Why didn't we get a warning about the decrease in orange shard disenchant value?
Seriously, Riot. You guys gave us plenty of notice about how the disenchant value for blue shards was going to change, and how our BE was going to multiplied by 6.5 times. You even gave us a notice in the client days before preseason hit letting us know it was the perfect time to disenchant our unwanted blue shards.
However, you guys didn't extend the same courtesy to the playerbase when it came to orange shards. I don't recall reading in any place that the disenchant value of orange shards was going to be nerfed once preseason hit, and I'm sure many of us would have liked to have a notice letting us know that it was also a good time to disenchant our unwanted orange shards.
Also, there are those of us who purchased orbs during Worlds and other events which gave skin shards, so we effectively paid real life money for those orange shards with no notice that the disenchant value was going to be reduced.
The more that we learn about the preseason changes, the more angry and unsatisfied we get. However, your answer so far has been that our perception is wrong, that we just can't see the greater picture. You provide data and graphs, but in the end we're still spending more time playing on the Rift to receive less currency. We're still paying 6.5x the BE for upgrading to mastery 6 and 7. We're still getting 50% less orange essence when disenchanting even though we receive orange shards at the same rate. We're still getting only 2-4 key fragments a week instead of 1-2 a day if we played enough matches (nope, I didn't forget about that one).
tl;dr our perception isn't wrong, Riot is starving us of free currency to increase RP sales.
