Some thoughts on the new Rift Herald...

So first off, I am a support main playing @ gold/plat/diamond levels of play. My experience is probably a bit different then tops and jungles... so take it with a grain of salt... but here it is:

1.) **It's extremely potent **- maybe a bit too much? I feel like its pushing power is on-par with full baron. What do you guys think? I've seen one of these things take 2 towers and an inhib in one swing with a very high ranking top player who is a tad bit fed. It gives the top tremendous pressure on ending the game early. I feel like this definitely should be a thing, and that bottom has ALWAYS been the focus, but maybe this is too much?

2.) Responding to it feels very difficult if not impossible. If I try to leave my lane to rotate topside, Not only am I losing a fair chunk of experience and gold, but I am ALSO giving up my lane completely. Furthermore, The Baby Beetle has pretty much pushed down an entire tower by the time I can even arrive. Like.. it feels like why even bother? Maybe mids can respond better, but it feels impossible for me to affect the outcome without huge personal sacrifice.

3.) Too easy to kill in the pit. I've seen tops be able to solo this guy if they have a strong laning phase. Not sure this should be the case.

4.) The value of Dragon will drop a fair bit! once players start figuring out how oppressive this thing is, I don't think they will waste time collecting 3x dragon when they can get a huge bang out of the Herald.

**I actually have some suggestions on possible ways to address some of these issues without straight up nerfing him: **

1.) Have the Herald spawn at the enemies base, and ping ALL players that he's coming. This would at least give us some time to respond. As it is now, it feels really hard.

2.) Always have him travel down mid, as it is the easiest to group at? This would really let players coordinate better and give them a fighting chance. at defending.

Right, and I totally get the appeal there. He looks badass when he charges up and slams a towers health, I just think we need more ways to play around and stop him.

I mean I solo rift as riven, bring it to mid in d3 elo. Enemy mid tower is at 1/2 health, AND BOOOOM 1 shot tower then we just dive in and kill all of them and take the next 2 towers, even the enemy team didnt have time to react cause their tower just got 1 shot at 1/2 health LMAO. BEST THING EVER DUDE

I think making him spawn at base is a good idea. As it is it seems a little silly that you can just drop him next to the tower and he deals 50% tower hp. Like...what? Who thought of THAT number?

Right, I agree. The damage does seem a bit over the top. I don't think it should be gutted though, I think a 10-20% reduction would be about right.

An easier way to address the situation is to remove the Rift Herald from the game. Thank you very much.

I think that's too far - The Herald could be a great thing for the game and top lane pressure in general.
