So we are gonna pretend that Nasus is balanced now?

Giggling Granny··8 votes·2,365 views

Who though that buffing this champion without nerfing his W first was a good idea? why riot going on a buffing spree on a champions that dont even need them...

And not Nasus is not fun to play against i dont want to have to invest on everything to stop nasus and to pick spefic champions to counter him because even if you pick Mage or Bruisers his W and his free life steal and his free armor and mr and his free hp and his free armor shreh..

Do you see where i am going herE? its too much of free stats and riot was like "hmm what nasus dosent have for free? ahh yeah lets add him 50% cdr to his Q why no"

Seriously ether nerf his W or revert his ulti buff

We won't have to pretend, what with his 50% winrate.

Sometimes, champs are in such a bad place that you actually have to buff them.

Giggling Granny3 votes

44% skyrocket to 50% in one day after a patch ONE DAY 6% win ratio increase...ok

Mecha Incognito2 votes

You also have to consider that a lot of people probably didn't respect the new change and just tried fighting him in it.

Basically, you have to respect Nasus level 6 like Illaoi level 6.

rework trundle5 votes

his W and his free life steal and his free armor and mr and his free hp and his free armor shreh..

yeah fuck all adc's with their free autoattacks OP NERF rito wtf

Shiznyte1 votes

What if Wither was made into a Skill Shot, with slightly less attack speed slow (maybe none at all) ,but also granted Nasus some sort of mobilty (move speed and or Tenacity). Less abusive for ADC's but also helps one of Nasus's problems of low mobility and gives the champion a much needed skill shot because 600 range point and click exhaust every 6 seconds is a bit... toxic

Pippen The Short4 votes

Nasus is not the difficult to beat. Yeah, sure, you might have to change who you're playing and how you're playing a champ, but you can still beat him.

oSEXYPLATYPUSo2 votes

oh no!! there is that key word " NO FUN " aka "ANTI FUN "

Escheton2 votes

So you are saying Riot should change the game around you because you are unwilling to change with the meta or even for your current gamestate.

No.

God Raijin2 votes

The reason....THE ONLY reason they buffed Nasus this much, is because they made this item 3076 and it has heavily changed the meta to be more tank oriented (at least in pro play.)

Considering what riot said in his patch notes: "In practice, he ends up hitting high armor frontliners, and losing a lot of expected efficiency as a result. Struggling to reach priority targets who kite well...~~"

Given that this is a common occurrence where all he can do is hit the frontline. item 3076 and item 3075 have him healing less (as well as dealing less damage because armor) against the frontline.

As long as bramble and Thornmail are the way they are, I don't see a need to insta-nerf Nasus after one patch or anything.

Shiznyte1 votes

"High Armor Front lines" that are losing 35% of their Armor because of Spirit Fire... Suddenly armor isn't so great when you lose a large chunk of it to a "Skill Shot" like Spirit Fire! If you combine Spirit Fire with someone on your team with Black Cleaver all the sudden all that armor isn't saving you Vs Nasus when he pops his ult and starts Qing like a mad man!

God Raijin2 votes

That's the idea. I mean, most other juggernauts are tank killers, Illaoi w item 3071 , Trundle with his ult, Darius has his armor ignore on his E, Garen has Shred on his E.

Not sure why Nasus should get the short end of the cane and not have shred like most juggernauts do

Shiznyte1 votes

Trundle's is single target and an Ult so lets not compare his to an AOE Spirit fire that is a basic skill. Illaoi has no armor pen in her kit so she itemizes for it i see nothing wrong with that unless you feel Black Cleaver is too strong? Darius I agree with armor pen even though its less than Nasus (5% at rank 1 for Darius - 15% rank 1 for Nasus) is a bit abusive, but you don't often max apprehend in lane like you do with Nasus Spirit Fire so he gets that free armor pen much later in the game than Nasus does! Garen's the more I look at it is pretty unhealthly too... you have to stand in it... but at rank 1 - 25% armor shred is pretty nasty. The post was about Nasus though and its not just the Armor Shred that is making him too strong in my opinion.

Quepha2 votes

He still looks like garbage to me. Tons of champions who destroy him in lane, tons of champions that make him useless in the late game, his stacking game still doesn't seem to have enough payoff to justify freezing your lane and providing zero pressure while everyone else is actually doing things.

