Is anyone else having a hard time just winning ranked games?

I've been using lolskill alot recently, and I've happened to notice something.

When you load up a game, in the middle, inbetween teams, lolskill gives you a statistical chance of winning. 90% of the time, my team is at a statistical disadvantage, and out of that, 90% of those game I actually lose. The accuracy is a little baffling, to be honest.

And then, if I'm to win a game, I lose 2 to 3 afterwards. I don't even remember the last time I went on a winning streak. I don't feel like I'm playing badly in these games, but I would like to know if I'm doing anything wrong. Do I make mistakes? Of course I do. My map awareness could use a bit of work, but I am working on it, and I'm vastly better at it than I was about a year ago. My farm isn't perfect, but, apparently its just above average on almost every champ I play. My KDA isn't perfect either, obviously, but it's certainly getting better. I'm dying alot less, and punishing mistakes alot more, usually coming out with a kill. Even my MMR seems higher than the average Bronze player......but it certainly is dropping due to how my match history looks. And before any of you say it, yes, I do have those games where its as if I don't even belong in Bronze.

So.......wheres the problem? I don't want to be that guy who blames their team, but.......if lolskill is anything to go off of.........how do I keep getting teams that are statistically at a disadvantage against the other team 90% of the time.........and then lose 90% of those games? I perform the best I can every game, and I swear to God, I am not lying, but, I feel completely helpless. If I can almost never rely on my team to do the same, then..........what do I do?

Games aren't decided by the best player in the match. They're decided by the worst.

Good God......could we have this put on plaque somewhere?

I have similar problem, just yesterday I played 2 ranked games: -Kindred jungle. I killed 2 Dragons and we get 2 Barons! I was 12/8/13. I had best farm, most deal dmg to champions, most dealt dmg, warded more than supp, even got S and lost... -Vel'koz mid. Again I dealt most dmg to champions, best farm, placed as many wards as supp, was 12/4/7, got S and lost...

I stop after 2 lose in row, but I start to think I belong in Bronze...

Your game shouldn't have lasted long enough for 2 baron kills if you had that much of a lead before as kindred. A problem in low elo is the incapablility to end the game when you have the chance. (Assuming you are low elo) if you're a solo laner try to roam after winning lane (killing them, denying waves then ganking or making a tp play. You just HAVE to push your advantage hard in the form of objective control and then close out the game asap. No dicking around trying to farm for your kda. I'm no perfect player but after 400+ games in plat this is kinda the fundamentals even people here don't understand sometimes

ThePikol1 votes

Maybe I could do more as Kindred, it's pretty hard when you do baron and your team dies right after and you are the only one with buff trying to defend 1 vs 5 As Vel I don't know. I was winning my lane, I roamed a lot, I went both bot and top. I have no idea what happend that we lost.

Lol ever since the DQ rework a month or so ago I dropped from Plat 3 to Gold 3

I have no explanation for why. Games are just very hard and the opposing team is always super skilled for some reason. Yesterday I literally played a game against Sirchez on stream (A Dia 1 Top laner) when my MMR is like Gold 5 or something, and that's just 1 out of many encounters with obvious smurfs.

Edit: I almost always play in a Duo/Trio, so maybe that could explain it.

Except it's not true and it's the reason why you're stuck in Bronze. The main difference between high elo and low elo players is high elo players are constantly trying to fix their own mistakes, understand why they died, one thing they could do better. Bronze players are looking for something or someone else to blame, coming into the game looking at stats (Oh my team is not favored, etc). You have a mentality issue that is gonna continue to hold you back until you fix it.

And you definitely are making a ton of mistakes every game, you just need to figure out what they are and fix them.

In high elo people dont feed this hard.Like 0/12 in 15 min bot lane. What can you do when enemy adc already has 2 full items in 15 mins....

My suggestion to you is to focus on jungle clear a little more and don't worry about ganking quite so much. This sounds dumb but it adds up and something I really need to work on as well. Like pros are pros for a reason. The junglers have crazy cs while seemingly also always being in the right spot at the right time. Now I am no where close to a pro and honestly still have a lot of work to do in this area myself but this is what I have learned so far jungling and it has helped me this season. Ganking for your team is great, but if you are not farming your jungle then it doesn't matter. I have seen a lot of pros talk about this and it makes sense. Without farming your jungle you fall behind in exp and gold and hurt yourself. Jungle should be one of the highest level players in the game. So focus on your farm, gank when you have a power spike (i.e. Amumu level 6), cover lanes who need covering, push lanes after a successful gank to turret, control objectives baron/dragon). I have an easy time jungling in silver, but now struggling more in gold. I still get caught up on trying to please all the assholes on my team pinging me for ganks. I really wish Riot would let you ignore player pings as every other game there is always one asshole who just pings assistance over & over again while also feeding their ass off. I just see a lot of your recent jungle games, at least when playing tanky champs you cs is like 3.5-3.8 a minute. Not sure what pro level is, but to get an s it seems like you usually need to be around 4.5-5/minute as jungle. I noticed back when I was on a huge winning streak on my jungle account I was averaging that amount of cs/min plus had a decent amount of kills/assists. I have been struggling more recently though after taking some time off jungling. Just my two cents. Focus a little more on farm, a little less on ganking especially early game. Mini map awareness is key. Also, try to avoid being top or bot late game if baron or dragon is up. I still get caught sometimes pushing top or bot mid/late game and give enemy free objective since I am not around and our team does not have the objective warded.

