What Dota 2 Have over League to be Balanced?

kinda better ballanced diversity

in lol we get champions who are owerly similar, so when one has a little more numbers or just gets ahead they tend to 100% outperform their competition in everything their enemy can do

on the other hand in dota every champion gets his shot at becoming strong in his own way which doesnt realy liit his opponents to being simply outperformed

at least thats what i deduced from posts here, i played only 2 games of dota 2 and they kinda proved it to me (but my pc is too weak for that game)

I have extensive experience with both games, and I'd have to admit, Dota's diversity in design is insane compared to LoL's. However, there is a big problem with meta health, there are a lot of Skarners in Dota. Some of Dota's heroes are a nightmare to balance, where they are either useless or way too strong, and they can't find a happy medium.

Well in dota they didn't nerf everything down until the game is 99% similar just as teh above posts mentioned.

THey also dont have a "balance" taem with 20 ppl deciding for 50 million how to play the game and champs.

THey dont enforce meta with iron hand.

They dont nerfs heroes just becuz they are not "muh lzs plays".

They don't nerf every single fuck until u pick the same 20 champs.

They don't enforce gameplay and gameflow.

And the game itself with more fundamental functions is a lot more interesting already.

DoTA 2 has more diversity because counters are harder there then here. Here, the best champions stay the best because while they have counters, their counters are either too weak, or have their own problems from being strong. There, you get countered, you don't get to play.

Edit: Contrary to believe, their players complain about the EXACT same shit that we do here about which champions are OP, which champions never seem to get nerfs, which champions they are tired of seeing every game, etc etc.

Tidehunter will always, ALWAYS be played...

He is the Lee Sin of the game where he has so much obscene CC that it doesn't matter. He is basically Amumu and Malphite put together.

Um where is his "obscene cc"? His ult which a simple 2.5 sec aoe stun with a 120 sec cd? And doesnt go through bkb?

doublelift fg1 votes

he has AD debuff which goes through bkb and that doesn't have a counter that's why he is broken

Do you even know what broken means?

Tide is a hero designed to punish grouping teamcomps along with high burst and he does exactly that. How would that be "broken"?

Also if u are talking about him being strong he is for like 3 years now and okay-ish pick (tier 2 at maximum).

Dota has balance because it has a high skill cap.

In example, anyone can carry even a support penta killing the enemy team. wisp OP

Dota is very item and stat based.

Picks are only for laning and team comp.

This is what makes dota balanced

A dev who does not just nerf everything

Well actually dota2 is becoming pretty crap as well over the last 2 years. Unlike league where they nerfed the shit out from everything in dota IF buffed the shit out from everything so the game suffers from insane powercreep as of now.

Because its balance team is just that much better than the one for this game. They didn't even enforce the meta and its still way more balanced than this game.

Well actually they dont even have "team" as Icefrog is the one and only who decides on everything.

dota has a more diverse meta, 2-1-2, 1-1-1-2, 1-1-3, also lanes aren't mirror for both teams, so it enforces 1v2 or 1v3 lanes, but generally it has a slightly wider winrate gap for individual champions too, something like from 30%-65% while for lol it's closer to 35%-60%

Hero diversity, IF does side nerf instead of nerfing a hero's strength. For example a dps needs to be nerfed, league's dev would nerf its dps (their strength) in dota their utility or tankiness gets nerfed so their identity as a dps stays but their weakness is amplified.

Dota 2 balances on the principle "if everything is OP, nothing is".

Dota2 sucks.

Heroes of Newerth was better until it gave up.

DotA looks better, HoN was essentially a clone. There are exact copies of DotA heroes in it that are just reskinned.

So how is HoN better?

HoN was not a "clone" , it was the 'original' DotA 2. Icefrog himself collaborated with S2 games to make the game in an engine not restricted by the Warcraft 3 editor.

Eventually Icefrog betrayed S2 because he was offered a better deal by Valve or some shit like that; I've heard from multiple very reliable sources that Icefrog is a complete piece of !@#$& in real life . In any case, HoN was way ahead of the pack being the first to introduce mechanics like Vector Targeting (Sawblade Showdown) and skills that operated on a charge system (Venom Wards). Other mechanics such as "The Dark Lady"'s ult were directly lifted by LoL almost to the T (Her ult was an ability that reduced the vision of the enemy team ... she yelled "Darkness falls" as it happened.... Nocturne was released several months later with a nearly identical mechanic... also worth noting, Rumble is almost a direct copy paste of "The Chipper").

Again, this was waaaay before LoL added these things or Dota 2 even existing. The graphics were ahead of their time and even the voice acting was more professionally done than the alternatives. Unfortunately S2 games was led by a complete moron (Whom we loved btw) called Mark 'Maliken' DeForest ... who ran the game into the ground by selling out constantly, making the entire thing devolve into "How much money can we squeeze out of the player base today".

Basically S2 games gave up trying to make a good game and it turned to complete garbage.... originally it was neck-to-neck with League of Legends at about 500k players for each... right now HoN has like 30k players worldwide and League has many millions, gg. League of Legends is the superior game now, by a large margin even.

In any case, Dota 2 is the watered down, intended-to-be-popular version of Dota 2 that was processed for the masses. HoN was the original, true product meant to be the spiritual successor to DotA.

Icefrog working on HoN as the true successor to DotA is fact. Now, spectulative; It was rumored that Eul himself (The original, true DotA god, the creator) also worked on HoN and gave it his blessing......

Guinsoo was the only one of The Three Gods (Eul --- Guinsoo --- Icefrog) that is confirmed to have never worked on/give HoN his blessing. Guinsoo was , in fact, recruited by Riot Games early during the MOBA wars and was actively working against HoN.

Learn your history, padawan, MOBA history is rich and interesting.... I wish Guinsoo could comment on this because I'd love to hear his take. I would honestly, legitimately do anything to get an interview with Guinsoo (Aka, Steve Feak) , even if it were only 10 minutes.
