Travelers Guide to Climbing rank

Once upon a time I couldn't climb the stairs, let alone the league of legends ranked ladder of hell. SO I asked a few Diamond friends of mine what to do. What they told me not only worked, but it worked hella-good. SO I shall share what they've shared with me!

NUMBER ONE: Pre-game Mindset To climb out of hell you must not be hellish. Don't troll, flame, tilt, or be a douche in anyway. Your team will have trolls on them more often then not. Flaming a troll makes them troll more, and flaming a player makes them become a troll. Its a lose lose always. If you are a tilt-easy player then put on some Chill-step and mute everyone in chat.

NUMBER TWO: Warming up Just like Rocky drank eggs in duh morning you must also drink your necessary but nasty eggs. Do at least One or Two 10minute CS practices in a Customer match. Turn your runes/masteries off for more difficulty and you can add bots or your friends to practice pushing lane, freezing lanes, and letting lanes get pushed for ganks. CS'ing is ridiculously important. NEXT: Do at least ONE warm up match in Normals preferably OR a few in ARAM. Though you want to practice your champ of choice so ARAM isn't always the best.

NUMBER THREE: Champ choice Have ONE main Have ONE back-up bizzy Make sure they're "in-meta" or make sure you have a history of winning with them before choosing them. Consistency is everything with winning. Having a new champ every game WILL throw you off in the Bronze and SIlver arena. You aint Faker, stick with the guns that work and you'll do much better.

NUMBER FOUR: Set-up for success After picking your Main champ and your bizzy back-up champ, make sure to research the play-style you use and adjust your runes and masteries accordingly. Having the right gear for your champ is very important.

NUMBER FIVE: Timing is everything Don't stay up til 5am trying to get out of a ladder. Trust me all that is gonna happen is you and your dumbass self are going to pass out tilted from playing and probably losing a match because nothing tilts you more then being tired and losing, even if you were on a winning spree. That last loss still hurts like a B. SO after winning 3 or 4 matches in a row, quit, quit while you're still ahead. If you've lost 1-2 matches, QUIT for the day. You can still play league just don't do ranked. This helped me out the most because I left most days on happy notes and looked forward to my next round of warm-ups and ranked matches for the following day.

FINAL TIP: Moving up the ladder in LoL is about time and consistency. Get good at One champ, get good at Cs'ing, and play 1-3 hours a day and you'll move up the ladder very fast.

I went from Bronze 4 to Silver 5 in about a week. It was easy and I actually enjoyed it for the most part. There you have it folks those are the Tips of climbing league. JUST DO IT!!! ;D

Just seems like common sense?

1-3 hours is bad or good depending on where you're wanting to go.

You're right it would seem like common sense. But its actually not. Most players don't take time out of their gaming day to do a 10 minutes to 30 minutes of CS practice. This is primarily for climbing out of Bronze and silver. Those past have most likely figured most of this out already haha.

I forgot to put in the tips to not so damn greedy and to keep map awareness. Those are huge mistakes I see people make all the damn time. It's how someone can die 10 times in the laning phase lol.

These are duh basics for success for sure :D There's more stuff like, when an enemy is going in to last hit the seige minion, thats almost a perfect time to poke. Or when they're attempting to last his a minion in general. Warding is huge too.

Cannon minion is also obviously the best minion to contest. Its the most valuable one out of the " minion poke trade " concept. But yes I can see where you're coming from about how inadequate players might not think so much about this.

To be honest.. The players this might benefit or be directed towards, are probably the type of players to not critically process these concepts in the first place. Or even try to understand why certain things are better / should be learned.

You will always have a certain portion of the league population who just can't be bothered to think or consider improving their gameplay through learning macro. No one was brought up to video games by being super technical and perfectionist about it.. It was always freestyle / have fun.

For the players who are in need of this information and treat it as valuable.. Reconsider how effectively and how highly prioritized this stuff should be implemented to your play, otherwise you're just wishful thinking... or wishful feeling?

It's all about mindset. Often times, seriousness is involved.. which can be translated to passion. Really good league players are toxic? (Tarzaned, Dardoch, etc ) or just passionate? Maybe both lol.

Reason being awhile back I was getting frustrated with climbing rank. My mechanics were great but I wasn't climbing. A really nice Diamond player saw this and offered to spectate one of my games. Afterwards the review changed my gameplay forever. He told me that I had great mechanics but needed to work on my runes/masteries my Cs'ing and my map awareness. I would sometimes overextend. My Cs was decent but could be much better, and my runes/masteries hadn't been updated in a very long time.

I implemented these into my gameplay and was able to climb out of bronze in a week or so.

If not a guide then maybe a Mentoring program where higher elo players can mentor low elo players and get IP rewards or ascetics for doing it.

For the most part.. information is effective the lower elo you are.. since it's an indicator that your knowledge is lacking.

And really a coach wouldn't be of much help unless you were seriously dense and clueless about what you're doing wrong.. even for a Gold or Plat player, you mistakes should be very obvious compared to where you want to be.. Diamond.. mid plat.. whatever.

A coach can only do so much, as for the rest of the process.. it's up to you to condition your brain to play " correctly " and not slip up / throw because you started playing on auto-pilot. A coach cant force your muscle memory to improve, that part is on you, the coach only lets you know where to focus on.

I have around average 60 CS per ten minutes in Bronze V 0 LP (the lowest of the low), is that decent?

60 Cs is pretty good, but the goal is to strive for 100 CS by the ten minute mark. The highest I've gotten in a practice is about 92. It's hard but, I can buy item 3802 item 1052 item 1001 item 3108 by reaching 73 CS at the 10 minute mark. It's the basics that get you places, without any kills you can still get fed if you CS well.

Great Tips! All good stuff - I'm not so sure I'd recommend playing ARAM at all if your looking to climb, but sure! Do you mind if I add my own tip?

1.) Dying is the worst thing you can do and should be avoided at all costs. Check out your average deaths per game and strive to hit 5 deaths per game or less. This is really hard to do - But it can be done, and teaches you SO MANY fundamentals - I find this is one of the biggest differences between platinum/diamond players and bronze/silver players. They know what a single death means, and how not to give it up.
