Does the balance team even care about xin?

As a xin zhao main with over 500 ranked games this season on him i feel like riot just tried giving him a little something at the start of the season (free crit every third auto) and then gave up on the champion entirely.

Are you guys even going to try to make xin a competitive viable champion? Should i even bother to voice my concern for the champion as someone who still finds himself playing him in most of my games?

Here's what I want for xin: A change that doesn't really effect how well he does in lower elos but does effect how well he does against good players. Ideally this change also moves him from being a less binary champion.

I don't want to see MASSIVE changes to his kit, i like the idea and simplicity of his kit but it just needs a little bit more. Neither of the changes made so far have helped xin this season. Extra base hp or crits every third hit does not make him less binary nor does it help him with getting kited.

An entire season has gone by and the state of xin zhao as a champion has primarily stayed the same: nonfactor champion never to be played by pros and barely viable past gold.

He was not a high pick but he was OP when there was still Sated

Both Xin and Kindred and other champion that abuse that shit, thats why Riot took away sated

I remember everyone on these boards freaking out when that buff showed up on pbe. Good times.

And no, Xin will never be competitively viable without being completely unstoppable in lower levels of play. His kit is just too binary and involves too little decision making for him to ever be truly viable.

Xin is fun as hell. I hope he doesnt get changed. Jungling with him gets me an easy first blood almost every game due to his knock up. His damage is awesome as well. I love his kit.

Just give him a new jump already Riot! You don't even have to touch anything else, a simple change from a Unit-targeted AoE Damage Dash to an AoE-targeted AoE Damage Dash will fix most of his problems.

Xin zhao cannot be competitive viable has the same reason why Garen cannot be competitive viable. If a easy and simple to play champion have a stronger kit than a complex and hard to play champion in the same role, there is no strategic reason to play the harder champion. And Riot generally balance champions around this. (They screw up from time to time. But hey no one is perfect.) Thus, if a simple champion and a complex champion in the same role are both play to their full potential, the simpler champion should have a lower "power". And since this is the case, in competitive where players can achieve a champion's almost full potential, there is no reason to play the simpler champion most of the time.
