Fiora isnt melee. She is pseudo melee

What being ranged means is that you can attack ppl who are at a distance. Being melee means you can only attack ppl right next to you. But when you have a gapcloser like fiora, and you can actually attack ppl who are 550 units away after using your dash then that's not really melee and not really ranged. Its pseudo melee and shouldn't be given the same benefits as being actually melee, as sion is. Why is fiora as tanky as sion?

So, pseudo melee, it's melee, because she's on top of you, and that's not 550 units, and she's not as tanky as sion. Glad we cleared that up.

That is the second dumbest thing I've read on G&B

so that's just not want ranged means. ranged attacks means shooting something at someone. plus she has a sword. a melee weapon. she walks up and hits stuff with it

By game design "range" has nothing to do with the weapon. Thresh for instance isn't melee despite not throwing projectiles, and you can just make a character with an unnecessarily long sword to have an auto attack equal to Ashe with a "melee" auto attack animation and it would still be considered range. It's not uncommon for games to have ranged classes that use melee weapons, although they are normally mid range unless they use magic rather than just the weapon itself.

Just to be sure, me stating this does not mean I am agreeing with the original post.

thresh never lets go of his "projectile". it's like saying a flail isn't melee just because it hangs from a chain. and seeing as how you can actually formulate sentences theres no way you could agree with this post

The flail is melee, yet it has a range. A sword is melee, yet it has range. A bow is NOT melee. Yet it too has range. Range is a number, not a unique quality of one class of weapon. What im SAYING in my post, is that fiora's 150 range (or whatever it is) is deceptive. She has much better target access than you would expect from a melee character.

No. She might not be exactly as tanky as scion, but when she chooses the balance of tanky vs dmg in her build, its not a zero sum choice, because she is "double dipping" with some extremely gold efficient items and a very efficient kit. I like fiora. I think she is great. But I dont think that she should get the bandaids that most melees get, like the double proc' for rageblade and fervor of battle. Shes not "melee" enough. Her target access is too high because of her q.

Ok so my post might not contain all the best ideas, but im trying to talk about target access and thats important. Target acess is why adc's have such power in their auto attacks. Because they can target a melee, but if the melee is far enough away (only about 300 units for a 550 range adc and a 150 range melee) the melee cant target the ranged character.

BUT!

If the melee has infinite gapclosers on 0 cooldown then that is DISTINCTLY different from a melee with no gapclosers AND its DISTINCTLY different from a ranged character, gapclosers or no.

Sometimes ppl focus on the stupid shit I say and focus less on the interesting shit. Ok so Im not saying theres any melee characters with infinite gap closers on 0 cooldown, but that scenario highlights my point and makes it easier to grok.
