@Riot Here's an Idea I think everyone will love: Training Rooms

A game mode of "Training Rooms". Solo player bot training regimes designed to focus on something specific with a target, and end point.

It will have "Target" goals to reach for different ranks, like C, B, A, S, tell you how well you did depending on what it is, with a chance to retry, in which it will show you how well you did on the second attempt compared to the first. While also giving tips if possible.

I think this would be a great way for players to practice things at their own pace, and see how well they are actually doing.

Example: CS Training Room.

You choose any champion you want, and it spawns you in an empty lane, with minions. You have "target" cs per minute to get rated for. After 3-4 minutes it stops, and tells you how many you missed, how well you cs'd, and gives tips of possible. (Basic normal gameplay tips to help with csing, etc.)

Simple but effective.

Other possible rooms.

  • Jungle Clearing efficiency/Speed
  • CSing (like above)
  • Baron Smiting. (How close to perfect you can get on smiting the baron. Very important when a team fight is going on around baron that an enemy jungler is trying to steal.)

There could be more advanced ones, which I honestly think Riot should look into, they would require actual bots programmed to them to help players practice, but I honestly think it would be a good thing.

  • Csing while dealing with a "lane bully" champion. (AI focuses more on poking the player than csing, but tries to do both. Player job is to try to get as much cs as possible without dieing).
  • Jungle Clearing while dealing with an invading enemy jungler.
  • Target Jungle efficiency: (CSing Jungle quickly while either killing or pushing enemy champions out of lanes).

-Team fight proficiency: (This one would be VERY specific setups, but would basically be super helpful for new players. Where it sets up a pre made teamfight, lets the player fight it out. Then tells the player how well he did for target focusing, and target decisions, as well as damage done, damage taken, etc, damage mitigated, etc... Example: Player focused the leona tank in front of them, while instead they could of focused a far less tanky, but higher threat champ. This could be easily known depending on what Npc took the most damage from the player. Because the fight would be 100% pre made, and pre determined by the developers, they could easily script an explanation of what the player should of done. THen let them re do it to see the difference, of how much more it helped. This would require a pre determined champion for the player to play as, but would still help greatly in teaching players proper target decision making.. Something I see even high elo players struggle with.)

A bit like Gran Turismo. You don't really start to learn how to race until you chase specific targets in training. This could be a huge boon for people who are breaking out of bronze and want to broaden their understanding of more nuanced higher-tier mechanics.

Unfortunately, I worry that this doesn't fall under the D&I team's umbrella, and that's where all the money seems to be going.

Or, give us doom bots always available.

Best mechanical training, especially if you don't go for stuff like ziggs/velkoz.

I have been on these boards for 2 months, and logged in for the first time just to upvote this. Rito pls. I have been wanting this since I started this game

It´s a tragedy how useless the current "practice mode" is.

One thing that I really miss is a 1v1 mode where you can practice laning and matchups with a friend. Sure you can go into a custom game, but having a tool to reset the game would be so handy.

Dude please yes. Maybe make it multiplayer and maybe add certain champions dodging rooms and add some sick music and I might play this for fun

"A new tutorial?! New AI?! It took us 10 years to make AI that was competent and a tutorial that breakes with the simplest moves, how do you expect us to do such a big project? Have you gone mad?!"

I have wanted this for so long. League requires so much knowledge of so much shit that the game will literally never tell you explicitly with so many mechanics that are in the game intentionally as well as unintentionally that you need to do soooooo much research on just to be able to play the game. Why riot allows for 3rd parties to offer this info (skillcapped and proguides comes to mind) and charge for it when I'm sure they could integrate a far superior solution into the game is beyond me. Just leveling to 30 will teach you nothing about the game and it's time they added meaningful simulations or scenarios like every other video game so that players at lower ranks like my own can learn about things like lane priority and wave manipulation etc

Don't get me wrong, I love this idea

But it would be pretty ironic if this was getting mass downvoted considering the title lmao

I read the title and thought you meant like the practice tool but with multiple people. That would be amazing and not to hard to create either.

Forget about it man, the idea is great i upvote it and accept it, BUT look here. They are removing TT and PvE mods and god knows what else is getting removed, because that stupid ass TFT is consuming too much resource. Now imagine what would such an idea do to their "fragile" company.

They are not adding map skins, different announcers and a lot of other stuff that players want them to add (not for free ofc) Sooo, i am sorry but forget about it.

Another thing that is useful/very powerful is denying or punishing taking CS (gold) which is very doable especially against melee champions and exp (very difficult because the exp range is quite large)

I think people here are forgetting that we already have a PRACTICE tool in the game... you know, where you can go to practice csing... champion mechanics... Also, if you want to practice against other people, that is what normal and blind draft are meant to be, blind especially as many times most of the people playing blind are new players, so if you're starting out on a new champion you'll be with people just learning the game.

Also, as far as the O.P. and their suggestion... Those are all mechanics you're meant to learn over time while playing the game and are things that quite frankly you aren't going to simply learn by going into a training mode. Every champion functions differently, some can take more poke some can take less, some are easy to cs on and some are not. I doubt they'd take the time to actually code a scenario for each specified champion to grade you, not to mention the time it would take to make each scenario.

Where did I say they needed to code something for every specific champ?

And why is a proper training tool something you think is pointless?

There's a reason why people in sports do things over and over, it helps get better extremely faster than just training the skills during games.. It's why basketball players shoot baskets at different points on the court over and over in the same spot again and again. It helps repetition, muscle memory, etc. Just doing it during the games sure you'll get better, but you won't get better nearly as fast.

This is the same thing. Not to mention having tools telling you how well you're doing which is a huge benefit.

This is a cool idea, but would end up just making lower elos feel bad getting d's on cs score every time while trying hard to improve which is discouraging. (Fixed by having options which optimize by ranked averages). The other problem is twofold of 1. People play less actual league and 2. If they do practice more, everyone improves = no one improves Both of which are sad, but are kinda why it is so difficult to get new players into league rn anyway

KnightLakega1 votes

That's not discouraging, that's life. People, especially kids and this generation need to learn the joys of becoming better, not staying crap while getting rewarded, or people saying "good job".

That being said.. you wont ever get better with that mentality. Let them know how good or bad they are, show where they need to improve.

I would like to see a way to add a second live person(to the training mode already in the game), like a mentor, or to teach someone how to jungle

Wow, as a new player, this sounds like something really amazing to have! Playing the game by jumping straight into season 9 was (and still is) really difficult, as there are so many things I have yet to understand/know of. Even though I had friends who knew more about the game to help me, I think it would be really nice to be able to practice on your own/work on more basic things that you don't have time to focus on in a real game.

I really like the idea of a practice room for CSing, especially the one with a lane bully, and I'd love it if one of the rooms could teach/train things like wave control (which I still don't seem to understand LOL.) Although the current training room that League has is okay, I think specialized rooms would really help a lot of new players like me.

I really hope Riot implements something like this :D
