Why is Yas more popular than Ekko mid lane?

Ekko is actually fun to play.....just as much as Yasuo. They have similarities in that both Q can be hard to land unless combined with another skill. For Yas it is his e q combo and for Ekko it is W Q combo.

They can both use the run away while setting up a huge combo tactic.

For example if yas is being chased, he can charge his Q, then windwhirl knockup, ult and Q. This can lead to 1 to 5 kills sometimes. Similarly Ekko, if being chased can q, wait to get 2 stacks of his passive from Q, then ult to create massive damage by procing the third passive with his ult. Again this can kill 1 to 5 ppl.

Both have equally satisfying ult that can cover huge gaps with massive AOE damage. They both have good stuns. They both have stong late games.

But here is why I think Ekko is less popular.

Ekko has a much harder time in lane and is easily bullied. I have to admit my self, I take pleasure in going up against Ekko mid cause I know how easy he is to poke down as he offer very little pressure besides his W which can be heard and predicted a mile away.

So what you guys think?

Does Yas have a stronger early game and that 's why he is more popular?