Zykklon B1 votes

Not gonna lie that ULT is pretty nuts and with the 4-5 sec W it makes him even way to strong

"sheep" implies that people follow a "shepherd" - someone telling them what to think.

It seems more like people are using statistics, and logically thinking for themselves for the most part in this thread.

Pippen The Short6 votes

Your opinion isn't magically correct just because it's different. Yeah if nasus jumps from a 49.5% win rate to 55%+ then sure you might have a point. But, thus far we have zero evidence that suggests that will happen.

Dude isn't even over a 1% ban rate in Diamond at the moment.

http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/nasus/diamond

Jesuszilla1 votes

Might want to amend this comment since he's spiked up to a 15% banrate now. Maybe not the biggest splash, but if a champion gets bans in higher ranked matches it usually implies that he's NOT the easiest to play around.

Pippen The Short1 votes

https://na.op.gg/champion/nasus/statistics/top

His win rate has dropped since I made this particular comment, only by .25%. So statistically not significant, but it does not signal that Nasus is now significantly stronger.

But nonetheless it solidifies that I wasn't wrong.

Jesuszilla1 votes

Unfortunately I can't see the original post you were responding to, but if your point was in someway that his banrate mattered, and for a lot of people it does, then I was merely pointing out that he IS seeing more popularity and more bans, something that's not really seen for low mobility juggernauts in high ranks of play.

Pippen The Short2 votes

No, my point was that his winrate will increase drastically if he is indeed much stronger, and thus "unbalanced". But, that has not happened yet.

The "ban rate not over 1%" comment was simply in reply to an erroneous claim that Nasus was being banned at a near 100% rate in upper elo's, which was a driving point of this OP's argument. But you didn't know that, which begs to question why you would comment on something you have zero context for. At that point the basis of your comment is simply conjecture.

15% is relatively standard ban rate and truthfully only reflects people's opinions about the changes in the patch. Nasus is still played at a relatively common rate but not overly favored, and his winrate is still relatively the same, so the patch did not make him unreasonably strong by any results oriented metric.

Jesuszilla1 votes

I don't find a 15% banrate to be a standard one, since there are only so many bans, and additionally as I mentioned before ban rate spikes on champions players claim are "easy" to deal with in the higher skill tiers typically showcases a rise in their playability and strengths in an unusual way.

Garen has a ban spike, and he received nerfs following that because there were issues with his buffs.

Same thing happened with Darius.

Cho'Gath probably still needs some changes.

All I am saying is, there is reason to consider that perhaps the changes to Nasus are more potent than people realize.

Ravenous Howls2 votes

LOL! The one bitching about Nasus who had a 3% pick rate and 46% win rate is calling the few of us who main him sheep... BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Shiznyte1 votes

So if you main him wouldn't you consider your opinion to be biased? You want him to do well because you main him... I understand you've put your time in, but potentially don't you think you could be a bit biased because you don't want nerfs to hit him? They buffed Items and Nasus at the same time and it was most likely a bit much... anyone who plays solo Q can see this haha. Between how crippling Wither (AKA perma Exhaust) is on ADC's (the target who is supposed to kite Nasus), % Armor Shread for tanks/melee targets, Free Defense stats from his ult, and how easy the champion is to play (AA, Q, AA, Q), I think he is a bit stronger than he should be. I'm okay with high skill cap champions being strong... but this guy is much much easier to play than the likes of GP and Fiora. If you don't wanna nerf the ult Q CDR to like 20/30/40 maybe take the Attack Speed slow off wither and make it just a slow.... or make it a Skill Shot so the champion isn't brain dead (currently his hardest mechanic is landing a Spirit Fire... which is not a tough Skill Shot to land). I have a friend who is a very popular Nasus main and I've watched him play Nasus IRL, he literally just hits Q W E in no real order just as fast as possible (most of the time the skills aren't even off CD yet) and wins fights.... just mashing on a keyboard with ult popped. The champion has a very low skill cap when it comes to micro (fighting mechanics). I think about how strong he is and how easy he is to play, it can get a little bit dare i say... OP? He has received an Armor/Mr Ult Buff, a Spirit Fire buff, a Buff from tank items being buffed, And a Siphoning Strike Buff while he Ults. That is a lot of stuff in a short time for a Champion, so I don't feel its too crazy to say he has been Over-Tuned.

