If youre going to pick divers and assassins and adcs like Lucian

Then that's fine. There's honestly no problem with that kind of composition.

But get the retarded idea out of your heads that 5v5ing a Swain Gragas Orianna Vayne Janna team is anything but complete lunacy.

You want to pick Akali mid? Go for it. But don't even bother following as a group. You WILL get kited, CCd, and instakilled.

Simple fact of the matter is that in this game, YOUR COMPOSITION FUCKING MATTERS. Barring being completely uber-fed, there is no way on earth you will ever beat a composition with a better 5v5 in an even game. You are literally handing the enemy team a won teamfight on a silver platter by taking away every strength of your own composition and engaging the opponent during/in theirs.

You don't have to be a battle-mastermind to understand such a base level of strategy.

For those who think I'm talking shit; look at my Warwick jungle game versus that composition example i gave before.

I was the one clearing both side waves for 10-20 minutes because the other 4 were sitting mid wasting valuable time, gold, and xp, trying to siege the other team while orianna sat on her keyboard and wavecleared, all the while being bitched at by those 4 for not grouping. Against my better judgement i caved in and joined them for a 5v5 in front of dragon.

We lost the fight horrendously, Vayne got a Quadra kill, then we lost 4 towers and mid inhib. We didnt come back from that.

You can be better than faker for all I care, I will not group with a team composition that is designed to split push.

You can win the game so as long as you pick off high priority targets pre-fight, but that's unlikely unless you have Ashe/Blitz/Thresh/etc..

Yea, in middle elo, people that don't have much understanding of macro tend to think: "Laning phase is over. I guess we should group up and teamfight." Even when they aren't playing a composition that's actually good at doing, and even when their opponents are playing such a comp. So if I find myself in your situation, the moment I see someone suggest to group, I tell them:

"No, bad idea, they will win a 5v5 teamfight hard" and then explain what we need to do:

"We need splitpush, get lane pressure and deep wards in their jg, or catch someone out of position (get a pick), then use our numbers advantage to take objectives."

Usually if they aren't already salty, they will listen to you (because what you say actually makes sense, though be careful to try and not come off 'holier than thou').

I can teamfight with eve just fine.. Same goes for most divers, you just need to flank.

Yeah I was gonna say. Most diverse are good at teamfight. Especially with a flank.

Don't forget that a tank is always needed! You can't win a teamfight without a tank!

I'd like to point out that bringing one basically CC-less person (Akali, for instance) is fine, and is viable. As long as your team is able to back it up with other champions. For every Yi, Kat, or Akali, your team needs a Leona, Morgana, or Zyra. Balance it out to 1 hard CC (or 2 soft CCs. Ashe's passive counts as hard for this tally, since it's constant) per person, and you're fine. Any more than that, and you're probably gonna be countered by a item 3140 or summoner 1.

It's all in balancing everything.
