assuming you are good at the game Darius falls off quite hard by the time grouping occurs unless he's fed. even then most people who "lose" lane to him can easily set him up to be ganked and almost universally hard outscale him in terms of contribution anyway

• Hmm. You want an honest answer? Depends on the comps and skills of Darius and opponents. Some comps he can be strong at all stages of he takes ghost and buys deadmans, since that's the only way for him to force a lead since he otherwise lacks diving power due to being an easy target for slows, stuns, knockup, etc, and being easily outrun or iutdashed and he can't escape a bad dive without flash or ghost. On the other hand, there are games where is is useless all game. For instance, he's neother the top lane bully, nor as good of one as he used to be due to telegraphed Q and slower E. A good renekton craps on a good Darius, so does a good quick , a good Jaycee, a good teemo, and good aatrox (prenerf a least), a good fiora, a good Jax (Jax can literally counter almost everything that makes Darius decent, or tlrather, he can exploitable his weaknesses pretty easily if experienced Jax hands. Aka, Jax can jump in on Darius q, auto, w, e auto auto, jump out, or simply jump out after stunning Darius, wash rinse repeat. By levels 6-9, if Jax did his job, he will have already outscaled the now starved Darius and straight face tank Darius for the win. Even a smart nasus player can survive Darius pre 6 and proceed to stomp him. Heck, I've been beat by good Shen players who dash my Q, and set down their auto attack blocker at good times to block my w and a couple autos thus delaying my 5 stacks considerably. Beyond the 1v1, assassins have easy time getting past Darius to burst squishies and escape and he often literally can't do a thing to punish them because he had no dashes. Tanks like Sion, even when they lose lane, proceed to be team fight monsters and can cc lock Darius for considerable amount of time either zoning him off or allowing him to be quickly bursted because outside of good ho growth and armor growth, he has no innate tankiness, and when he is stunned and slowed in team fights he often becomes unable to even land q for a single Q (and his heal isn't that strong anymore except against tank heavy comps of three or more tanks because they do damage giving him more time to land Q's against multiple opponents and heal. However, one or two tanks are effective against him to lock him down whilst he is easily destroyed by damage dealers. Darius has incredibly hard time against adcs like vayne, who can counter every aspect of his kit to make him harmless while destroying him in mere moments. In teamfights Darius can be strong if team has long range mages for Pike and at least one real tank for engage, otherwise he is useless, an enchanter often helps him a ton for healing, shielding and speed boosts, but those things help everyone. Darius is bad at taking objecrives like Baron and drag due to low dose and no percent ho damage. He is only decent at taking towers if he has tried force, but then again, is terrible at escaping those towers unlike Jax, fiora, tryn, udyr, or Yorick due to no innate mobility. Champs that make him nearly useless in teamfights besides tanks and hyperscaling mobile or high ranged arcs like vayne and kog would be brand, annivia, zyra, Viktor, ryze, j4, etc, anyone that can easily zone him basically. Other champs who, even if dar beats in lane, can go on to carry harder are irelia, Yas, and riven. Riven and irelia especially because if dar picks up a kill or two, a good riven or irelia with stay safe due to profuse mobility and cc, farm up, wait for gank or roam, and still proceed to crap on your team while you helplessly chase them around the map unable to catch them and save your teammates. Darius is also susceptible to the dps true damage that other hyper scalers like Jax, tryn, and you have acquired through conquerors that they were never balanced around. A tryn can easily destroy Darius, and a smart Jax or you can destroy Darius without hardly any counterplay because if a good Darius meets a good you or Jax, the agency is entirely in their hands. They can fully exploit darius's weaknesses, but darius can't force them to make mistakes in the same way.