Ravenous Howls3 votes

He doesn't need nerfs?! He just got buffed into viability. Tryndamere, Trundle, yorick could all take towers better than him and one of his core strengths was tower tanking which he has struggled to do since they killed his wither range. He also lost the damage on his ult a few months ago for bonus armor and MR which killed his objective control.

Other than Thornmail, which is great against Nasus as well, which items that are core got buffed for him? SV was nerfed recently, IBG has been nerfed since last season, TF has been worse since they made it more core to better AD scaling or AS scaling champs, Randuin's build path got gutted, FH has been sub-optimal for 2 seasons now. What items are you talking about?

All of Nasus's weaknesses are in tact. He has no mobility so Wither is essential for him to catch up or disengage. It is a single target slow which makes him a monster 1v1 but not so much in full fledged team fights. His Q buff is windowed by his ult and his shred was necessary for him to fight tanks which is all he and other juggernauts can reach. Darius, Garen and Illaoi all get free % max health shred or 5 armor shred in their kits either as a passive or on abilities without cost and those shreds stack with BC...

And ADC is supposed to be babysat. If they are stupid enough to be out alone without ward coverage and Nasus get's within range then they absolutely deserve to die. BTW any assassin, fighter or juggernaut can do this. Nasus is not special in this case.

Nasus mechanically is easy to play b/c he does not require a high amount of micro management in regards to his kit but he has one of the hardest Macro games of any champ. If he does not choose the right time to push, group and get objectives in can cost his team the game. Fiora can dive into the back line pretty easily and delete a target and GP can grab free kills from lane with his ult.

You can't ask for Wither nerfs without giving him mobility which would make him far more scary than his slow. A skill shot does not solve anything unless it can affect multiple targets and they already gutted the AS slow by half several years ago. They could scale the Q CDR on ult if that's what you are asking. Make it 25% rank 1 35% rank 2 and 50% at rank 3. But honestly with how he is performing I'd say he's doing just fine as is.

Again Nasus is a premier 1v1 duelist and if you fight him 1v1 you will die if he is stacked and itemized. He sucks in team fights and coordinated efforts as well. He is sitting at 49% win rate with 5 % play rate. So bias aside the statistics do not lie. Nasus IS now balanced. Your friend being a main is guaranteed to do well b/c he knows the champ in an d out. Use an example of someone who just picks Nasus up for freelo without understanding the champ and they will not look so easy and impressive.

Shiznyte1 votes

ADC's Are getting murdered in front of their support while he ignores them. Explain to me how an ADC is supposed to outplay a Ghosting Nasus with wither? even with help he is likely dead and the only idea i can think of is build QSS or specialty boots(merc or swifts)...not much outplay potential if you ask me considering how easy it is to apply Wither. My main point on wither is its crippling the ADC's damage out put so Nasus doesn't have to worry about the adc damage in fights. In team fights he cast wither on the enemy ADC and beat on the enemy front line (thanks too spirit fire changes) ... his ADC will power through while the Enemy ADC does literally nothing as wither is Spammed on him. You are a Nasus Main i understand you don't want him to be changed because its Personal for you, so for the sake of this we will have to agree to disagree and wait and see what Riot does. The people who don't seem to want him changed are the people who play him while many others do want changes. Also in Solo Q new Nasus players are readily acknowledging the fact that they are abusing this Champion because of how strong he is... only the Nasus mains say hes not Over-tuned... seems a bit suspicious if you ask me.

Ravenous Howls2 votes

He can't even reach the ADC's?! Wither range is 600 and most ADC's have AA ranges comparable to this or have AA modifiers that give them range far outside the ability for Nasus to cast wither. The only way Nasus murders an ADC is if they are out of position to allow him to walk up and wither them or the enemy team fucked up so badly that somehow he got on top of the ADC even though 3-4 other people were there to stop him.

The only people who want him changed are the ones who can not learn how to play against him. He just got meaningful changes that made him a decent, balanced pick and people are already crying for nerfs. Yes I am a main and nothing is more infuriating then having to fight for meaningful buffs for almost 3 years that balanced my champion then to have a pack of knuckle dragging ninnies crying for nerfs right out of the gate.

There is nothing to agree to disagree about. You are asking that a champion with zero mobility and melee to have no meaningful way to engage or disengage while also having that ability be single target. Also while having all of his normal weaknesses in tact kiting, Healing reduction like EC, Morello's and Ignite, hard CC and a largely abused early game where he struggles against 90% of the champion in the game.

