You ever been flamed so bad you weren't even happy about winning?

I just had this Yasuo player on my team, tell me how terrible I am at Jhin for 40 straight minutes, saying that I'm never close to the team during fights and that I do no damage. I was 9/3/14 and doing fine, he had died 12+ times and his match history is riddled with games where he does the same and loses. I typically don't allow players like these to ruin games for me but for the love of god, even if I muted him he would just spam careful and ? pings on me the entire game. Got called every name in the book.

PHEW big Dear Diary post but I've never been so tilted by how shitty someone acted towards me in a video game in my life.

Rant over

This just in... Yasuo players make every game miserable. Even if they're carrying you. Even if you're carrying them. Even if they're going even. Even if you mute them.

He does % true damage to your enjoyment of the game.

Correction Toxic players make every game miserable and Not all mains are the same kind of people stop stereotyping. That shit is getting old.

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

Thank you. It's sad because I have seen toxic as hell supports get defended by white knights because "they are the support" while our very polite ADC was thrashed because he asked the support not to push the waves.

But you know. People thrive on stereotypes and confirmation bias.

hhaavviikk3 votes

no because you can just mute them, frankly it baffles the mind some players refuse to use the mute function, I haven't been mad about flamers in YEEEEEEARS because I just mute them and problem solved

BeatzBoyFTW12 votes

Only problem is that if he knew he got muted, he would just spam pings on you as an alternative. And muting pings in the Option tab would also mean muting other teammates' pinging as well.

that's true, personally I play with the game sound turned off because of the ping spam, it certainly puts me at a disadvantage not only because of pings but some abilities make a sound if you hit in the fog of war but the alternative is having game sound turned on and getting a head ache from the ping spam

Morgan le Fey1 votes

Make sure they don't know they got muted. When people are tilty, it's usually really easy to fool them, since by definition they aren't thinking straight. Just talk at first so they think you're listening, then mute them later, and they'll keep chattering on with no clue that you can't even see what they're saying any more. You get to play mind games, laugh at tricking a toxic player, and still do teamwork and positivity things all at the same time! [slayer-jinx-catface]

So be a dick

Fondling Gems1 votes

I wouldn't call that being a dick. Being a dick is purposely trying to ruin another player's time, muting someone is not being a dick. Not letting them know that you muted them so they don't ping spam you (and therefore the rest of your team) is getting the best out of a worst situation for 4/5 members of your team, and the last member of the team isn't impacted one way or another since they would respond in the same way regardless.

It is literally choosing between muting someone who is being a dick and risking the rest of your team having to deal with false info and annoyance due to ping spam or muting someone who is being a dick (and not telling them) and no one on your team has to deal with ping spam.

If they're tilted, they aren't toxic, they're just tilted.

You're trying to get them tilted more, trying to make them type more, and laughing at them for it.

In a nutshell, you're making them have a pretty bad time.

Fondling Gems1 votes

No, it is a case of them being tilted and also flaming as per the OP's post. They are flaming, as such they are muting them either way. It comes down to them knowing you muted them or not knowing you muted them, not telling them is not being rude, it is saving yourself and the rest of the team for ping spam.

I have no comment on laughing about them, I am not the one who said that and I am not defending that part. Personally I find it in bad taste but that is besides the point, the point is that not telling someone you are going to mute them is not being a dick, especially when the goal is to help prevent them from circumventing the mute function.

well then don't type "muted" in the chat rofl.

You have to censor that...

It's witch hunting atm.

Remove all usernames.

*Edit In fact this entire post is now witch hunting... It's off of your account. People could check your history and look for the player. i'd recommend taking it down.

Hmm, I will take that over my Yasuo going 0/6 and then going AFK. Both suck but afks are the worst. Especially when you have 7 of them in your last 10 games. We do have something in common though. THOSE DAMN YASUO PLAYERS

only noobs play yasuo. you're fine.

Sounds like your standard Yasuo player.

I never really get myself flamed because I don't usually feed and never provoke ppl in chat, but it seems once I crossed the magical barrier into Platinum, games suddenly became a whole lot more toxic. It's honestly surprising if I have a game where I DON'T have to mute a flame. Feelsbadman

Dokkaebi1 votes

That's weird because I've had the experience of plat being the magical barrier out of toxicity. Lol

I typically will just mute if some ones really getting on my nerves then report after game. I also will ask folks to not be dicks to others if I seem them going tilty as it has negative impact on my odds for a win. I have had a few games this season that some one flamed so some one got bitter and started to Intent but rest of team talked them both down and we pulled a win out, then again likely have more losses from when this did not happen.

No. I've been playing Online games for years.

