How many games in a row do I need to win to skip divisions?
Because silver is pathetically easy for me and I only get matched against silver 4s and 5s.
No offense.

It's not a set number of games, it's based on the math behind the scenes. A good sign that you're on the right track though is if you're getting massive LP gains for each win.
I am performing well in all the ranked games so far, a friend told me only wins matter to rank up and it doesnt matter how well you do.
This is wrong?

Yup, that's incorrect. If your mmr comes out suuuperhigh when you finish a series there is a small chance of skipping a division. Again, rare
No its purely based on wins, however the amount of LP you get is based on MMR which depends on your WL ration with each individual opponent you face. So ya its purely based on wins but the system isn't simple

Ya it's not even remotely close to being based purely on wins so don't let replies like this fool you.
You can only climb by winning, that's the bottom line. How fast you climb has other factors.
Having a higher MMR than your current division may allow you to skip promos/divisions. You have to finish your placements first then see if you are placed where you should be or lower. If you get placed where you should be then no, you will not skip anything. If you get placed lower...you still might not skip, it depends on how much higher your MMR is compared to your division.
There's no set way to know as the win ratio required depends on the account. Although if you're gaining over 30 LP per win while losing some where around 10 for instance then you'll probably skip divisions. It was like that for me last season and I ended up skipping plat 4.