Lastly people are only doing well because they have not adjusted their play styles to deal with the changes. AGAIN! 49% win rate with a 5% pick rate doesn't scream OP it says balanced. Unlike Janna with a 27% pick rate and 55% win rate, Jhin 29% pick rate and 50% win rate or Elise with a 15% pick rate and a 51% win rate. These champions see a high level of play and are winning over half of their games which means they are OP. Nasus is balanced, get over it.

Shiznyte1 votes

Most Adc's have a range of 550 actually with the exception of Cait, Ashe, Varus, and late game Trist, Jinx, Kog (These three all start with Sub 550 range and build up more). There is not much Outplay potential for ADC's vs Wither aside from Qss and swiftness boots/ merc treads and even with help they are likely to die to it because it is exceptionally easy to keep Wither up. And in regards too your comments on Fiora and GP two-shotting back lines, they build Full damage Damage so yeah it doesn't surprise me that they can do that... Nasus builds maybe one Damage item with Sheen but for the most part full tank... yet he kills the back line targets in two hits (with the new changes two Q's comes out much faster than before). There is a big difference between the two. Like I said before, we have to agree to disagree on this topic because we are coming from opposite sides. We will see if he gets nerfed in the future, my opinion is that it is likely to happen. So if you like Nasus you should enjoy playing this champion while he is slightly Over-Tuned.

Ravenous Howls1 votes

You just listed all meta ADC's at the moment and I said their attack ranges were around his wither range. you also mention QSS which destroys Nasus's ability to stick. Let's also not forget the any form of grievous wounds destroys a large portion of his defensive power.

I mentioned the other two b/c they also sustain harder than Nasus does b/c of the nature of true % max health damage and other healing steroids that are based off the insane amount of AD and lethality they build.

Nasus is balanced and even RIOT has said it. You are crying over a balanced champion.

Shiznyte1 votes

Corki, Draven, Ezreal, Jhin, Kalista, Lucian, Twitch, Vayne, MF, Sivir, and Xayah are all good (meta) ADC's currently that I didn't mention in my previous message so let's not forget about them. It's clear I hit close to home with my posts because the only "crying" that is occurring is from you (all I did was state my opinions and if you don't like'm...just ignore them). ok, Each ADC right here has a skill that will get them away from nasus easily. Corkie can jump away, Draven can knock him to the side slowing him enough to run, Ezreal has a blink, Jhin has a root, Kalista has her stupid jumping passive, Lucian has his Dash, Twitch has his movement speed invisibility, Vayne knock back and luck it can turn into stun, MF is the fastest ADC out, Not sure if Sivir can Bubble the Q since that is considered a Auto attack, but I believe she can Bubble Ezreals Q which is considered an auto. Xayah also has a root skill. Each of them can get away from Nasus as long as he is not sitting on top of them before he withers.

Not to mention that with enough damage on them they can probably kill him before he poses a real threat if they position well. Let's also not forget that witha mere executioner's calling and QSS they can effectively negate any and all of Nasus's power. But this guy is crying that Nasus's is OP purely on opinion without any analytics or data to back it up.

Shiznyte1 votes

Again Laz... we have to agree to disagree at this point you are just raging at a keyboard... chill out man don't take is so personal just because you enjoy the champion!

Shiznyte1 votes

Think about how Easy it is to apply Wither, and the CDR difference between the ADC's Escape mechanic and the Wither CDR. Wither gets down to a 6 second CD... Valk from Corki, Stand Aside from Draven, Condemn from Vayne do not get that low of a CD even with CDR. So even if you do use your escape, based on Withers range and how easy it is to use... chances are that it's on you and you have the move speed slow so Nasus catches right back up and applies a second Wither when you don't have an escape anymore. Wither is also just point and Click so its pretty hard to miss! I get that some adc's have some way to save themselves, but think about the next time Wither comes up and that skill is down? You cannot out play Nasus Wither lol... and you cannot say it's hard to use! I get it... Nasus mains don't want him changed but understand the game is about more than one champion and role!

Xion The XIV1 votes

But that is just it only to most stupid ADC's will actually come back to fight Nasus 1 v 1 after they QSS his wither. If they decide to try and kill him 1v1 they deserve to die. I will admit Nasus is a Monster I 100% agree with that, but he has the exact same problem all other Melee's have and that is they can be kited. Problem is he also has a second major weakness in he can only really fight 1 at a time. I have seen a Nasus go 1v3 and come out with a triple kill, but none of the teammates bought a item 3123 . So all he did was fight them near minions and just auto attack minions and then Q the champions. Leave a Nasus a lone so he can farm up a couple hundred stacks and he will become a monster.

