Haven't played in a while, laned against her. She was the most unfun I have ever had in lane. Shes going to be perma ban from now on when I play. Shes like a more annoying yasuo who also gets to build tank.

Wrong. She is being abused on mid lane as an assasin with true damage. XD Also top lane because she stomps tanks and other bruisers.

She's being played in mid because Faker played it in mid in very specific matchups and with very specific comps, so everyone went "Faker's doing it so it must be good, everyone copy him!" without actually looking into WHY he's playing it. Also, all true damage got reworked out of Irelia's kit, so her only true damage is coming from Conquerer.
Her "stomping" other bruisers is also not true, as, with the rework, she was changed from being a champion that wins lane into one that's stronger late game. Most other bruisers will have an advantage in the 1v1 before she gets her Sheen. The only way she wins lane without it is if you misplay. And how do you misplay to lose lane to an Irelia? Get hit by the E. She'll be able to dash to you, reset the dash, and then use her W to fully pop per passive (if she doesn't already have it off of minions) and then just kill you with autos if you try to fight her.

Yes, she does counter some of the top lane META at the moment, primarily Darius, however she also gets countered by several others, including Singed, Fiora, and Garen. Irelia seriously isn't op at all, she's at that 50% that's a pretty much perfect balance state at the moment. You just have to know how to play against her.

Any champioms becomes strong in the eyes of those who can't play against them. And, champions who counter meta ones are often off meta picks or ruing team compositions if I am not mistaken? But you're right.

Unless you played a mage, how did you not shit on Irelia in lane? Literally every bruiser beats her early and some (cough 
) always beat her. Irelia has probably one of the worst laning phases of any champ and yet you lost to her? Either she was smurfing or you were fucking up hard.
