You can't honestly buff Tanks without buffing Bruisers

So you might as well just turn Tanks into Bruisers

Why play a character that focuses entirely on defense when you can play a character that can be both offensive or defensive whenever they want and still be just as important and as relevant as the Tank?

Why play a peeler that focuses entirely on defense stats when you can play a peeler that can mix offense and defense to peel and teamfight better?

Why play a defensive character that can't duel or push well when you can play one that can while also providing all of the benefits to a team that the defensive character brings?

**If you buff defensive itemization you only buff Bruisers who already beat Tanks in Jungle and in Lane. **

With the current defensive stats then yes, a buff to tanks will also buff bruisers.

However, Riot always has the option of introducing % stat increases for health, armor and MR. The items that these stats would be on would then only be useful if one builds full tank with 5 items rather than with 2.

Whats the point of being a tank though when Bruisers can be just as tanky while providing a lot more for a team overall?

Sure you may have 5000 health compared to a Bruiser's 3000. So what?

They need to change the effectiveness of defensive items for tanks to work. The only 3 true tanks afaik are Alistar , Nautilus & Taric .

Leona doesn't count because she might as well be considered a bruiser since her passive wins any 2v2 trade.

Braum 's case is similar to Leona in terms of damage.

Honestly why not give them an increasing scaling per ability rank? E.g 50% AP ------> 90% AP. I don't see that being a problem, it only helps them be relevant lategame as they are the lowest damage dealers in League.

Leona's damage has nothing to do with it. She always has been and always will be a Tank unless they make her kit otherwise.

I'm...honestly not sure what to call Taric anymore after his last nerf. His single target damage is okay but nothing special. (So he's not a Fighter.) His AoE burst got busted. (Or a Tank.) His heal is a bit lacking luster and he doesn't even really buff hs team all that much anymore... (So he barely qualifies as a Supprort!)

Tanks haven't never been about high damage...to one target. Rather, they prefer to be in a team fight where they can splash everyone with their constant AoE damage. Just look at Sejuani. Everything in her kit from her Q, to her W, to her E, and even to her R is AoE. If you're only hitting one person in a team fight, then you're doing it wrong.

Which Fighter/Tanks are we worried about getting out of control, again?

The only ones seeing any play right now are Jman, Vi, and Rek. Blitz if you're feeling really flexible with the definition of what a Bruiser is. Three viable champions out of a pool of over twenty isn't exactly inspiring.

This seems like a non-argument to me. If a class of champions is so over-tuned that improving the game's lamentable state of defensive itemization catapults them into 'unkillable death machine' land then something should probably be done about that, don't you think?

Why have Tank/____ anything when Bruiser aka Fighter is always better? Im not talking about specific characters that are OP or UP. Fighters are always better than Tanks at Tanking and they always have been.

Why is that? Fighters are flexible, Tanks are not and that honestly has nothing to do with itemization. It has everything to do with kit design. Jarvan can build entirely tank or entirely damage or a hybrid of both and still do just as fine. Same with Rek, Xin, Lee etc., Can Naut do this? No. Can Alistar do this? No. Can Taric do this? No.

Tanks shouldn't even be a class. They are just lackluster versions of defensive fighters anyway.
