isn't flash boring?
the only counterplay it has is to use flash as well if you want to reach him after he flashed i think this is the main reason of why flash is so popular

What's really boring is when the only viable picks need to have an escape mechanism, or when laners refuse to cross the river in the laning phase, making shoving someone under their tower a nonviable strategy. Flash enables risk-taking.
There is a reason why Flash is what every champ runs now unless you have other special needs like Olaf needing Ghost or you're running Teleport to rush/sustain top lane more easily etc. Otherwise, go Flash, you don't go wrong.
It's annoying, and since the game has been developing around the idea that everyone has to use it for like idk 3 years (?) already now. I guess we shall never actually get rid of it until probably the next LoL comes around...
So yer, it sucks.
Flash is like Lee Sin in the summoner spell scene (well him in general, not just limited to this season), it's just too good to be left behind.
Err.
You can do whatever you want with Flash. It can be used offensively and defensively. That's why it's so good. It gives you gameplay options (at the cost of lower Summoner spell variety).
The game is balanced around it, it's fun to use and it's on such a long cooldown that you can actually get punished for using it too liberally.
There's nothing wrong with Flash outside of the fact that no other spell will ever match its level of versatility.
It is also the ability that allows people to make plays.
Without Flash, try using Annie's ult on an entire team to initiate a fight.
Unless you're playing a team controlled exclusively by golden retrievers, it won't happen.
I think flash makes the game much more interesting.

I think flash makes the game LESS interesting in some regards. For example, there are some plays people just don't think to make without utilizing Flash. You have to get more creative or clever.
for example. The classic engage is
+Tibbers. It's easy, almost expected by your team and the enemy. You know what people don't expect? Microing Tibbers to walk from the front, while Annie flanks the side from brush for the Incinerate stun. This play is a lot harder to pull off (especially thanks to leash range), it takes more work, but for similar results.
I'm not going to say it is the better play, or more efficient, but I find it much more interesting and rewarding when I learn to make plays without Flash rather than make the same standard plays everyone with Flash makes.
The only reason why Flash still exists in the game as if it would be removed the immobile champions would disappear in this game. It is the last gate which prevents the blinking dashing champs from complete 100% domination as it gives just a little bit of opening what immobile champs can exploit.
