He needs his double-crit passive removed and/or his W given a longer cooldown before he gets any buffs. Amplifying a stat that hard makes for an extremely snowbally character.

It's already above way above 20 seconds early on, and only scales down to 18. Especially for a normal ability, Wind Wall's cool down is certainly no problem.

I would say that what he needs fixed is his scaling. Yasuo is not a traditional AD Assassin; he is a Melee Carry with some hints of assassination skills. If we can fix Yasuo's scaling so that he identifies with Carries more than Assassins (AKA: Fix his Crit passive. It strengthens his mid game and weakens his late game; this is why for a DPS champ his scaling is so bonkers and his power spikes come too early), he'll have a much more clear and defined role/playstyle to adhere to, which ultimately can open up the doors in terms of balancing levers on Yasuo and how to correctly deal with his kit.

Wind Wall's cooldown may be well above 20 seconds in its earlier levels, but it blocks a fair number of ultimates with 60 seconds+ cooldowns. That's ult-grade material in addition to his ult-grade ultimate. Having a high cooldown on his W helps keep him somewhat weak in lane, before his power spikes, but he isn't weak enough to justify the way he scales.

I agree that making Yasuo scale more gradually would greatly help him, balance-wise. Once he buys Statikk Shiv and reaches level 6, he goes from a fairly weak lane opponent for most midlaners to an excessively dangerous assassin.

Braums shield has a lower cooldown than Yasuo's and it blocks EVERYTHING. Yasuo's crits do less damage than normal crits. Even with Static Shiv he's still not an assassin, unless he gets really really lucky or you fail to dodge his whirlwind. Flip, why am I wasting my time arguing with you!?

I don't remember saying that Braum's shield isn't similarly problematic. I remember talking about Yasuo. Yasuo's crits still do plenty of damage, and he can afford to build fewer crit items because of his passive (meaning he can afford to build more raw damage or other items). Infinity Edge more than makes up for the decreased crit damage, and Yasuo tends to build Infinity Edge. I think that a character that's mobile and is capable of one-shotting enemy carries if he lands a single knockup can be considered an assassin.

His Q is not steroid. His damage is not as crazy as you say, in fact it is comparable to other carries. He is easy to deal with as his play pattern is very predictable.

You do realize that we're talking about League of Legends, right? Most champions have predictable playstyles. That doesn't prevent champions from being powerful. (ex: pre-nerf Ryze)

Flip, why are you wasting time arguing with me?

Yasuo's double crit passive is his damage steroid. He has no other way too boost his damage output. It's literally his equivelent to yi's double strike and his wuju style. Yi does just as much if not more damage. I'm sorry but I don't see the problem.

Yasuo's double crit passive effectively allows him to do more damage, and his ultimate gives him temporary armor penetration. That's a steroid. If your argument was that he doesn't have multiple damage steroids, and you classify his doubled crit chance as a steroid... Well. Good luck; have fun.

Just jumping in on the conversation here.

Earlier I mentioned Yasuo's power curve; most Melee Carries even without bonus Critical Chance will very quickly approach 100% or near 100% Crit Chance by the late game. What this effectively means is that Yasuo's double Crit Chance is not a late game steroid, where you'd expect all his power should be in seeing that he is, again, a melee carry.

It's funny to think about it. As a melee Carry, his steroid favors his mid game strength (when Melee Carries begin investing in crit chance but aren't anywhere near 100%) but bites his late game strength (most Melee Carries late game approach 100% crit chance anyway, but Yasuo's Crits are weaker). It's almost strictly a mid game steroid. (something I'd personally only expect to see in Assassins)

No one plays Yasuo expecting to be like LeBlanc or Zed. He is one of those champions such as Azir, Vayne or Akali whom the champions he is suppose to counter is legitimately better than he is early game.

However, likewise, champions that are suppose to be good against Yasuo loses to him late game. Expect for a few mADC (Tryndamere, Xin Zhao), Yasuo's damage absolutely destroys enemies in a few autos. His Q is essentially a 100 ad AA canceling steroid that comes with a knock up with a CD that also scales with AS. His ult also gives him 15 seconds of 50% armor pen.

The only other AD champions that can access such powerful stats are Riven, Vayne, and Tryndamere. I am not for buffing Yasuo since the devs will likely just nerf him immediately after.

However, it does really irritate me when people lose and feeds Yasuo in lane and claim he is OP. He has one of the lowest base health, resistant stats, and AD of any champion. If a Yasuo leaves lane with 3+ kills, the problem isn't him.

He needs a rework first. His double-crit chance is too good, even if it does curb his late-game. They also failed to use his Flow mechanic in a meaningful way; all it does is give him a shield; yay.

Major Sparkles1 votes

I really don't think you understand Yasuo. 1st there is nothing inherently special about crit. 250 damage from a basic attack and 250 from a crit is the same deal, Yas's early damage is similar to other ADC's which is meh. Secondly his passive is his damage steroid that all MADC's have: Yi has double strike, and Wuju Style, GP has his E, Xin has his AS speed, Tryn has his rage, ect. Mathematically Yasuo will only roughly deal 23% more damage with his passive than he would without. Other ADC's are higher, like 30%+. Lastly his shield is an integral part of his kit, all MADC's need a way to survive! Yi has meditate, GP has Oranges, Tryn has heal, xin has heal, ect. Yasuo has his flow shield and a very long CD windwall. Yasuo has the most coherent MADC kit to date. He's neither OP nor UP. He's perfectly balanced. Snowballs hard but also is trash if he falls behind.

Nah, I'd say Rework. His Passive limits his build path and infinite dashing is not fun for the opposing player (Ie Kallista) If they made it so his dash would reset when he targets an enemy champ but have a normal cd for minions, or maybe use flow as a resource then they might be able to add power elsewhere.

Major Sparkles1 votes

If his dash reset on champions he would instantly become the most OP guy in the game. Also how is having limited dashes through a creep wave, unlimited? Most mages can kill the entire wave with one spell. I really don't see the issue here, lol.

he needs some major changes that makes him less obnoxious and oppressive to play against before he can be allowed to be strong again.

Major Sparkles1 votes

Yasuo has very obvious weaknesses, so use them, he'll becomes a whole lot less oppressive. For example, he always pushes the lane, hard. Get repeated ganks and shut him down early so he has to play catch up for the rest of the game. Secondly, AA his shield before he engages and then punish him for trying to fight you. Third, dodge his tornado and don't stand too close to the minions.

Only Play Darius1 votes

The mana regen nerfs were enough of a buff to him.

Take a step back and actually read his kit. If he is ever strong he becomes impossible to deal with.

Retillin1 votes

Riot shows they don't know HOW to buff him because of his kit. There is a reason he is left where he is. He's a poorly designed champion with too much in his kit. This leads to him being super snow-bally. So until they redo his kit (like they did Lucian) he needs to stay where he is.
