Guys, let me help you, an Illiao main just told me how to beat her. All you have to do is dodge her tentacles, at the same time, dodge her E where she grabs your spirit, then keep your range if she tries to W. All you have to do then is kill the tentacles, they take two auto attacks, so hit them each twice, while dodging the other abilities of hers. Then focus on trying to hit her if you're still not dead. Oh she killed your spirit, and now your a vessel, so more tentacles regardless of how far away she is, run in large circles so they cant hit you, then kill them again, Keep space from her W. dodge the E again, he mana should be low, but she has NO mana cast, so thats not happening. Nows your chance hit her!

And shes tanky as shit, plus heals herself, everytime she hits you with her unlimited number of tentacles.

NO counterplay what so ever for melee champs, or short range champs.

So for everyone playing her thinking "IM so good, this must be my main champ!"

You're not good, your champ is broken.

honestly this is a really good post, too bad it's going to get downvoted until the LCS shows how retarded her gameplay is.

Theres a real problem lately with champs like.. yasuo, master yi's, Illaios, jax's thinking they are nice and balanced, and their personal skill level is just above everyone elses. They ignore the thousands of people claiming their champ is broken, and chalk it up to "Im just mechanically superior, and all these people arent good enough to compete."

just play malzahar. get banner of command first. then get sweeping lens. as well as ohmwrecker. shove her under tower. sweep her tentacles to turn them off. pop ohmwrecker proceed to melt her.

I hate when people think this is a solution. In order to counter a champion, i shouldnt have to play one single champion, build a few items, make a specific rune page or build. it should have a certain matter of skill involved. No champ should be 100% counterable by any champ, item, or build.

Yeah, there are matchups into which Illaoi will have trouble, but as long as she exists, you're not ever allowed to go top in Blind Pick unless you play an anti Illaoi champ. Ditto on teambuilder.

Sorry, Jayce. There's an Illaoi. What's that? You're ranged and you should beat Illaoi? That's funny, Jayce. Go back to Season 3.

Is there no counterplay to her E other than dodging it?

I think her E should be toned down to 1 tentacle instead of 3, and 1 min is waaaaaaaay too long. What other champ has a debuff harass that lasts 1 min and takes 35ish seconds to clear it?

Her W's AD ratio needs to be toned down as well. Early game, it's not hard to get 100 AD. That's 165 damage given you already have rank 3 and the 30 mana cost at all ranks is ridiculous. I think it should cost 75 - 100 mana and refund a portion if it hits a champion.

Lastly, is it necessary to lower W's CD when R is used? Just read the tooltip for her ultimate and see how much is packed into one ability, it's ridiculous.

All I'm seeing here. Illaoi is actually really weak if you know how to play against her, a lot like Heimer. If you play into her tentacles, she eats you alive. If you, you know, dodge skillshots and things, she's pathetic. Over half her damage comes from her tentacles, so, yeah. Dodge them.

Ah So i looked into your history. 14 losses with illiao. Just cuz you're bad at her, doesnt mean shes a bad champ. there is no counterplay to her kit. too much dodging mixed with massive amounts of damage, self heals, and tankiness.

its not rolling my face. Its using every bit of my skill as a player to dodge all her skillshots, only to realise she's still full mana, and ive yet to put any damage on her.

14 losses, and maybe 4 of those did I lose lane. I lose a good majority of my games because of moronic teammates and/or broken enemy comps. Nothing I can really do.

There is a TON of counterplay to her kit, you're just too spoiled and lazy to see / make use of it. She DOES NOT do damage unless you let her hit you with tentacles, she DOES NOT heal unless a tentacle hits a champion, and lots of champions build tanky but still do damage.

If it takes all of your skill as a player to dodge linear, telegraphed skillshots with a lengthy delay... then I don't think you should be playing ranked at all.

Check the poll, check the forums, watch when the patch notes come out. Everyone that doesnt try to main her you realizes there's a problem. and if you dont realize there is a problem, its because you, are the problem.

you have a negative attitude on the forums, to a stranger. so i couldnt imagine you on a team xD no wonder you lose so often.

have a better outlook and maybe things will start going your way.

She doesn't seem that overpowered, at least not like Darius after the rework but she definitely is annoying as hell and a huge pain to lane against. It's like they looked at Heimerdinger and thought "hey this guy isn't bullshit enough, how can we make something worse?"

lmao only difference is heimer can have 3 turrets. she can have 11 tentacles + however many you arent able to clear * as a melee this is quite the task* and if she lands an E on you, she has a global range of tally wackers that smash you for a FULL MINUTE.. Oh... and they heal her.

just in case no one else has thought of this yes she is strong like every champ when they bring them out they need balancing but people like Darius can easily out damage her and bully her out of farm Chogath can do it with his silence. but mainly any champion with good mobility beats her if you play smart i mean try fighting a Riven or Yasuo i got smashed because they are way to mobile to hit considering how long your abilites take to actually go off the damage and power comes from her tenticles which can be dodged super eassily and destroyed because she uses so much mana to try and out trade high mobility or big lane bully champs. shes strong but not unbeatable i kinda feel like Darius is unbeatable but thats cause i just dont know him well enough to play confidently against him
