Sona's power cord

So i was thinking is it possible to buff her W and E powercord up the the level where they are more useful. Like make the debuffs last longer (1-2 seconds longer) and/or make them do more. A better slow, or be super nice and make it a 1.25 second stun. Make the damage reduction last longer so it opens up more ability to trade blows/ save allies.

Or here's another idea: Put the cooldown on all of her abilities back to 7 seconds like they're supposed to be.

Of course, the best thing Riot could do for Sona is completely revert her back to pre-4.13, keep Crescendo at 100 mana for all ranks and fire Fearless. I can guarantee you that'll make her playable again.

I'm kind of fine with the % damage bonus being lower on Q powercord, would be nice if it was at 50% instead of the current 40%..... But yeah would be amazing if they made her a spell chain gun again and lowered the mana cost of her W in the early game (DAMN THAT THING IS EXPENSIVE... and for so little pay off)

Expensive and inefficient are right, you have no idea how right you are. Sona's W is the weakest healing effect out of all 8 of them in the game. In addition to having the lowest base AND lowest scaling out of all of those, it has the 2nd-highest mana cost after Bard's. Difference being, Bard has higher base mana, a mana regen passive and with a recent buff, his heal NO LONGER INCREASES IN COST PER RANK.

Here's the full comparison for you:

  • Sona: 30 Base, 20% AP, 80 Mana
  • Relic Shield: 40 Base, 0 Mana
  • Nidalee: 45 Base, 50% AP, 60 Mana
  • Alistar: 60 Base, 20% AP, 40 Mana
  • Taric: 60 Base, 30% AP+5% Bonus HP, 60 Mana
  • Kayle: 60 Base, 45% AP, 60 Mana
  • Nami: 65 Base, 30% AP, 70 Mana
  • Bard: 70 Base, 45% AP, 90 Mana
  • Soraka: 120 Base, 60% AP, 20 Mana

Sona's heal may be very low and also cost A LOT, but there's also the fact that it also gives a shield (albeit small). I do agree, though, that her heal needs some sort of buff, or at least the power chord needs a buff.

I was waiting for someone to mention the shield. Okay, so Sona's heal has a secondary effect: it gives a shield. Admittedly, it has the lowest base and scaling as well as the shortest duration of all shields amongst supports, but I digress.

You know which other heals on that list have secondary effects? ALL OF THEM. EVERY HEAL HAS A SECONDARY EFFECT.

Let's do this in the same order:

  • Sona - "Shield"
  • Relic Shield - Bonus Gold
  • Nidalee - Attack Speed
  • Alistar - Triggers his passive
  • Taric - Triggers his passive
  • Kayle - Movement Speed
  • Nami - Movement Speed
  • Bard - Movement Speed
  • Soraka - Self-heal on Q

W always goes to waste because the particle effect is so undetectable in a fight They need to give it a way more noticeable effect, I only wish they found a way to keep the effect of it making the effected champion smaller that was on PBE during her rework
