Then i see 5 tanks... And instantly close it.

Are ppl not tired of this? This has been the competitive meta for the last 3 or 4 years? Not even with conqueror on the game it makes them stop spaming tanks on almost every lane.

LCS (NA/EU) is still played on 8.5 w/o Conqueror or changed item 3124. LCK/LPL playoffs are played on 8.6 though with Kaisa enabled.

And guess what? They are STILL gonna spam tanks on 2/3 positions out of 5.

You need a frontline in a team based game... what is your problem with that?

If you want to see 5 squishies, go watch Bronze replays...

its not just bronze.....Silver too. So many times i call games in champ select after seeing the comp...begging someone to switch the champ they intend to play after seeing the comp....but no...they go into the game hell bent on playing 1 particular champ no matter who they are facing.

enemy team showing Sion, Braum & Orin...no problem...lets still lock in that graves jungle and soraka support....hey teemo....you good top? ok lets go!! G !#^*&~ G

Well 1st off a lot of people confuse BRUISERS for tanks so you might think a team is tank heavy even if they actually only have 1 tank.

but even if a team does have 2 tanks it could be needed.

You know how many times i've been in a game as Leona and had people on the team complaining about having no peel? Well maybe if our top didnt lock in Yasuo or our jungle didnt lock in a ADC then maybe someone else can ENGAGE the fight and let me peel or I engage and they peel.

When you pick a squish comp you just put more targets on your team for the enemy to focus. If you engage then you have no abilities up to peel and if you save your abilities to peel then who is going to engage?

And the confusion is because the line between them has been blurred heavily by Rito

ok and? people in pro play won't stop using tanks just because you don't like tanks. Unlike in SoloQ where it's just a team of 5 headless chickens trying to show to each other whose e-peen is bigger by wanting to do nothing but damage in 90% of the games, Pro games are people with dedicated strategies that they have practiced quite extensively in which they actually use tanks to protect their carries and to initiate fights without blowing up and losing from the enemy team engaging on them or them having a bad engage. I am sorry that you don't like tanks but they aren't going anywhere and pro teams will still pick them

Because tanks arent fun to watch or play.

Yet riot keeps endorsing their braindead playstyle, they are always god tier in atleast 2 lanes in competitive for the last 3 years, they dont get nerfed out of the meta/S tier like every other class does.

"boring to watch or play" for you maybe. There are people who enjoy that playstyle and you calling it "braindead" doesn't make it any less enjoyable or impactful t those who do enjoy that style. Like I said Pro play is not SoloQ. You need to have some form of frontline in pro play or play nothing but a splitpushing style if you want to play without any tanks which is risky at that high lvl of play.

You can hate on tanks all you want, Riot won't nerf them just because you don't like the role

The real problem with the 1-3-1 right now in pro play is if you don't get a lead, you're done. The top laners appropriate for it just aren't strong right now. It is that way to a much much lesser extent in solo Q.... Until you end up with someone that doesn't know Fiora and Ryze on the same team are 1-3-1 ers and keeps spamming group mid.

the real problem is that it's a difficult style to play and a single mistake could cost all your pressure or worst. This will be true regardless of whether top laners are the strongest champions in the game or not. It's way easier and simpler to just group up and form a "deathball" teamfighting teamcomp than a splitpushing one in pretty much every single meta. Unless splitpushing is so grossly broken that nothing can deal with it splitpushing isn't something that is going to become the norm in pro play (with the exceptions of a few teams that can only play that one style for whatever reason)

Skimming through the most recent vod (EU LCS semifinals), top lane mostly had a lot of GP and camille who aren't tanks, mid lane was typically mages, adc was typical adcs.

Support/jg were typically tanks yes, but like, tanks are important to a team comp. Theres been metas where there were legitimately like 7 marksmen in a match at the same time, so this doesn't seem overwhelmingly tanky.

C9 Squeeky 1 votes

Those comps require you to snowball extremely early otherwise you just lose

Mysticman891 votes

Perhaps, but point is they're doing it in pro games.

ok, you actually made me check out an LCS game, and WTF are you talking about? ok, Top is tank, but thats it...

its called strategy , it stops people from getting to your squishies.

This isn't bronze where everyone plays dps they actually KNOW how to teamfight.

tanks are dope, haters gonna hate

saltran1 votes

Please LCS teams, stop using tanks because a dude on the Boards doesn't like it

Late For Tea1 votes

Funny, because I've seen a lot of Ryze/Cassio toplane this weekend (especially in EU).

BigBellBrute1 votes

Actually for much of the season, it was top carry, (or Gangplank) Jungle Tank.

Now it's Tank top, and either an anti tank like Trundle or an instigator like Olaf or Skarner in the jungle. Supports are mostly tanks. But Morg has been seeing action too.

NA and EU are still on 8.5 LCK had a bit of a different mix and is on 8.6.

Was just looking at your profile and basically 90% of your posts are you whining about tanks in every single way possible. At this point no one is even taking you srsly most probably.. all this whining and the most stupid of reasoning. Stop playing tanks because watching them in pro play is BORING, you're hilarious [sg-miss-fortune]

keep up the free comedy shows [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
