish the job and finally at 65 minutes in Master Yi was able to take out their nexus before they could recall to stop him.
Fun, yes.
Frustrating, you have no idea.
The funny thing is I can't remember many surrender votes. We knew we were way behind. (8.6K gold at 52 minutes), but the other team clearly wasn't confident in their ability to push despite being so many kills ahead.
But I've had games go 50 minutes where everything after the 25th minute was a hard slog and the loss was never in doubt.
As for someone like the OP. I don't like what he does. It's not right to go AFK or leave because "gg, we fed and can't win." I don't agree with that attitude as my post has indicated. At the same time, he's probably suffered through the same thing I have. Too many games where a surrender wouldn't happen because 2 people didn't want the game to end and the other team starts effectively toying with us.
A great example in my mind is baron. I've seen teams that are pushing inhibitors over suddenly go. "Hey! let's go take baron." I end up wondering. "Why?" The nexus is the main goal and with just a little push you can take the nexus turrets and win. Moving away from the nexus just to collect baron isn't achieving the win.
I've even been in on a loss when between Baron and the other team being able to set up their attack my team got aced right after finishing baron and the other team took advantage, pushed for the nexus and won, despite us having the baron boost. In this time we gave the other team that miracle win that a few posters here dream about, mostly because of that "we don't surrender" attitude that seems to go along with "we don't understand objectives". If teams concentrate on job #1 which is to work to take the nexus down, most of these games don't became slogs and the problem disappears. It's when teams seek to pad KDA results or think: "Let's get baron as we are so far ahead." and then fail to do it properly that comebacks are even possible.
