Gotta love how hard Riot contradicts themselves all in the same post...

-> Proceeds to explain the exp changes in jungle so junglers aren't forced into a particular rotation, allowing them to gank and camp as need be.

-> Immediately proceeds to explain the new dragons, and important they are, so junglers have no choice but to camp bottom all game for drake superiority...

Inb4 Season 11 "We changed, and or nerfed drakes because we didn't like the jungler being forced to camp bottom all game due to the importance and power spikes of the drakes, and elder".

It's like nobody thinks at Riot..

One or two drake buffs yea no problem, but you can't let a team get all 5 + soul + elder which is what happens if you let them get 3 drakes or more.. They become pretty snowbally as a whole..

WIth Elder having such an insane execute and power spike with the soul, you have to fight for it, but the team that has no drakes vs a team that has 3+ is going to lose that team fight 9/10 times.

Also inb4 baron becomes obsolete...

Don't forget the XP nerfs to bot! Making camping bot an (easier) and better idea than ever!

Bullshit, the nerfs to jungler xp also means the jungler will be same or 1 level under even bot lane, and with the buffed top lane xp the enemy top laner can take your camps and there's zero you can do about it now unless your top lane is nearby and comes help you contest (which is why enemy top laners wait till your top lane has backed or died to invade your camps).

Jungler xp is worse than ever and more reliant on laner priority than it has ever been.

The only jungler I'm having any success with (out of the ones I used to play anyway), is Poppy.. Because she's so tanky and can put out so much burst damage if you rush tiamat, you can just keep ganking top and bot. Push out top laner, tell your top laner to go 1v1 their jungler, and camps, and then rush bottom, push out bottom, and keep getting free drakes... It's like an auto win strat.

Because poppy gets so tanky and bursty, no other jungler can contest her really except maybe a Xin, or Yi once they get their core items.

Don't think even Lee can beat her, but her problem is her early lane pressure since her early clear is not healthy at all. Warwick most definitely can, maybe even Voli, but Poppy's utility and defensive scaling trumps them both late game.

I'm so sick of the constant nerfs to assassins despite the fact only Qiyana would see play in worlds/LCS and even there she was being taken to jungle...

I dunno dude, you tried walking into an Akali who's two levels up? You kinda just die regardless of your lead unless you build super defensively. XP nerfs to bot never needed to happen, in fact I actually despise the entire list of XP changes. Why are solo lanes getting buffed when they were so important through the entire year. And now if your solo lanes lose as a jungler, you are screwed, there is no catchup mechanic at all now. I played 3 games, all 3 games getting chased out of my jungle level 4 by a level 6 mid laner. Seems pretty balanced to me xD

Hilarious that they give solo laners a whole 2 percent or so more exp (nothing) to try and give them more importance but then make dragons op so bot is still the only thing that matters.

Rito is notoriously known for contradicting themselves, double-standards & especially habitually lying.

Now that I've stated that, I'm very certain the patch notes are a compilation of small notes made by literally dozens of different employees. As everyone should well know, Rito employees have basically zero communication with each other in regards to gameplay changes, which has all, but been confirmed by gameplay employees. They've openly said their work is completely un-managed, they never have to run by changes with their superior & there is zero accountability when a project fails, even if when part of a recurring trend.

A few examples of failed projects that resulted in zero accountability: Sona, patch 4.13; Jungle Update, 2015; Jungle Update, 2016; Juggernauts, 2016; Jungle plants; Runes Reforged; Elemental dragons

Don't forget they "buffed" herald by making two spawn and

HERALD LEVEL Average level of all ten champions, determined on using Eye of the Herald ⇒ picking up Eye of the Herald ~~ HEALTH~~ 4000-6400 (levels 6-12) ⇒ 3180-6360 (levels 6-12) HEADBUTT TURRET DAMAGE 40% current heath (1600-2560), minimum 1500 ⇒ 1500-2550 (levels 6-12) HEADBUTT SELF-DAMAGE 25% current health ⇒ 66% current health

basically making it die after one-hit, buts its somehow more toplane impact.

EATARI3 votes

Yeah, the self-damage was a bit too much. 40% would have been a more justifiable nerf.

this one made me laugh xD just another day riot proves their balancing team needs to be fired we all know they've been awful at their job for years already or only appeal to the chinese fantasy.

Bold of you to assume this game won't be dead and the servers shut off by season 11

I’m positive they said they buffed elder because not enough people realized they were strong when they had it.

Thanks riot for ruining balance to cater to cavemen

so awesome that ppl who dont play the game are balancing the game around the top 1% of players

Revert all the Dragon changes. They are straight garbage.

Sir Inugami3 votes

Oh they didn't just contradict themselves with the Jungle.

Items, too. Remember when Deathfire Grasp, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Force of Nature were removed or reworked (reworked in the case of Youmuu's) because the stats they gave were just too good that anyone built them of a certain class.

Sanguine Blade. Because every Bruiser, Juggernaut, Fighter and Assassin needs to now be a split pusher and nearly unkillable without 2+ people.

Have you tried building Garen with a item 3181 yet? Yeah. Do item 3078 + item 3181. Gg.

The first team to get a dragon soul pretty much wins the game at that point

Pretty much, and the first team to get the first drake pretty much has power on every drake after that too... meaning the game is determined by the 5 minute mark.. (Or at least when the first drake goes down).

My motivation to play league is lower than ever this pre season

But hey Halo Reach is in 11 days

At least I got to give it to Riot that with the new Drakes, junglers are basically trolling if they appear on Toplane and not Botlane so I can finally 1v1...then again, my entire life I have been playing fighters/duelists so I have to switch to full tanks or I stand no chance against them or Mages like Ryze that are more powerful than they ever were

And as a side note, I feel like Aatrox from now on will reach release yuumi's winrates
