Azir changes =/= champion strength

Azir is a beyond low pick / ban rate champ. And when he is the Average KDA is 1.75 (You understand how bad that is?) These are you #LCSBigPlaysStats

And in solo queue his pick / ban is around 6% ban and 9% pick. Lets seriously recall these nerfs, if anything you need to debug the fuck out of this champ.

To Riot's credit, they did respect the views of the playerbase when the changes of those champions were rolled out...

... just not the views of the people who actually PLAYED those champions.

Really wish Riot didn't use such a heavy hand to nerf anything and everything that becomes a top dog. They're scared of buffing too much, but God hath forbid they secure the dam for nerfs.

Sometimes players need to be ignored. Deal with it.

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

with which champion's change listed above except syndra riot should have ignored the players?

EffectFX1 votes

I didn't specifically say any of those champions BUT... Azir hasn't been changed and the PBE changes are not going to go through. I don't see the problem with the Eve, olaf, kassadin, and twitch nerfs/changes that went through. Viegar is still viegar and sees just as much play now as he did before.

Elise needed to be toned down, but Riot overdid it, it happens.

This is incredibly misleading. You're using the spring split numbers for your pick/ban. What was popular 6 months ago has no relevance in today's meta game.

Here's the stats for every major region in the current split of play

NA: 62.7% P/B, no.1 mid laner (assuming Ryze is mostly a top laner) http://lol.esportspedia.com/wiki/Riot_League_Championship_Series/North_America/2015_Season/Summer_Season/Statistics

EU: 66.7% P/B, no.1 mid laner http://lol.esportspedia.com/wiki/Riot_League_Championship_Series/Europe/2015_Season/Summer_Season/Statistics

KR: 65.6% P/B, no.1 mid laner http://lol.esportspedia.com/wiki/SBENU_Champions_Summer_2015/Statistics

CN: 56% P/B, no.1 mid laner http://lol.esportspedia.com/wiki/2015_LPL/Summer/Regular_Season/Statistics

Notice a trend here? He's the no.1 mid in terms of pick/ban across every single major region and the majority of minor regions too.

The nerfs are not out of the blue, I've personally been expecting them for a while now. They might be excessive but Azir definitely needs some toning down.

Current stats still have Azir at a rediculously low winrate

Sire Hippington1 votes

now if you get your head out off your ass and look beyond NA, his winrate across all regions is right in place(50%), and the pick ban is the highest of any midlaner(72%) http://oracleselixir.com/statistics/champions/2015-summer-champion-statistics/

"But azir mains have 55% winrate)

Singed mains have 56% winrate, and he's only getting buffed. I honestly feel like he will be insanely broken after ap item changes go through.

i played talon for the entirety of season 4, and i maintained a 78% winrate over 140 games. I think that's understandable why talon would have been nerfed, but azir barely sees the light of day due to how many bugs he has with soldier interactions and spell / autos not going off or hitboxes being inaccurate! But now we have to deal with Intentional nerfs that will indeed harm azir to infinity and beyond!

And for all those people who say PBE is testing grounds, fuck you. You realize that if Riot is even thinking of nerfing Azir, they'll find a way to do it no matter what the communities opinions are. We're talking about a fun and hard champ to play that come mid - late game is nearly useless if you cant land a combo + ult. But hey, on the bright side there's a 50% chance your spells will correspond to how you press them with azir, and it might actually work!

I have a 70%+ winrare on renekton and tp smite rammus top. Does that meanthey should be nerfed?

I don't think that winrate alone dictates a champion's state. Anyway the changes (if left just like this) are wrong in any possible way because is a plain flattening of a challenging (and fun)champion

Stats provided include:

W/L P/B average KDA

Stars Shaper1 votes

Which indeed are more solid than W/L alone but still there is a lot of subjectivity in how a champion performs or is picked/banned ina game like this.

What should be investigated are problematic mechanics, lack of strenghts that can define a character and lack of counterplay no matter what. All of them require a lot of time and discussion with the community and Riot because a strong character percieved as terribly weak is a problem as well as a weak character percieved as OP even if mechanicwise isn't unbalanced at all.

Riot doesnt care about win rate. Im glad theyre nerfing azir. He has a super opressive lane phase, with little to no counters.
