Why do the pros build full tank on anyone?
Like, Sejuani, back when she was op - why didnt they at least just get a liandry's? Tank items have diminishing reutrns...

because when you can trust your teammates and you build your compositions around each other...each player has a defined role in that game. They do sometimes btw build a damage item if a non carry unfortunately is getting most of the kills. Rush, for example went Runeglaive into Ludens before full tank on Evelyn in a recent game. Vs Cloud 9 on Rek Sai...IWdominate built a cleaver.
They do sometimes if they get fed. but generally speaking your whole point is to take your identity as a player/role/champion and maximize that identity. Tanks are only there to dish out CC, peel, and soak up damage....so the tankier the better....even if that means its less efficient overall. ADC/Mid's tend to go full glass cannon until hard pressed to build 1 defensive item because that is their identity. Deal damage.
There's a reason you dont see a good balanced build where people build health, resistances, and damage mixed well with mostly damage on carries...because then they dont do as much damage and generally only live a little bit longer...where as tanks who build a damage item don't deal THAT much more damage when they couldve lived 5 or 6 seconds more which is far more valuable.
Not going tank has too many risks. This isn't bronze yolo q.
im not saying build full ap, im just saying ONE tank item
liandrys on sej
abyssal on gragas
titanic hydra or BC on sion
Cause they can trust their ADC / Midlaner to deal the damage . In solo Q you don't know the skill of your teammates.
If this is not the reason , i don't know it , that's why i am not in a pro team probably x-D
They have no balls. I always respect junglers who play carry champs in pro scene. Full tank- get out of my face. You don't deserve to be there. Coward.
I think it's badass to build full tank because you know you can trust your teammates, allowing you to be as tanky as possible to lay down the line and protect them.
I think it's cowardly. Tank build is most mistake forgiving. Also relying on your team to carry = being afraid that you can't carry.
That's a solo queue mentality, not a pro team mentality.

You do things that make you win the game, nobody cares about if something is cowardly or brave in league, its about whats smart and what will win you the game.
Sure. That's why you have to be brave to try something else. What is the opposite of brave?

There is no brave or cowardly traits in league of legends, its either smart or not smart. Sometimes it's smart to build full tank, sometimes its not smart. If Im top lane playing cho gath and i have a Yi jungle, Vayne adc, zyra support, and ahri mid, im going 100% full tank, our team has enough damage COMPLETELY, i just need to peel and be a wall. However if we have a Rammus jungle, Ahri mid, Ashe adc, and braum support, ill build 1 or 2 offensive items to compensate for the lack of damage. Brave or cowardly dont mean shit in league.
Because in Challenger+ where people know how to peel and kite effectively, it's full tank or die unless you are a mage/ADC. Close range fighters don't exist at the highest levels of play unless their numbers are incredibly overtuned AKA 65% winrate
.
It's why despite being amazing with Runeglaive in SoloQ,
ALWAYS builds Cinderhulk in competitive. Same with
Sorry but at LCS level play no team is going to allow a melee to walk up and get a 2nd autoattack off before they get deleted. Hell the only time
ever saw competitive play was when he built AP and had zero counterplay on his Alpha Strike.