This is absolutely true. To be honest I looked at your stats and your cs as adc is pretty spot on compared to many other bronze 3 players. But looks like you have a hard time winning lane. My guess is although you are ok at csing you do not do much poking and have a hard time positioning in mid and late game. Bronze is the hardest area to trust your support but it is the easiest elo to get many kills in lane. Like when I play in bronze on a alternate account a lot of the time I get many kills a game. I use that lead to snowball the game hard. I push lanes, cover lanes that need covering, I generally have the most cs in game a long with most kills. When team death match aram mode starts I am usually over an item or two ahead and can kill 3-4 enemy players before dying.

Its hard to recognize our own mistakes, but trust me everyone makes them and us low elo players make a lot of them. Like if I was playing in bronze I would see a lot of mistakes players make and would exploit them. At the same time if a diamond or higher player was playing in gold then they would see a ton of mistakes I make and my team makes and exploit the shit out of it and win most of their games.

You will see it one day it just takes time. Once you improve you will reach silver and laugh at how bad people in bronze are. Then you may find your way to gold and realize silver isn't that bad. Maybe you keep getting better and rise to plat or diamond and laugh at us gold or plat players. Knowledge and skill is power. Learn more, increase your mechanics, rise in rank. To be honest you don't really even need great mechanics to reach like diamond 5 or lower (according to pros). It helps a lot, but ultimately game knowledge is key. Like the better I get at the game the more I realize how shitty my mechanics are. But at the same time the more I learn about this game the more errors I see the enemy make and the more I am able to exploit those mistakes and use that advantage to increase my teams chances of winning.

Edit: Think I might have replied to you Onemustfall instead of quoting. I meant that I agree with what you were saying, but meant to be talking to the OP. Sorry for any confusion.

Pick a champ that deals AOE damage, can get away with misplays and turn misplays into outplays by being slippery, and who can take a game -deciding position such as Mid or JG (easily joins team fights).

Basically.

Vladimir

He's tanky AND he deals AOE damage and his laning is super safe and consistent. With a Ghost you can Gank bot and top as well from Mid. Taking him Top is a waste, go Mid. Ghost in, Ult, and then spam Es and Qs and watch as everyone dies.

Get better. Honestly its the only way to rank up. I check players ranks before posting just to have an idea what elo were talking about. It would not make much sense for me as a gold player to give advice to a diamond player on climbing.

That is sort of where I am at right now in gold. I still think I win more than I lose, but its getting hard to consistently win. I just realize most games the enemy team is a similar skill to me and I am having a hard time having a large impact on the games. It just seems like a lot of the time I am at the mercy of my team. You want to know the reason? Because I am at or very close to my actual elo. When you are at your actual elo then your impact on games becomes minimal compared to everyone else. So you find yourself more reliant on your team to win games. To rank up you need to improve so you have more impact on your games and can rise in rank until you reach your new actual elo ranking.

I see your bronze and trust me I know the frustration. But honestly ranking up is very doable. Although your teammates are going to be completely terrible the good news is generally so will the enemy team players. You don't really have to improve on a lot to get out of bronze. Focus on getting better at farming cs and play a little safer. Find 2 roles and 2-3 champs in each of those roles you really like and have success with and spam the shit out of them. With new champ select spamming the same roles and champs is much easier than it was in prior seasons.

Trust me, climbing through bronze solo is definitely doable. Although I am currently struggling with gold, there are plenty of players out there who can climb through Gold super easily. What that tells me is I am the problem, not my team and the only way I will climb higher is if I continue to improve. You won't win every game, but if you focus on what you can do better each game to increase your chances you will start getting better and winning more games.

Ok, but what do you do when your put in this situation:

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2293667832/209488273?tab=overview

Me and Sona killed Bard 3 times while in lane (we simply couldn't reach Jinx), and we were doing just fine. The other lanes, and even jungler, didn't stand a chance. The first time I met Veigar, at 15 minutes, he was able to one shot me with his ult. At 15 minutes. I understand that Trist is very squishy......but Veigar still shouldn't be able to one shot me with his ult at 15 minutes.

