Lux's power on PBE

With all these lux changes I'm interested to see if anyone has actually played enough of her on PBE to gauge where what her power is like. I hopped on for a hot minute in a bot match just to try out some things, and the radius of her E kind of worried me along with the travel time, but I understand why it had to be done. But I just saw they're nerfing the radius of her E even more and nerfing the damage of her Q.

Overall I'm glad Riot is looking at her, due to the fact she's a pretty underperforming mage. I'm just curious as to what she's shaping up to look like on the PBE.

They're doing to Lux what they did to Malzahar. She had a kit that worked well together, they buffed her ult to a stupid degree while nerfing everything else. She is now a walking ult. Just wait until they nerf that too. Then she can join Malz in the void! Enjoy

Well Q and E changes its fine cause of her ulti buffs ,but why nerf hp per lvl on champ who is already squishy as hell with 0 mobility??

It’s terrible

Her laning is pretty weird right now. You actually poor someone now is pretty hard. They also nerfed her overal combo damage (if you exclude her ultimate)

I just don’t understand why they would do that. Her early game technically is a bit easier since people don’t have T2 Boot to easily dodge her abilities. Once those boots are bought, it’s pretty easy to see her E coming at you.

They consistently buff her ultimate? Why? Why? Late game, if she doesn but get a reset on her ultimate, she feels like garbage.

They really should have worked on buffing her passive and adding some interaction

Instead they just gave her opponent a better window to dodge her abilities but nothing about what happens when you get caught with a Q past lvl 6. It’s a horrible horrible game play You’re literally fishing for a Q so that you can land a E and Ultimate.

The lastest nerfs are completely uneeded.

She doesnt need even less health per level or even smaller E radius.

Oh well riot too scared of making lux an actual good champion.

It's funny because I've also heard that Riot was trying to make Lux too good of a champ with all her buffs

It's a double edged sword.

Riot is being stupid by nerfing what shouldn't be nerfed and buffing what shouldn't be buffed.

"Oh yeah, 1000 damage massive range ult? Uhhh, let's increase the amount of times you can use it in teamfights!"

"Pfft, Lux's only source of reliable waveclear? Let's nerf its damage, its speed, AND its radius!"

I wouldn't even be surprised if they buffed the damage of her ult because "she underpreforms with her recent nerfs"

Ye its like "she will be too strong with 20dmg buffs but lets buff nocturne ult with 100 dmg and 3sec more1!" xD

I didn't play her but I did see a streamer play her on PBE. She looks fine but her E missile speed looks a lot slower for only having 100 less speed but I'm glad there's more counterplay to it. It was too big/fast making it nearly undodgeable. I advocated for the reduced E radius so she can get better mana costs/CDs on her basic abilities/utility; it took up WAY too much of her power budget. Seriously the mana cost on that thing is nuts. She should still be able to zone with her E and will be more pokey while still retaining her burst combo.

so what about xerath which is called "better lux version" imo lux was already countered by almost everything in game

I've actually played quite a bit on the PBE with the new changes. I wrote some feedback for it on the PBE boards, but I'll try to keep it short here.

Q feels really good with the increased damage / reduced CD + mana cost. I actually find myself maxing it first as support now, and more importantly I enjoy doing it. It's at a point right now where I can decide which ability I want to rank and not lose out regardless of what I pick.

W QoL change helps a lot in any lane you're in. It enables you to have a decent sized shield regardless if you hit any allies, and if that wasn't enough, they made it cast instantly. This makes it feel super fluid to use whether you're trying to save someone else or yourself.

The big change is on E. Initially, I thought it felt really slow (because it is noticeably slower), but after playing a few games you quickly readjust to the new speed. The radius reduction sounds, but it's really not noticeable imo. Even if it is noticeable to some people, it's really not something that will matter when you're landing combos anyways. Its CD and mana cost has been reduced as well which really seem to help a lot with wave clear / control as well as general utility (being able to use it more often without being oom, etc).

Overall, things feel much more consistent to both the player and the enemy while preserving the play style completely. I hate to say it (because I don't normally like change), but I'm honestly looking forward to these changes going live.