The best way to shut a Nasus down is to either camp him to the point he has to afk farm leaving his team to loose inhibs and other objectives, Or camp the ADC/Mid to the point they can shred him from range. Playing with or against a Nasus is a major gamble. Either the Nasus is garbage and he has 150 stacks at the 25 minute mark, or you take a gamble of camp his lane or play the long con and camp another lane.

Ravenous Howls1 votes

You are complaining that a champ with a 49% win rate based on your anecdotal evidence and arbitrary opinion is "OP". I am more than annoyed, yes, when anyone asks for nerfs on any champion that doesn't sit on a ridiculously high win and play rate. These posts where people just spew nonsense is obnoxious so I am going to argue. Until you can give me numbers to back up why he is OP then I am going to keep reminding you that his win rate is 49% balanced and pick rate shows that it is mostly his core base doing well.

Shiznyte1 votes

Winning % isn't the only way to determine if a champion is over tuned (bad players can play him and ruin the %)... I have listed multiple reason on why i think hes slightly over-tuned, They consisted of Wither range, how easy wither is to apply, the CD of Wither... the Attack Speed slow on Wither, His CDR on Q when he ults could be more like 20/30/40% instead of a flat 50%. How much damage he gets while building full tank. Spirit fire to some degree but not so much, I actually enjoyed the spirit fire changes but I feel its rank 1 % Shred is too high. Anyone can regurgitate someone else's stats they read on a website, what I offered was my opinion on what I saw from playing the game. Opinions aren't right or wrong they are opinions. So for the last time Laz... we have to agree to disagree and I hope you have a nice day!

Ravenous Howls1 votes

This is an inherently ignorant comment. (bad players can play him and ruin the %) How do you have real source data without all possible outcomes of wins and losses? Do you analyze team statistics on wins or losses only? No of course not. You take all extrapolated data from all sources and combine it to get your average. This is actually one of the best ways to determine anything's strengths and weaknesses. Nasus has had a 46% win rate for almost a year until they meaningfully buffed him to give him presence back in the game and you and so many other are, opinionated, arbitrarily asking for nerfs? He is a single target duelist and premier one as well. He is strong 1v1. You keep complaining about Wither but it is his only means of catching or disengaging and if you weaken it you automatically dumpster him again.

Again the Gated CDR on Q while ulted is fine by level, IF he was out of control. Everything to the contrary suggests he is balanced.

http://champion.gg/champion/Nasus/Top?league=

http://lolalytics.com/champion/Nasus/

https://na.op.gg/champion/nasus/statistics/top

Let's talk about his Pen. In the case of Darius it is passive so always applied. Garen can move with you in his spin to shred. Nasus's E can be walked out of it and immediately the debuff is removed. The effect is static and can not really effect you unless you get pinned into fighting inside of it or you decide to fight inside of it. It's not too strong because it has an insanely high mana cost. Darius and Garen get their's for free. Nasus has to be extremely selective in it's use or he risks going OOM.

The point is your opinion is not a replacement for actual data analytics that is comprised of thousands of games of people playing a champion. In other words concrete measurable data that backs up my claims and debunks your "OP" argument.

Shiznyte1 votes

All you did was prove that you are fired-up about my suggestions and took it personal. When it comes to nerfing Nasus you don't ask a Nasus main, it's obvious they don't want him nerfed... If Nasus needed buffs you would be the first person I ask, because you are clearly passionate about the champion, but why would you admit to a champion you enjoy playing being too strong? That fact that you can't even Agree to Disagree is the only Ignorance I see in these posts lol. You are clearly biased for towards your Champion and take anything Nasus related personally...that's cool you can have your own opinions on the matter, but you won't change my mind and I feel as if I have made valid points on why I think he is slightly Over-tuned. And if my ideas are really that bad then why even acknowledge them? I hope you don't lose to much sleep over this and you have a nice day my dude!

Ravenous Howls1 votes

LOL! ok keep hiding behind your passive aggressive facade of superiority. I gave you proof you offered me opinion. If you have nothing credible to argue with besides a biased unfounded claim then just stop responding.
