The best part about the introduction of Dead Man's Plate to SR is
the fact that I won't waste money when I build chainvest and giant's belt trying to get sunfire cape.
This has happened more times than I am comfortable admitting.

I like it as a viable HP focused replacement for what they're doing to Randuin's.
This has happened to me once. It set me back about 500 gold. In my defense, I play Cinderhulk so often that I haven't really bought Sunfire that much since the change.
Whats Dead Man's? can you send me link?
This is probably my favorite new defensive item in the upcoming juggernaut patch. Sterak's and titanic hydra are both good, but Dead Man's plate just feels right, especially if you get it on one of the immobile bruisers like Udyr, Skarner, Darius, etc.
My favorite thing about Dead Man's Plate is that it provides mobility for jungle\cross map movement, an offensive passive, and still gives defensive stats comparable to the other armor options.
Edit: And engage.
The thing I like most abut this item is it can replace Sunfire on some champs. For example, If you build Randuins, Stalkers with warrior, Black Cleaver, Merc treads and Maw on, for example, Vi, you want some HP and Armor to finish off, however, sunfire is't exactly brilliant on her (fights shouldn't really last long enough for her to take advantage of the burn) so its a bit of waste. At the same time, what else do you build? With this Item, you have a nearly as cheap item which gives 10 more armor, 150 more HP and a bit of extra speed to roam, which is pretty nice. The burst damage isn't a lot, but it's appreciated.
Tl;DR Will be better on Champs who want sunfire + randuins stats but dont realy benefit from one or the other's abilities to much.
The thing is, I personally build with the full item build there. Basically so I don't have to memorize item builds.
