not like they are like 130 champions but half are considered thrash or garbage one is aatrox ,you get flamed for picking him Blood Well Passive Attack Speed changed to 30/35/40/45/50/55% (upgrades every 3 champion levels) (from 50% flat) Blades of Torment Damage reduced to 75/110/145/180/215 (from 75/120/165/210/255)

RIP building very tanky while still outputting considerable DPS, so we're lowering some of Aatrox’s innate damage. With this change, Aatrox must build items for damage and won’t be able to simultaneously tank and smash face as easily.

He's decent with the new masteries in resolve and ferocity (not cunning). He, however, requires considerable itemization and since champions like Janna / Ahri dominate the winrates. You aren't going to do much in teamfights. They should give Aatrox a movement speed buff to give him the ability to dodge CC, initiate with Q, and MOST noteworthy, being able to kite melees with his ult (this, hit and run mechanic with the attack range increase greatly increases his skillcap for fighting the more OP melee auto-attackers) IE: Volibear, Udyr, Jax, Shyvanna.

Cause right now, in the meta, there are better auto attackers and better CC bots. Generally how champs like Aatrox work (both CC, auto attacks, and tankiness), like Hecarim, is that they need movespeed to compensate for their lack of range/initiate/dodge/farm/position

mate aatrox is pretty good dunno why anybody would flame you for picking him. depends where you pick him but not many champions are "trash" or "garbage" the meta is shifted towards tanks sure but anything is viable if you're good enough with it and the team comp supports it
