Why does ALL chat even exist in League?
Personally, I see no real reason to have to talk to the enemy in League of Legends. Coming from WoW, I thought it was at first, strange that you couldn't speak to the opposing faction. After playing it for awhile, I could clearly understand the reasoning behind this.
League I feel should follow the same ideology. When would you ever have to speak to the enemy team? If one of your players goes AFK, it doesn't broadcast that to the opposing faction for a reason, it also doesn't take a brain surgeon to understand if a character went AFK in the first place; he simply doesn't return to a lane.
If you want to complain about your team to the enemy, all you're doing is further hurting your chances to win. You are taking time our of your playing to chat instead of doing something positive, such as CSing. If you are already dead and decide to complain to the enemy team, you are simply lowering your teams morale, and raising the enemies. Soon as you find out the enemy team has turned on each other and are bickering, you instantly feel better about the game and your team becomes stronger.
I've seen so many players get caught up in the yelling and toxicity and just run around aimlessly working towards no objectives at all. It's a sinking ship and no one is bailing water. You generally have 1 or 2 players on the team that say nothing at all and continue to play the game; to which, I applaud them.
At the end of the game the teams can say whatever it is they want to each other. If it's important enough to report, I'm sure the opposing team witnessed this fact in game to at least question what happened in the post game lobby to decide whether or not a report is necessary. If it's laggy, talking to the enemy isn't going to help. If he killed you when you were DC'ed, telling him isn't going to refresh the death; also I am sure he new very well you were DC'ed when you stood there while he killed you.
I honestly can't think of a legitimate reason to talk to the enemy team except for the reason to bad mouth; which if Riot wants to remove toxicity from this game and keep it professional and respectable, I feel this is a step in the right direction.
