mastery requirement for ranked games

this is something i thought would be an interesting idea. i can easily see some clear drawbacks to it and some clear advantages of it... and overall i haven't decided if i think its a good idea or not.. but here it is..

prevent people from playing in ranked with a champ they have less than a lvl 4 mastery with.

positives: this would help prevent people from playing champs in ranked they have no idea how to play.. even if there is an op champ if you you should learn how to play him before playing him in ranked.

new release champs in ranked games this is another issue that this would prevent.

negatives: would create even more non ranked people trying to get games with the new champ on release so they can play them ranked sooner.

would restrict champion pool for ranked even further

i was wondering what other people though of my idea or if they had any other positives or negative consequences this would add

They should also make it so you cant start a game without full runes and all mastery points spent and equiped

I think there should be a limit like you have to play a gane with someone before ranking, the mastery idea a bit harsh

playing 1 game does not give the the experience required to play ranked with a champion.

and i think the fact that the better you are with a champion the more mastery point you get make it perfect for this kind of thing. by the time you get your banner for lvl 4 you should be proficient enough to play them in a ranked game.

You can play a champ enough to have masteries in it but still not be component with them.

You can also become component with a champ before you have enough games to get high masteries.

Depends on the champ and person.

This solves nothing. I've stopped making the mistake of seeing someone with the mastery 5 tag on loafing screen and expecting they will be a reliable teammate.

Mastery Level 4 again... After the 10th thread... why does noone consider how many games that would take... how much it would screw League Veterans and especially, why this will never be implemented:

'Pick me XY' -> 'Sry dont have mastery for him'... REALLY?!?

Just from curiosity: Do you actually have 16 different Champions with Mastery Level 4?

this is what i like.. you bring up TWO very good counter arguments

i didnt even consider role swapping with someone

people rarely ever do it in bronze. and if i actually get a team that DOES i already know we won because i know it means they aren't actually bronze either. very nice point i did not consider.

as for the 16 different champs i DID consider that i do not play anywhere near 16 champ at a lvl i would be comfortable playing them in ranked. but that being said i dont think its a bad idea to so so and i wouldn't hesitate for a moment to get 16 champs to that level.

as soon as i get back into silver i plan on playing some more champs so i can expand my roles maybe after 4 season i might learn how to adc, the one role i haven't been able to do.

i think having to master that many champs would be a very good step to becoming a better playing and learning how to counterplay properly
