Oriana is a strong mid laner, but she has plenty of counterplay. Her early game is fairly weak. Her ult doesn't have that big of a radius and is very hard to hit multiple people with. Plus, you can see where the ball is or where it's going, so you have some warning to react.

I say this and I don't even play her.

I understand people may disagree with you, but... you're not exactly wrong here. I mean, it's a lot easier to react to stuff that isn't "You're wrong." Sure, you're getting downvoted to hell, but it'd be nice to know why instead of some variation of "You're bronze" or "You're wrong" or "How about no, X is cancer."

I'm kind of ambivalent on the issue, but you've got a point here Lugg.

I wouldn't say zero counterplay, just not as much as there could be. If Orianna has zero counterplay, then what is Ziggs?

uh ziggs is cancer cuz u cant siege on him, his abilities can easily be dodged. Why would you even compare the two? That is silly

Orianna's abilities can be dodged as well. As long as you keep an eye on the ball, you can dodge the Q. If you're between her and the ball, she will E. Best time to trade is right after she Q's, giving you time to hit her before she E's and gets the shield (there is a slight delay on the return time). Don't walk over the ball to avoid the W, which usually comes after the Q. Same with the ult.

It's all about positioning and keeping track of the ball. If you can do that, you can abuse Orianna's weaknesses. If she misses her Q's and keeps trying to hit you, she will run out of mana. I suggest a chalice for mages, or a hexdrinker for AD champions when playing against her.

Good thing she gets resistances on her E for some reason. I guess it's one of those "hidden power" things Riot hates, but in this situation they must love it because Orianna makes big dick LCS plays with her ults to instantly win fights. She can't be nerfed.

Consistency at it's finest. While we're at it, let's not let Talon's w come back to him if he dies. I mean, everyone else can do it, but that would be tragic if this was implemented. It would actually make sense, and we can't have that.

Orianna can give someone the equivalent of Olaf's bonus resistances from his ult on a basic ability

why? shes just going to kill your team anyway, who does she need to protect?

Why are there so many people backtalking someone that has a much higher level of experience than you all?

All of the Oriannas that rush their Lich Bane in your elo are obviously not going to 100-0 you with just ult. She needs nerfs or we are yet again going to see Orianna played almost exclusively at worlds.

Pretend like you know at least a little bit about mid lane please guys.

if you're going to teamfight against a team with an orianna, you really need to take control of where it takes place. if you're siegeing their tower, her wave clear is too good and your team is more likely to be lumped together to make it possible for her to land her combo on your carries or your entire team. if you can force a fight in the middle of the jungle where your team can come at theirs from multiple locations she has to either focus on kiting your front line or keeping the ball on her own if they can dive the carries. what happens is that she has to stay at max leash range or she has to get to safety, put ball back on tank so that she can ult meanwhile she doesn't have a shield for the next 4 seconds and repositioning the ball requires wasting a few seconds that you could be dealing damage. she is so reliant on not only herself having good positioning but the enemy team having poor positioning.