I had an annie, and she did carry the game. But i made one tiny small honest mistake (forgot to ping MIA when my laner when back just to buy items, nothing even happened) but annie just tore into me, cursing at me using every toxic, flaming phrase in the entire history of the english language. Just because you have more gold than someone else on your team, doesnt mean you have the right to be a complete ah* the ENTIRE GAME, of someone not pinging MIA once. Never flame your teammates guys, just try to kindly point out what they can do better NEXT time

Teridax681 votes

I have occasionally felt this, but I usually end up trying to just focus on the rest of my team and try to band together to take our win, regardless of that other toxic player. However, I have often seen players deliberately throw their own games out of spite, which perplexes me. Usually, when that happens it's not even because the player in question got flamed, but because they lost their lane, didn't get ganks and/or got ignored when they started flaming their teammates. I think what it boils down to is a show of supremacy, i.e. that the player is so powerful on their own that they can ruin the day of four other teammates if they wanted (and, unfortunately, they can). It specifically has to be one entitled gamer against their team, rather than one player versus another, because generally what would hold the latter from feeding would be the consideration for their other three teammates, who'd be suffering without doing anything wrong, whereas the former ends up putting themselves in the mentality where they're up against everyone else.

I mute them, but I also 1) acknowledge them (not positively, just acknowledge that they're talking) first so they don't think they have to spam me to get a response and then 2) don't tell them I'm muting them. Once they're muted, I make a point of being -super- positive in chat, whether I feel good or not. I compliment everyone and generally play morale booster. I mean, I try to do that anyways, and it usually makes me feel better regardless, but I take a certain vindictive pleasure in doing it and forcing teamwork and positivity when I'm doing it to spite people who are being butts.

Steel Blossom1 votes

Nope. Never. When a flamer is batshit retarded and is spewing nonsense, his words have no meaning or worth. I mean, there's always the comedic value of watching him humiliate himself in front of 8 other people and put his account on the line, but that's beside the point. On the other hand, when the flamer does have a point, and I did play poorly, I know that I deserve the flame and more. When I'm a burden to my team, I don't have the selfishness or audacity to think that I deserve to be treated any nicer.

Keevalroy1 votes

It's a Yasuo player - don't be offended, laugh at him. Nothing tilts them more than their "swag" being compromised. Since most have the cognitive capacity of a 10 year old, and the emotional sensitivity of a toddler, just laugh and watch him start a fire over his ego being damaged, and eventually, he'll say something really bad, you can report, and have the satisfaction of contributing to his punishment (however severe it might be.)

Watching that instant feedback popup after reporting them is one of the best feelings I've personally felt in League.

1WasHere1 votes

Yup all the time. The flame me all game, troll, grief, do everything to ruin my lane, get my opponent fed. Then we win and they report me, I get the ban and they get to continue to harass someone else another game. I don't blame them though, I blame Riot, riots ban system is garbage, and they're just an awful awful company overall.

when your1 votes

That's nothing. Try having your MMR drop from plat to low gold/high silver and have everyone flame you every game for having a border. On top of that, you're a support player and are trying your best to keep everyone alive and trying to get other kills. I've never been so depressed while playing this game. I honestly wish there was an option to take your border off because I can't play ranked without getting flamed for having a border just because they couldn't make it to plat, but I could and it's my fault my top laner voli builds ludens echo and my maokai feeds a darius within 5 minutes AND my jungler picks Lee and can't land a single Q and dies.

Jet Sett1 votes

First game Yasuo I was doing very poorly against some mage he is supposed to counter and our top lane kept flaming me and making me feel like shit, I eventually muted them while my friend was continuing to defend me.

Was pretty terrible game, we won and I still felt really lame. Thankfully the toxicity has seeped into my bloodstreams after season 6 and I now only get angry and think less of the person flaming me, rather than think less of myself and get all sad.

Works even better when you disable your enter key.

deadlychuck1 votes

Not really, but i have played champions which made it so that winning left me as unsatisfied as losing.

Turns out overloaded champions aren't actually fun. People just like winning more than having fun.

TwinkiePro1 votes

That's like, your opinion bro.

but seriously, to each his own. If someone finds jayce fun, so be it.

Squishie1 votes

I just tend to ignore chat, and mate if you think people are toxic in gold you have to play some games in D5. It's horrible, nobody admits his mistake almost everyone blame each other and you can just get your loved one insulted for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

But do you think that matters ?

Do you think it gives you the right to ruin the game for 3 other people who haven't done anything to you or the retard flaming you ?

Well yes, it does matters, In fact you should never forget to report those people. and No. You don't, by doing that you are simply being a dick yourself, I honestly hate people who give up on games because someone "flamed them" more than the flamer himself. I view them as pu***ies with a weak personality than anyone even a stranger that probably you won't meet him again just shts on you and make you cry and intentionally loose the game.

I understand that flamers can sometimes hit you hard, and yes sometimes I rage myself but then I just mute them and continue to play the game the way I started it because I am not here to "teach them" a lesson. I am not their parents. I AM HERE TO WIN

So next time you meet those kind of people, you have two choices:

1- Ignore them the fuck out, yep its not really difficult, it's like taking care of children sometimes they do something to annoy you and wait for your reaction, if you are smart, you will ignore them and at this point they mostly will give up on you. But in rare occasions they will push it to another level. Then you got no choice but to ignore them and REPORT THEM AFTER THE GAME.

2- Be a wise man and mute them from the start lol.

I hope this will help you keep your mindset stable in the future games, good luck climbing.

Aptest1 votes

No. I'm more thick skinned as to let it bother me THAT MUCH.

what annoyed me is when my team has a mid or top that just pops off and i get the win for free (im sup or jung usually). that, i do not enjoy.
