The Balance team talks about removing "invisible power" in order to help clean up the balance of this game. Katarinas e, Shunpo, gives invisible power that Katarina does not need. There is no reason why an Assassin should get any type of durability on any abilities. While I don't think this nerf will solve all of Katarinas problems, it sure as hell will make her a lot less frustrating to play against.

darkdill2 votesThis actually sounds like a good area to look at in terms of eliminating some of Katarina's power. That % damage reduction does feel quite tacked on nowadays, considering Kat's already hyper-mobile.
However, if they were to straight-up remove it, I'd have to ask that Kat get some compensation in her base stats, or she'll be too fragile and easy to poke out of lane.

Highly similar to the Akali changes to her shroud. They said she didn't need free defensive stats as an assassin, and gave her a MS bonus that is literally useless about 95% of the time. Might as well do the same to Kat, for the same reason.
Kãtãrinã2 votesHer w already gives speed and E isn't ment to be used usually to directly jump on a dude during laning at least. She doesn't need ANOTHER speed buff. the dame reduction i think is just fine. It was already nerfed a while ago i believe so. On another note that is technically her only safety. Diana, an assassin, has a huge shield. Zed can automatically hit R and return to his safety shadow or use W ifd he hadnt engaged with it. Akali has her damn bubble or multi dash ulti to escape. Fizz has a freaking troll pole. Kassadin gets a shield with his Q (magic only though). Yasuo has a dash on a .5 second cooldown and can jst run up and down a minion line let alone he has a passive shield and a wind wall. Ahri has 3 dashes as well as a form of crowd control (Charm). Leblanc has a(or 2) dashes that she can instantly teleport back to. Rengar has a major heal on emporered W or just standard resistances on w. Yi has a 50% reduction during a channel that heals him and can go invulnerable. Out of all these safeties you want to make katarina have 0? Damager reduction is the only thing keeping her fragile self alive 9/10 times.
Stray Kat1 votesI'd agree with you IF Kat didn't have resets, and IF her E weren't getting an 80% CD reduction when used on champs after the next patch(Last I checked the PBE, anyway). As it is, she can hit you with Q, jump on you with E, hit you with W, press R, get a reset off your death, and jump back out of your team - Often before many players can even react(She doesn't often need more than one tick of the R damage to kill a squishy). Saying the defensive stats are all she has is kind've silly, considering her goal is to blow you up before you can hit her, and she's damn good at it, AND she gets a reset on her escape when she does it.
But that's just my view.
Kãtãrinã1 votesthat pbe post also removed the damage reduction last i checked and was also MONTHS AND MONTHS ago and was never confirmed to go on the PBE it was just some "thoughts" by a red of what may or may not happen. It never hit PBE so that points invalid as hell for one. and you are definetly wrong, if im not Fed i need at LEAST half my ult duration (a whole 1.5+ seconds) to kill a target if not a full channel.and by the time i channel my R my damage reduction has worn off. she also HAS to kill you to get a reset, so it isn't a guarantee. a defensive stat is neccesary since as u saw with all the others they have a form or another of defense. Why would a short damage reduction, which may stop at most some damage from an auto attack or a spell cast need to be removed.

SnugglePuggle941 votesNo. She needs a defensive utility, and that is perfect. Just because you don't know how to counter or play against her and she gets fed doesn't mean she needs to be nerfed. Learn how to play against her, duh.