Most of my games aren't like this, but they follow the same lines where I perform well in lane, but the other lanes just fall apart.......constantly.

What do I do?

FIRST TIME LEE IN MY PROMOS

Please, tell me more that I'm not doing well.

Both are hard wins its really hard what to suggest without actually watching the games. I am pretty shitty at Tristana and I am sure I would have struggled in the same situation. Tristana takes good mechanical skills to pull off. Honestly I would stop playing her in ranked for now until you practice her more. Looks like you 0-3 with her.

Those are tough wins the 2-5-3 games with the 12-0 jinx probably an auto loss although if you were really mechanically good I am sure you could have won. I have seen diamond smurf play trist in bronze and watched as she kited our entire team over and over again.

One thing I notice that is pretty exploitable in bronze/silver (higher elos as well actually but I am not that good) is controlling farm. Like bronze from memory is pretty much an all out chase war after 20 mins. So many lanes are left with no one pushing them while everyone groups for ARAM. It takes practice and knowing when to be with team and when not to but, one thing to exploit easily in bronze is out farming opponents. Like at some point players usually get good enough to out trade players in bronze and dodge skill shots making it easier for them to farm kills. But while you work on getting better out farming players is pretty easy. Have to cs your best in lane while trading with enemy but not dying. After whatever happens bot you pretty much just need to look for lanes to cover and push them out before team fights. A lot of times people will all group mid to protect mid turret, but really you shouldn't need your whole team. It takes getting used to looking at the mini-map a lot but if you can see they have 5 mid and you have 4 mid, you have free pushing on top or bot. Of course you need to tell your team and hope your team doesn't try and 4v5 without you. I am not saying don't group but think about it more strategically. Mid are your most important turrets so make sure their covered. But if you already see your mid lane/support/jungle heading mid to cover it and there are creeps pushing towards your turrets bot, head bot and clear a couple waves before moving to group. If you see no one covering top and its safe to cover since you know enemy is not there go clear the wave before grouping with your team. Its crazy how much farm is missed out on at low elos. Now if you getting a ton of kills then grouping and staying with team might be better, but honestly it should be easy to do both. Even if your enemy opponent is up a few kills on you, you can stay even or close by out farming them, which bronze is the easiest elo to do this in.

I remember a couple seasons ago I was messing around in bronze just playing random adcs. I won 10 games in a row on I think 10 different adcs, maybe doubled up a couple times. I remember one game (think we might have had an advantage of a 5v4) where I was old Caitlyn. Don't really remember what happened in lane, just remember we had an advantage but my team got cocky and started feeding. LIke they would sit mid playing patty cake and then chase for kills and die. I just split pushed bot lane for like 15-20 minutes. Then eventually grouped and we won the game. Since enemy team was always grouped they shared xp and farm, meanwhile I got solo xp and farm so was levels ahead and items ahead and just wrecked in the team fights.

"Most of my games aren't like this, but they follow the same lines where I perform well in lane, but the other lanes just fall apart.......constantly" One thing to learn now and remember is laning phase is not everything. Yea... its great to have a good early game but honestly it doesn't mean all that much. Being ahead gives you an advantage but does not guarantee a win. Games are thrown all the time in low elo. Have to get better at learning the mid and late game and it becomes much easier to climb. Pretty much all I changed the last year was learning to farm a little better and mid/late game decision making and its made it easy for me to climb out of silver. Gold is still a pretty big shit show when it comes to mid and late game as well.

Hope this makes some sense haha if not my apologies.

A win streak is a sign that you are not where you belong A struggle to get a win streak is a sign that you should adapt to your current placement and try to climb out, if you cant then its where you belong A loss streak is likely a sign that you are able to escape from one place but don't have what you need yet to get out of the next

Keep in mind that being diamond 1 will not prepare you for bronze 1. A diamond 1 playing like a diamond 1 will lose sometimes in bronze 1 and get stuck hovering until he adapts and solves his rank which an actual diamond 1 (not a boosted animal) will likely do relatively fast compared to a silver 1.

Play champs I have never played before, and learn on the go, while ruining other peoples promo games? Sure.....whatever. (This was a first time Lee)

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

no, play what you have to play even if you haven't played it before. There's no need to learn on the go nor did anything I said imply this. There are modes other than ranked but yes it does help if you learn things

If you haven't had a winstreak then you are where you belong or you need something to get you ahead. The fun part is that its really not merely a state of being but rather a choice, choose which you like better
